Loved this motorcycle club story! I enjoyed seeing two rival clubs come together and especially with a woman sharing the lead. Excited for the next one!
I really enjoyed the MC books by Chantel Fernando. This is no different for me. I love the interactions between the members and I feel like the romance itself is the most important part of the book. I do like that there was always a type of situation and danger involved because it adds to the stakes of the book. I did enjoy it.
I absolutely love every book Chantal has written. She has a way of drawing you into her characters' worlds that just melts your heart. I can't wait for you all to read "Love Betrayal."
Book 2 in the Angels and Devils MC series continues so make sure you read the books in order!
After the ending in book 1 I couldn’t wait to discover what happens next and I was pleasantly surprised!
This series continues to get better!
Can MC’s coexist?
That question is put to the test as the high jinx drama of motorcycle life ensues when love is in the air.
Can loyalties to your club be fractured because of that 4 letter word?
Passionate, intense and unending twists I couldn’t get enough of Bella and River’s enthralling story. I am committed to finding out what happens next in this series!
4.5 stars!
I did not read book 1
Going into this, it is a good story.
Not a lot of original dialogue.
I didn't feel a huge connection between river and bella. The whole thing felt rushed and not descriptive enough.
The story, their personalities, their bond, etc.
Overall, decent read. Would've like more though.
I was glad to get Bella and River's story. I knew theirs would be a complicated relationship - - especially with River's job as club enforcer. However, my imagination didn't have a clue just how rough things might get for them. It was also great fun to see Juliana and Romeo and to see their relationship growing and blossoming.
We were given more insight in this book into the inner working of the clubs and the families. It was another good read. I really enjoy reading the books from this world. and look forward to the next one.
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
Love Betrayal is the second book in the Angels & Devil’s MC Series by Chantal Fernando. River and Bella’s story can be read as a standalone.
It wasn’t supposed to happen like this for Bella. She wasn’t supposed to fall in love with the dangerous man, until one night at the bar changed everything for her. And she found herself falling hopelessly in love with River, the Devil’s MC Enforcer. But you see, Bella isn’t new to the MC lifestyle having grown up around the Angel’s MC and all that.
The first time River saw Bella, he knew his heart was hers for the taking. Now, he’s about to uncover all of his truths to the woman who owns his heart. He just hopes his truths won’t scare her away.
My Thoughts:
River and Bella’s romance tale was a breath of fresh air! I loved seeing these two fall head over heels for one another. Chantal Fernando knows how to deliver a romance! She brought all the swoony vibes and heart eyes to Love Betrayal.
Let’s start with Bella. In order to own a club enforcer’s heart, one must be prepared to hear all the dangerously deadly tales without a judging eye. I loved how Bella brought light to River’s darkness. She was a ray of sunshine in his gray skies. I also loved the fact that Bella wasn’t judgemental and gave good advice to anyone seeking help through a situation.
And then we have, River. There was a lot of processing and soul searching that River had to go through in this novel. The things he learned throughout this novel would have set a sane person back a few years. But this man had a bright light to talk things through with. I loved his connection with Bella. She was the person he could depend on. He laid his darkness at her feet and she didn’t even bat an eyelash. She was his person, and he was hers from start to finish. My heart really loved these two. I felt both of their strengths through this novel.
Now for the reason why I gave this book a four star rating. You see, I loved the relationship aspect, I loved the friendships, and I loved the heart of this story. I felt like this novel was a bit rushed in certain moments. Like River’s arrest…ect. I needed a bit more from the suspense moments.
Overall, I really enjoyed Love Betrayal by Chantal Fernando! Bella and River’s romance was sweet and swoony. I couldn’t get enough from the devotion that came from these two. I can’t see the direction Chantal Fernando will take this series next!
*Title: Love Betrayal (Angels & Devils MC Book #2)
*Release date: 6-25-24, Read: 7-4-24
*Author: Chantal Fernando- I've read Love Grudge and gave it 4*
*Format: e-book, 304 pgs.
*Genre: Adult/Women's Fic, MC romance, dark romance
*Tropes: family drama, dual POVs, OM drama
*Look out for: murder, kidnapping, past DV (not H/h), parental neglect/abuse
🙏🏾Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Romance/ Carina Press for this ARC 🧡! I voluntarily give my honest review and all opinions expressed are my own.
