I love the authenticity of this book, read from the perspective of a mother to a daughter. I can relate with love relationship that is done here. Hopefully I can be a parent like that too, to my own child. Thank you so much.

Reparenting Myself is a memoir and a series of journal letters to the author’s two young daughters. These are the author’s thoughts on growing up, getting it wrong, and giving her best parenting advice to her family.

As a mother myself, I could relate to some of the worries, issues and events in this book. However, much of the writing is very personal to the author and her family, so not all the chapters were of general interest. I liked how she wants to do her very best by her family and give them every opportunity to grow-up with confidence, and to be kind, thoughtful humans; I’m sure that this resonates with many parents.

It should be noted that the author lives in America, so some points are not quite the same for parents in other parts of the world, but it is easy to get the general idea if medical and financial matters differ.

Not a typical book I would read but I liked the layout and the easy flow of reading of this book. As a mother myself it also made me think about my childhood and my mistakes and what knowledge I would like to pass on to my daughter. Very insightful and some funny anecdotes too!
