I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel about this book after reading other reviews. It’s a tough one because I loved watching her fall in love with herself, but it was rough reading how she was judging others based off their bodies. Overall, I loved the story of the two main characters finding not only each other but themselves!
Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

Camera Shy by Kay Cove a new to me author that I hope to read more books by.
Very spicy storyline, liked some of the characters and good storyline.

An absolutely perfect book from Kay Cove! The writing in this is absolutely beautiful and I hope this gets the appreciation it deserves upon release.

I LOVED THIS. i have been wanting to read this for so long and my god in mad it took me so long because holy mother of god this was amazing

I absolutely adored this book! I found it impossible to put down. Avery was such a kind and good-hearted person. It was truly inspiring to see her confront her insecurities and actively work on self-improvement. Finn's unwavering love and acceptance towards Avery, just the way she was, was heartwarming. I was completely invested in their individual struggles, and it was so fulfilling to see them find solace in each other. I would highly recommended!!!

This is the first book I ever read by this author. For review purposes I did a reread. This book always sucks me in from start to finish. Fin and Avery. Fin adored Avery, even though he had to teach her how to love herself. The theme throughout was body positivity and loving yourself. Let's be honest body dysmorphic is real as well. Finn treated her like the Queen she was and Avery had to learn how to accept the treatment on how she should be treated. I absolutely adored this story

This was such a different take on a romance novel, and I liked it!
Many women can relate to how Avery feels in her body, and I really appreciated how her self-esteem issues were written. The chemistry between Avery and Finn was great, and I really enjoyed the forward momentum of their relationship. Looking forward to book 2!

I loved this book in all the body positivity. Avery and Finn's were great. They had good chemistry and the story was perfect. Can't wait for book two!

This was such a sweet and heartwarming read. Which gave me all the feels. Really well written with some drama, spice and laughter. Loved it

As someone who is very self conscious of my body I was able to relate to Avery. By the end of the book I felt as though I myself could even go get some photos taken. The story line was great and that ending twist was a cherry on top! This book was a quick read for me that had me laughing as well as loving the spice. Ste I do wish that there was a chapter at the end that jumped forward a little bit more to give you a idea of what else happens in their journey.

Than you NetGalley for providing me with Camera Shy.
Unfortunately, I could not finish the book. I ended up DNFing around 58%. One of the major issues that I had was that Finn would constantly call Avery “Queen”. There was also a lot of other repetitive dialog between the characters that I just couldn’t get past. Also, the concept of the FMC having body image issues, some parts of it were very dragged out and seemed unnecessary.

This book is a book on body positivity and how important it is to have supportive people in your circle.
Instead of receiving an engagement ring on her 30th birthday, Avery is dumped by her boyfriend of 4 years. Avery hoped for Mason to become her fiancé, but instead she finds out he's a jerk who practically admits he's been disgusted by her physical appearance. Not long after this, one of Avery's best clients asks her to pet sit his fish while he is on vacation. Avery agrees to this, and heads to Vegas, where she meets Finn, her client's neighbor. Avery discovers Finn is a boudoir photographer struggling to bring in more clientele. As a brand consultant, Avery agrees to help Finn in exchange for him teaching her about sex and how to satisfy a man. Of course, over time, they start falling for each other but both individuals have suffered so much from their past experiences, things start to get complicated.
I really enjoyed this book, and I absolutely loved Finn's character. He is good-looking and well off, however he is still humble and kind and ever so sweet. He uplifts Avery, not because it's part of their agreement, but because he genuinely likes her and finds her absolutely beautiful. I didn't, however, like that his terms of endearment were limited. The word "Queen" was definitely over-used, probably mentioned 30+ times. It made it a little cringe at times, and I wish he used other uplifting terms. I also wish the ending was a little different, a little more interesting, however, the book was still good overall.
Thank you NetGalley and Kay Cove for this read!

Thank you to Netgalley and publishers for the eARC.
This book is not your average romance book. Avery is a plus size goddess who gets dumped on her birthday. Fin is trying to get his photography business off the ground without trying to use his dads money. Avery is one of the top marketing executives for the company. So what happens when they meet? Friends with benefits with a lot of strings.
This story really hits home. Fin shows and teaches Avery how to love herself and her body. All she has to give in return is her marketing skills. But who falls first?
That I won’t reveal!