*Synopsis: River and Bella start hooking up the same time as Romeo and Julianna but River is the enforcer who kills without emotion while Bella keeps her life more separate from the club. When someone attempts to kill River and Bella's ex boyfriend Mark tries to blackmail her, a bigger plot and long held secret is revealed. Will it ruin River and Bella's chance at love or will it bring them closer?
🎭Characters:
* River-H, the club's enforcer, Romeo's VP
* Bella-h, property manager, took over for cousin Julianna
*Julianna + Romeo- MC presidents of the Devils and Angels MC
*Corey-River's younger sister, raised in the club. She is estranged from their mother Lisa since Matthew.
*Damon-was part of the Angel's MC, loyal to Julianna.
*Rosalind - Julianna's sister who betrayed them with along w/ Romeo's Grandmother Cathy
*Mark-Bella's ex boyfriend
*Lisa-River's mother
*Robert-River's father
🤔My Thoughts: Once again the lies from the past come back in this murder/blackmail plot. River's mother Lisa was abused by his father Robert, losing sight in one eye. River vowed never to be like him, but he's as cold as any killer I've read. Bella's presence softened him a bit, but he doesn't change his ways. Bella made him be honest about his life. What the wife/old lady knows about the club seems to be a constant question in MC romances. Can the woman be trusted and handle it when things get rough, or does she turn a blind eye (no pun intended) ? The women in these books went back and forth, but Bella was solid. I hope we get a book about Corey and Damon, can't wait!
*Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
*Spice level- 4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I love when an author decides to take something like the old fairy tales we all grew up and completely reimagine them in a modern way and with a dirty and imaginative twist. Chantal Fernando has done exactly that with her new series and the second installment takes us on a departure from the tale of Beauty and the Beast that will leave you hot and bothered and wondering if you really missed out as a kid with the original. While book one was definitely a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, I loved how we got a different story to enjoy, even with the time overlap and the fact that we jumped into River and Bella’s relationship a full year into it, after the timeline of the first book. While technically each of these books can be read alone, I highly recommend you read the full series, because otherwise you will be left out of a lot of the subplots, subterfuge, and you’ll feel a little bit confused. This story is filled with drama, emotional turmoil, love, lose, danger, and pain, but in the end is a story of two people having to come to terms with their own natures and the nature of the one they have fallen in love with to decide if they can make a life together. I am dying for the next book in the series and I have high suspicions about who that one will star, even if we haven’t been told for sure.
Bella Callisto never realized that when she followed her cousin Juliana into a bar one night that she’d not only be met with their sworn enemies, but with her future in the form of the sexiest beast shed ever seen. River is the second in command to his cousin who is running two MCs in concert with his new wife now that they have combined and the results have been rocky. He takes on a lot of the dirty work in order to keep his club safe and clean and he never wants Bella to see him as that monster, but in hiding that side of himself he is keeping Bella in the dark in a love of ways and she feels that deeply. The more real their relationship gets, the more Bella demands from him and the more he has to decide how deep he wants her to get in his life, but when a darkness from their past threatens the rocky peace they are all working toward, Bella and River both have to get a little dirty in order to protect one another and those they both love. Bella has to prove that she isn’t as pure as her best thinks she is and that she will always take River just has he comes if they have any chance at not only defeating their enemies, but at having their HEA.
I truly enjoyed their story, though there were a few moments that I were afraid were going to get bogged down in the emotional drama of a couple that was close to breaking. Bella knows that she wants River, but she isn’t sure she actually knows him, and being a strong woman, she begins to push him for the full truth. But soon she starts to question if she can really handle the truth, which just made me frustrated with her a bit—thankfully she got over that pretty quickly when outside danger threatened those she considered under her protection. I could definitely see that she is MD to the core and despite being light to River’s dark, she is a dangerous woman to get on the ropes. River has always lived on the opposite side of the light, protecting his family and club at the expense of his own happiness and soul, but when he takes Bella for himself he knows that he won’t be letting her go. His strength, calm, danger, and darkness never worried me because it was tempered with sweetness, love, caring, and calm so I knew that he wasn’t a psycho that would be a danger to those around him. I loved seeing him finally come to the conclusions that the others knew that he was a good man, despite the “bad” things he’d down in the past to protect his people. I loved seeing him kicking ass and showing Bella that she could give him her heart and trust and he would never let her down. They were obviously meant to be together from the beginning, even if it took them a little bit to realize it.
