The Seaside Sisters by Pamela Kelly is just a warm, light-hearted, feel-good read that I truly did not want to end. The story is about two sisters… Sara and Hannah. Hannah is a writer who lives in Brooklyn, NY. Sara is a married mom of boys and she lives in Chatham, MA which is where the family’s roots began, and where the majority of the story takes place.

One summer not long after having lost their mother to cancer, Hannah decided to make a visit to Chatham and stay with her aunt. She was hoping the change of scenery would help her remedy some of the writer’s block that she was experiencing while writing her current novel. During that summer, new relationships began, some were rekindled, and Hannah found that there was so much more for her beyond Brooklyn.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I think it is a great poolside/beachside summer read. I want to thank Macmillan Audio and Net Galley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Pamela Kelly returns following The BookShop By the Bay with her charming summer beach read, THE SEASIDE SISTERS.

Hannah, a bestselling author from Brooklyn, NY, is grappling with a profound loss and yearns for a transformative change in her life.

The story unfolds in the picturesque town of Chatham, Cape Cod, where Hannah's older sister, Sara, resides (married with four children) and her Aunt Maddie. This idyllic setting, where they both grew up, adds a nostalgic charm to the narrative.

The sisters are grieving the recent death of their mother. The three women are taking a break from the men in their lives.

Sara is a former librarian who loves literature and is considering working in a bookshop.

Hannah decides to visit Chatham for the summer and her aunt's oceanfront house to return to writing by the sea.

The two sisters get together and start over, meeting Spencer, an old acquaintance from high school, and other friends. A summer of change and new beginnings.

The women bond over wine, good food, coffee, books, the beach, and the meaning of home.

Another charming, lighthearted summer read of self-discovery, second chances, and light romance. Perfect for fans of Sherryl Woods, Viola Shipman, Joanne Demaio, Nancy Thayer, Susan Wiggs, Mariah Stewart, Kristy Woodson Harvey, and Debbie Macomber.

I read the e-book and listened to the audiobook narrated by the talented Stephanie Németh-Parker for an engaging beach escape.

Great Summer Read. Beautiful beach cover matches the book’s vibe. Seaside Sisters is a story of two sisters and an aunt coming together to spend the Summer together after losing their mom and sister. Pam Kelley’s detailed description brings you right to the Cape, the sights, the restaurants, even the meals they eat. An added bonus was the cameos from The Bookshop by the Bay. Stephanie Nemeth Parker is the perfect narrator.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy. My opinions are my own.

I was looking for something light after finishing an intense and emotional read. This book was steady, without any highs or lows, so it was good to clear my head. It’s more melodrama than romance.

The Seaside Sisters by Pamela Kelley chronicles the lives of sisters Hannah and Sara, who are grieving their mother’s death in Chatham, Cape Cod, where their Aunt Maddie also lives. The three of them have problems with their male partners: Hannah has broken up with hers, Sara, a mother of four boys, is frustrated with being under-appreciated by her husband, and Maddie just wants time away from her long-time husband.

There were extensive descriptions of food, drink, attire, mundane daily activities including, putting dinner on, choosing an outfit, and so on. This led to a lot of stage setting, drawing out the forward movement of the story.

A HEA arrived with little angst, fanfare, or chemistry.

The Seaside Sisters is a good choice for those looking for something easy, breezy, and a tension-free escape. The audio narration was solid and easy to listen to.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advance audio copy of the book.

Thank you to Net Galley and MacMillan Audio for the advanced copy of this audiobook. It was a simple quick summer read real life story. Hannah and Sarah are the sister who recently lost their mom to lung cancer. Hannah comes home to the Cape from Manhattan for the summer to regroup and focus on her next rom-com that she is writing. The narrator does a good job of distinguishing between the characters as the story is told from multiple point of views. Put this book on your summer read list for a story about family, struggles and joys. It comes out June 4, 2024.

A cute summer read but nothing too flashy here. A little glimpse into small town life but make it a beach town instead of the middle of nowhere. I do love that they all found ways to make their relationships work, including saving two marriages. I was a little nervous it was going to be a divorcees escape to the beach type thing but it wasn’t that at all. Cute and tactful.

Hmmm this was under the romance category on NetGalley, but I think it’s primarily woman’s fiction than romance. There's definitely some romance discussions and couples going through some bumps, but not your typical romance recipe.