Synopsis
While house-sitting for Dex, Avery meets the neighbor, Finn. Finn is a boudoir photographer and Avery is really self-conscious about her body after a really bad breakup. Finn teaches Avery to love herself and so much more!
- "Teach me"
- "Good girl"
- Neighbors to lovers
- No third act breakup
My Opinion
I really liked the "teach me" lessons, but the term "queen" was used too often. I really liked the storyline, but the twist at the end was rather predictable.
Rating
4 stars; I liked it and will recommend
3.5 spicy pepper emojis; At least two open door scenes, Explicit language and a variety of sexual acts.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely loved the FMC and her growth! I loved that even though her self confidence wasn't where she wanted it to be, she still had a backbone and didn't allow people to walk all over her. It was incredibly refreshing. The writing was also very strong and I will definitely be picking up more by this author

This was sexy but man the heroine was so self conscious. I loved when she finally became comfortable and confident in herself. The hero was swoony and I loved his character.

First of all, how have I not read this book sooner? It was so good!
There's just something refreshing about a romance between a confident, good-looking guy and an insecure, curvy woman. About the woman being astonished a guy like that would be interested in her, then things heat up, and then the woman starts doubting EVERYTHING. Though this romance was fast paced, it was also realistic with the setbacks, the exes, and the toxic best friend.
I loved the humor, the intimate lessons, and the way Avery's eyes were opened up about the people she's known for years. It was heartbreaking, the things she went through, but I was so glad that Finn and Lennox were there to show her about real relationships/friendships are supposed to be. Not to mention how she moved forward with her professional life. That girl deserves everything good in life!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advance e-copy of Camera Shy, in exchange of an honest review.
This captivating book introduces Finn Harvey, a character who will leave you breathless with his charm and unapologetic dirty mouth. His words ignite a fire that will have you longing for more.
Avery, the FMC, undergoes a transformative journey as she gradually gains confidence and recognizes her true worth. Her journey is relatable, inspiring readers to embrace their own strength and potential. The moment she cuts off the toxic influences in her life and focuses on her own well-being is truly empowering.
Finn, too, has his own demons to conquer. Having endured a toxic relationship, his struggle is familiar to many readers. As he sheds the weight of the past, he discovers a new path towards happiness.
The book culminates in a satisfying happily ever after where both Finn and Avery realize that they were meant to find each other. Having faced their past challenges, they now know that their true love lies within the connection they share.
This book is a delightful blend of steamy romance and heartwarming self-discovery. Finn Harvey is a character you won't soon forget, and Avery's journey will resonate with anyone who has ever struggled with self-worth. It has the perfect ending to this captivating tale, leaving readers feeling satisfied and hopeful. This was a solid 4 Star read for me!

I DNF'd this book at 45%. At first, I thought I was really going to enjoy it - it invoked emotions in me, especially when Mason and Avery talked over the phone once she was in Vegas. I couldn't decide if Mason was a good guy who was trying to end the relationship as amicably as possible, or if he was a jerk and was only pretending to be a good guy. I felt for Avery's plight. I was also irritated by Palmer. But then... nothing happened. Yes, she meets Finn and they have sex but it gets so back and forth. He pines. She pines. She self deprecates. He tells her she's beautiful. Even her "breakthrough" moments where she's like "you know what, I DIDNT deserve the way Mason treated me!" are immediately overshadowed by another self-deprecating thought or her deciding she might go back to Mason after all. I also hated her for telling Finn he's nothing more than "Vegas" to her while simultaneously asking him to tell her he cares about her so that she can orgasm. Everything was too wishy-washy for me. I get that your self-image doesn't change over night but I need SOME growth that stays consistent and isn't immediately ignored.

So I had actually read this book July of 2023, and didn’t realize it until I started reading again. Like the first time around I absolutely loved this book. On Avery’s 30th birthday she’s expecting a ring and instead her boyfriend/business partner breaks up with her. Down on her luck when she gets the opportunity to spend the summer in Vegas she takes it. What she doesn’t expect is to strike a deal with her neighbor he helps her save his business and he gives her lessons that help build her confidence. I absolutely love how the MMC supports the FMC it’s something we all want. I love the neighbors to lovers trope and how he teaches her. 💚 thank you #netgalley
