Melissa Bank's The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing was one of the first "adult" novels I read as a teenager. Now in its 25th year, it has been republished for a new audience ready to read this brilliant coming-of-age novel for the first time. While the story can be hard to follow via it's vignettes as Jane Rosenal forms herself from teen to adult.

This title deserved an anniversary rerelease. I devoured this the first time and devoured it again a second. Such a great coming of age story. The struggles of being a young woman in this world—it’s a must read.

Fresh, warm-hearted, funny, and unforgettable. TGG is just as good now as when it was first published and still feels like need-to-read NYC and coming-of-age literature.