With that said, I still enjoyed listening to the audiobook. The narrator was fantastic, and i loved the tone of her voice. It was very soothing. The storylines were intriguing and I wanted to know what happens! Even though this was a traditional romance novel, it was still predictable like a true romance novel, which is what i do enjoy. I like knowing what’a going to happen. And I always love a HEA

The Seaside Sisters
author: Pamela M. Kelley
narrator: Stephanie Nemeth-Parker
Macmillan Audio
Release Date: June 04, 2024

In The Seaside Sisters, Kelley took me to New York skylines before sweeping me away to the shores of Chatham, Cape Cod. I never looked back until I finished this refreshing, summery novel. Nemeth-Parker's voice captivated me as I listened to her portrayal of the main and side characters in this audiobook. Hearing her narration took me deeper into the locale of Cape Cod, and soothed me into a breezy, relaxed, romantic mood.

Main character sisters are the single Hannah, a New York based author, and Sara, a wife, boy mom, and former librarian living in Cape Cod. Both are dealing with the grief of their mother's death. Hannah returns to Chatham to work on her second book for a summer.

I love a book that transports me to a beautiful setting, as well as those featuring sisters since I love mine so much.
The book flows beautifully with summertime events involving careers, family, and friendships. The tenderness and ebb and flow of marriage, as well as the excitement and anticipation of new romances are both featured in the love stories within the plot. Make room for this book in your summer bag for patio, oceanside, or book nook reading!

I received an advance listener's copy from Net Galley and Macmillan Audio. My review is my own.

The Seaside Sisters was exactly what I needed to listen to. It was a sweet summer story that had all the feels. I really liked the main character Hannah, her sister and the boy next door, Spencer. The story was somewhat predictable but in a way that was enjoyable. I would recommend this audiobook/novel to anyone looking for a light summer read that is sweet and innocent but has enough depth to keep you interested. The narration was well paced and pleasing to the ear.

Thank you to Net Galley, Pamela Kelley and Macmillian Audio for the opportunity to preview this novel. The release data is expected to be June 4, 2024 just in time for summer reading!

Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read both the Book and listen to the Audiobook for The Seaside Sisters.

This is a fantastic beach read. It starts out following an author who's mother has died and she comes back to her home town to try and deal with it while staying with her Aunt. I love the books where someone comes home and ends up changing their life by doing that. I enjoyed all the relationships in this book and the ending made me smile out loud. I wish there was a sequel to this so we could see what happens down the road and with the other people.

The narrator was great and made the story flow.

Loved this! A great summer read. Following a young writer on her journey through life after her mother passes. You won’t retreat picking this one up. I couldn’t put it down!

This was audio read and it was so well narrated. This was a perfect beach read. The characters were well done and it was a sweet story. It’s a perfect palate cleanser between heavier book topics. Very much enjoyed!

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan for an ARC of Seaside Sisters!

This is a super cozy, summer romance great for fans of Elin Hilderbrand!

I mostly enjoyed this story, but there were a few things that didn’t work for me. Despite the interesting characters and idyllic setting, the story seemed to move slow. I also thought epilogue felt clunky and rushed. To me it didn’t make much sense to have a proposal right after saying I love you for the first time.

Finally, there seemed to be a good deal of extraneous details that didn’t further the plot or add to the overall vibe of the book.

Cute story, but it left me somewhat indifferent.

The Seaside Sisters is a fun, heartwarming story about the lives of Sara, Hannah and their aunt Maddie. During the summer in Chatham, Cape Cod, the story follows the different point-of-views for each character as they navigate changes in their relationships, while also dealing with the loss of Sara and Hannah's mother.

I did enjoy this story, but I wasn't overly invested in what happened to the characters. Although Hannah seems to be the main character, I found her story to be kind of bland and resonated more with her sister Sara as she deals with juggling her new job and still being a full-time mother and wife. I also wish that there was more about the woman dealing with the loss of Hannah and Sara's mother, but it seemed to be a side note to the story and only talked about at the end. However, the descriptions of Chatham, Cape Cod are gorgeous, and the food always made me hungry while listening.

