This is an absolutely outstanding Systematic Theology by the late, celebrated scholar, Anthony Thiselton. In my opinion, it would be a top choice for scholars researching the field or a graduate student working on a thesis, dissertation, or upper level course in the area of systematic theology. It is clearly written, well-researched, r0bust, penetrating, and extremely conversant with the discipline.

Frankly, given Thiselton's constant engagement with philosophy and the work of other scholars, my concern is that it is less well-adapted for use as a textbook for a first year graduate course. Rather, as it turns out, it is the book I wish to read as I prepare for lectures. :) Ultimately, I chose Wayne Gruden's Systematic Theology as more suitable to my first year students' needs as I substitute this coming Fall for the usual professor who is on sabbatical leave.
