This is a must-read book I don't want to give any spoilers, but you won't regret getting this book, you won't put it down till you're done reading the whole this.

Personally struggled to get into this one, but I think that’s more so down to the fact I was in a reading slump rather than it being down to the book

This book was just my type of read! Finn was OBSESSED and that was chefs kiss for me! This book made me think twice about settling for anything less than my own Finn. I would definitely recommend this to my friends!

I absolutely devoured this book. FMC got a bit repetitive with her body issues. But I also know from experience that is a life long problem. this is absolutely my favorite book of 2024. The writing was so hot. I immediately want to read it again.

I loved this. As a plus size woman who has felt every emotion this woman has, it's beautifully captured. The scenes were definitely spicy but never out of depth for me which meant this felt so much more relatable.

If you like your books to have H-O-T chemistry, a partner who believes in pleasure, and a story that will leave you with all the "feels" give this a read.
With summer in full swing it's time to fill the e-readers, beach bags, suitcases, and shelves with new adventures! Are you ready for a neighbors to lovers scorchin adventure? Don't miss this fun and spicy read!

please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: animal death (fish), betrayal, binge drinking, cheating, depression, emotional abuse, emotional cheating, fat shaming, manipulation, mentions of death, misogyny, narcissism, ow drama, public breakup, toxic relationships
Kink CWs: boudoir photography, choking, dirty talk, hair pulling, masturbation, oral, praise, spanking, spit as lube, squirting, stripping, “teach me”, wet dreams
standalone: book 1 of the Lessons in Love series
final thoughts: this book put me through the emotions ! It was almost perfect for me, and I enjoyed so much of this book. The FMC was relatable and realistic- she struggled with self esteem throughout the book while the MMC worked to build that confidence up.
The MMC was so swoony and near perfect and his cousin was amazing, I can’t wait to see if she gets her own book. I was giggling and kicking my feet loving this story up until this one specific scene that completely ruined my beautiful cinnamon-roll, golden retriever, FMC-obsessed view of the MMC and it was so hard for me to fall back in love with him after it 🙃🥴😬. I needed to text a book friend for emotional support and after sleeping on it overnight I’m still mad at him LOL

I really enjoyed myself while reading this book. While there were some elements that were similar to tropes I've read before, overall I really liked that it was a new concept for a book to me, and the characters are both unique and memorable. I loved the spicy scenes, and I also really enjoyed the dramatic bits of the book and the tension.

Smut. Smut. Smut.
I liked it. First of all, what I liked and hooked to read this book is that the main male character is a photographer. I read almost everything about them. However, while reading, I became interested in what and how this story goes, sex lessons, and the main female character's growing self-confidence. Although in the end the drama with the best friend appeared as if it had been heard hundreds of times. And sometimes the main character seemed naive. But when I finally closed the book, the emotions were such that I quite liked it.

Okay this book definitely had me feeling all sorts of ways. But don’t get me wrong, there were a scene or two I didn’t like a whole lot and made me kind of mad, but honestly it brought the story together beautifully and I can’t be mad at that!

I really enjoyed this read. I only had a few things that didn't really work for me. One being the amount of times the mmc calls the Fmc queen. I feel it became a little too repetitive. Second I hate masons character. I started to dislike him from the beginning where he took back his proposal like an ass. But by the end of the book just the mention of his name made me feel sick. Poor Avery and thank goodness for Finn. I love the amount of spice, body positivity and confidence building in the story. Overall I really liked this book.

This books show two people coming together to help get over a bad break up, he shows her how to enjoy things and she finds that what she enjoys is him!
great read and you wouldnt be disappointed if you were to pick this up today.

This was actually really really good, it had an interesting storyline and i read it with ease, i would say the lack of a main plotline is the mayor reason my rating is not higher, still there were enough things happening for the book to not be plotless but i was just missing that goal at the end of the book, there was nothing the book was building up to, for it to be resolved at the end, the issues were lots of smaller ones instead of a mayor one which is what helps lead the direction in which you want the book to go. the spice was flawless and i really liked the characters i have nothing to say on that regard.
With that being said im excitedly waiting for the rest of the series.
The author has a lot of potential.

Camera Shy by Kay Cove is a perfect book for friends with benefits turn to lover fan.
Avery just ended her 4 year relationship after his ex declared he lost interest in her. She went to Vegas to recover from the breakup and meet her photographer neighbor. From him, she learns to love herself and embrace herself.
The payback toward the betrayal are so satisfying which reminds me of a drama.
✅ Breakup
✅ Rejection
✅ Neighbor to lover
✅ Plot twist
✅ Betrayals
✅ Hot and confidence boudoir photographer slash neighbor
✅ Sweet confident but soft heart consultant
✅ Angst
✅ Suspense
✅ High sexual tension
✅ Plenty of Spicy scenes: explicit and intense ( anal play)
I'll definitely be looking forward to read the next book by Kay Cove.

Two getting over emotional breakups - the experienced, hot male and the insecure, inexperienced 30 year old female. Exes haunt, and emotions increase - the expected rollercoaster. A good brain break for the weekend or vacation.

After a devastating breakup from a man that she thought was going to propose to her, Avery needs a break from her inner circle and decides to go Las Vegas to fish-sit for a client/friend. Anything to get away from home.. that’s not really even home anymore.
Avery has intense insecurities after this horrible break up. Comparing herself to what her ex-fiancé decided to pursue - which was a gorgeous fitness instructor. She’s aware that she is a fuller figured woman and her sex life has been, well, quite stale.
We meet Finn. He’s a boudoir photographer and his life mission is to uplift women’s confidence. (After what he witnessed with it helping his mother overcome an awful divorce.)
These two become neighbors and strike up a odd deal. She helps him remake his website and build his photography business…And he gives her lessons on… Sex. Confidence. Self Worth.
Finn is honestly one of the most amazing male characters that I have ever read. The way that he sees Avery and the way that he treats Avery had me truly tearing up for these fictional characters. He loved every single bit of her from the top of her head to her very tips of her toes. It just took her a little longer to see herself that way as in her own eyes and in his.
As Avery gains her confidence throughout the book, she also takes charge of her life, and takes out the trash with the people in her life. This book is spicy, beautifully romantic, but it’s also a story of self growth and finding your own self-worth. I absolutely loved this book with my whole heart. Kay Cove is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors
“ But confidence starts with you. A man is going to treat you how you treat yourself. So please, for the love of God, act like a fucking Queen. “

This book started out rocky for me but I feel like Kay Cove pretty thoroughly turned it around. After the FMC is unexpectedly broken up with on her 30th birthday, she falls apart and runs away. Unknowingly running into what could be her whole future if she let it be.
While it took a bit to get there, with a fair amount of bumps twists and turns and a lot of empowerment from the MMC, the FMC goes from full of body dysmorphia and insecurity, to remembering that she's a freaking boss who deserves the world.
<spoiler>**noting quick, I feel like a stark difference between this and some other books I've read where a man's opinion heavily influences the FMC's self perception is the plot point of the "supporting" characters actively tearing her down, which is a massively hard obstacle to overcome solo.</spoiler>