The Seaside Sisters would be a good summer vacation read and I would recommend the audiobook. The narrator was great for the characters, and I enjoyed listening. I am hoping that they fix the long pauses between chapters before publishing. I often had to check my phone to make sure it wasn't paused while waiting for the next chapter to start.

The Seaside Sisters comes out June 4th.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to review The Seaside Sisters. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Pamela Kelley does not disappoint! This is another great addition to her wonderful book collection. I love how her books can be read as stand alone but there are also some characters from other books that appear in these new stories. I love how Pamela Kelley introduces you to new characters while letting you catch up with the old ones that you have grown to love and become invested in.
The Seaside Sisters is Pamela Kelleyś latest novel coming out just in time for those lazy summer days. I had the pleasure of listening to the audio book which is narrated beautifully by Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. The Seaside Sisters Sara and Hannah are both struggling with their careers based on troubles in their personal lives. Sara is the older married sister of 4 children and is searching for a job now that her children have gotten older. Hannah is a new author with a well liked first novel and is struggling to get her second one finished by her deadline
They are both dealing with the loss of their mother as is their Aunt Maggie who invites Hannah to come home to Chatham for the summer to escape the city and enjoy the summer with her and Sara. Hannah agrees hoping the ocean air will help her creativity start to flow.
I highly recommend this audio book as an escape while you walk the dog or fold the laundry

The Seaside Sisters is told from the point of view of both sisters, Sara and Hannah, and also their aunt. Hannah, an author who lives in New York, is experiencing writer’s block. So, when she is invited by her aunt, Maddie, a literary agent, to spend the summer with her, Hannah thinks a change of scenery in her hometown in Cape Cod might do the trick. Her sister, Sara, is a stay-at-home mom, whose kids are finally all school age and can take a part time job at a local book shop. The professional lives of all 3 of these women really appeal to me personally, and I liked living vicariously through their career footsteps.

Hannah is newly single and ready to mingle with both Spencer, a lawyer and high-school crush, and Nihal, and author just in town for a visit. I was instantly a fan of Spencer’s compassionate and hard-working personality, but when he mentions that he is a big fan of the band Pearl Jam, that sealed the deal for me.

I think the author must be a foodie with a keen fashion sense because all of the meals and drinks and outfit choices are described in great detail. The writing is wholesome and light-hearted and I found it an easy, enjoyable read, and the narrator was pleasant to listen to.

This was a super cute read. At first I wasn’t too into the story but it got better as it developed. Hannah and Spencer were pretty likable characters. I liked that they knew they had feelings for each other and didn’t blow up in jealousy when they dated other people.

Tom was the least likable character. He was so self-centered and didn’t seem to care for or love Sarah. Their aunt and her husband were a cute couple.

The only thing that I still don’t know of I liked or didn’t were all the detailed food descriptions. Like was that really necessary? They sounded all delicious but I don’t think they were necessary to the story. And how many times can a person eat a bagel without gaining weight? These women seemed to eat bagels like they were kale chips or something. LOL

All in all this was an entertaining clean romance.

Great Summer read. Hannah grew up on Cape Cod, but she's lived in Brooklyn for 10 years and she loves it. Her mother died a few months before and her house was still sitting there, as she left it. Hannah is an author, but she's been stuck with her writing so she decides to go back to the Cape to visit with her sister, her sister's family, and her aunt and uncle. Her aunt has a large enough home and Hannah is welcomed for as long as she wants to stay.

Almost as soon as Hannah arrives, she starts making new acquaintances and friends. She decides to write in a coffee shop and her writer's block disappears. Her sister is bored being a full time homemaker and mother and she gets a job at a bookstore. And the aunt and uncle have separated. So all is not easy and happy, but Hannah still is enjoying herself.

As is the author's style, the books contains references to real locations, real wines and local specialties at restaurants. The story is easy to read and the relationships have some conflict, but nothing really angsty. It's a fun read, perfect for light summer reading.

I listened to the audio book and the narrator is great.

Another great beach read by Pamela Kelley!!! Yet again Pamela has done an amazing job immersing you in the book setting. A summer story love story with a few small stories set in Cape Cod is sure to make you feel close to the ocean. Pamela did a fantastic job adding small details of specialty foods and local shops to bring this book to life (Can I say I want to try the lobster pot pie, please!!). Overall if you are looking for a cute story to take your mind away to the beach, then this book is definitely for you!
