I was excited to see a cookbook about Jello molds, and expected to get a lot of fruity and dessert based recipes. I was pleasantly surprised to find recipes across several different categories. I would have never thought about making savory dishes in this way, but now, thanks to this cookbook, there are a few I can't wait to try. Even the dessert category has a wide array of new and innovative options to try!

This is definitely not your grandmother’s jello cookbook!! Peter Di Mario and Judith Choate have created an absolute fantastic journey into the world of gelatin. And we’re not just talking desserts here. They have everything from a delicate and lovely tomato gelee with avocado mousse to a PB & Jiggle shot that puts a fun spin on cocktail time. And, of course, the desserts, Peachy Keen Pretzel Mold, Apple Cinnamon Toast Panna Cotta, so many delicious options.

The book is full of information too. You learn about the different types of gelling agents, including vegan options. Lessons on how to successfully use gelatin molds, and the basics of making your own gelatin. Anything and everything you want to know about the jiggliest foodstuff known to humankind is in this great book. If that’s not inspiring enough, the photos are absolutely GORGEOUS!! Everyone should have this fun cookbook on their shelves.

I received an advance review copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jiggle!: A Cookbook focuses on all things gelatin both sweet and savory.

The Sections are Introduction, Getting Started, Super Simple Starter Jiggles, Sweet Things, Savory Dishes, Time for Drinks

The recipes are very easy to follow along and guide you through the whole process of layering the creations. The recipes are very fun and creative without getting too far out there. I’m excited to try some of these recipes.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What fun! Jiggle includes sweet, savory, and alcoholic recipes — but the opportunity to riff on the techniques and ingredients makes the possibilities endless. The photos show beautiful finished products, often in fancy molds, but the authors are clear that these aren’t necessary; anything that holds the volume would work. Recipes include the old-fashioned ambrosia salad, as well as new concepts like margarita slices.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Really cool cookbook! I love reading different quirky cookbooks and this one was delightful! Very unique concept and executed very well.

Thank you Netgalley, Workman Publishing Company, Peter DiMario and Judith Choate for giving me an ARC of this book!

While not a cookbook for the novice or family meal focused chef, Jiggle would make an excellent addition to a library collection of specialty cookbooks. Beautifully illustrated and wide ranging, covering a variety of gelatin based sweets, savories, and beverages, this book is a feast for the eyes even if the recipes themselves prove to be less appealing. Readers will need to experiment on their own to determine the time required for each dish, and presentation will vary as the author's collection of gelatin molds is perhaps more extensive than that of the average chef, but as a source of inspiration Jiggle fits the bill! Thank you to NetGalley for access to this arc.

This is a fun book with inventive recipes for modern gelatin mold recipes. I appreciate that there are instructions for using agar agar instead at the beginning of the book for those who don’t want to use gelatin.