This story definitely needed to be told, even if it wasn’t the one I was expecting. I truly expected we’d be reading Bela and River’s story from the beginning and all the way through their courtship, instead we jump right into a full developed relationship where two people in love are trying to figure out how to deepen their relationship and last in a world that wants to pull them apart. I loved watching the grow, both individually and as a couple because there really is no truer challenge of a love story than two people, in love, and faced with the hard challenges of day-to-day life and the drama of continuous attacks to their future. Bella’s reservations and fears as she tried to get River to truly open himself to her, the fact that she finally came to understand her own lack of openness, and the drama she brought to their relationship was fascinating and watching her find her way through that maze into the woman she needed to be to win those fights was amazing. River has his own qualms about their future, but he never doubts she is his woman, not from the first moment, and he will fight everyone to keep her—even Bella herself. The passion between these two can be somewhat dark at times as their jealousy and fear lead them around, but it never waned and I don’t imagine it ever will. I am really looking forward to the third story in this series and cannot imagine all the excitement that the couple in that one will lead us on in the adventure of their love story to come. Chantal Fernando has a way with her biker romance, but this new bent on old fairy tales with a dark upgrade is beyond awesome!
Chantal Fernando, never disappoints when it comes to her MC romances. She is always my one click buy. This new series has me glued to the pages, wish these stories were longer. This is the second book, it can be read as a stand alone-but more enjoyable if read in order. This one is about River and Bella, they meet through Romeo and Julianna. River doesn’t date, that’s until he meets Bella; and boy does he fall hard. Except he wants to keep it casual until Bella pushes. All I can say is let the games begin!! What starts out light and easy, gets very complicated very fast. Then you throw in crazy family members and you have the perfect MC story.
Love Chantel's books. This story had drama, action, lies, danger, steam, love and respect all rolled in one. Loved reading River + Bella's story. Right from the start I was hooked. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)…
This is River (Romeo’s cousin) and Bella’s (Julianna’s cousin) story.
I really couldn’t wait to read this book since we met these two in Love Grudge, they already had a little sizzle between them. Then we learn they had a secret thing going on and I needed to know more about these two. This book followed a different pattern in that Bella and River are already in an established relationship and throughout the book they are working on fixing their issues. I am so used to reading the beginning of a relationship and getting to see the start that I rarely get to see the story flow in this particular progression.
I think they might be my favorite couple so far because of how they support each other and don’t lie to each other, they do what is necessary to ensure their relationship, their family and their friends thrive.
4.25stars--LOVE BETRAYAL is the second instalment in Chantal Fernando’s contemporary, adult ANGELS AND DEVILS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is Devils MC VP and enforcer River Montanna, and property manager Bella Callisto’s story line. LOVE BETRAYAL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. River is Romeo’s cousin, and Bella is Juliet’s cousin (LOVE GRUDGE 1)
NOTE: Some of the events of LOVE BETRAYAL cross over with some of the events of book one LOVE GRUDGE.
Told from dual first person perspectives (River and Bella) LOVE BETRAYAL follows several paths including the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. For close to one year, Bella and River have been in a relationship, a relationship that currently has no plans for a future but as Bella is pulled into the world that is our story line hero, Bella reconsiders the direction of their relationship, without a promise or the potential for a happily ever after. When Bella’s past returns seeking something from Bella she is unable to give, the Devils MC ferret out a possible betrayal, a betrayal that hits too close to home. What ensues is the building relationship between Bella and River, and the potential fall-out as the past refuses to let, and the truth will push two people closer together.
The world building focuses on the dysfunctional family dynamics of two families: the Montannas and the Callistos. Years of secrets, lies and betrayals are about to culminate in welcome revelations as well as treachery at the heart of jealousy and retribution.
The relationship between River and Bella is one of immediate attraction but Bella has invested more of her heart than our story line hero. River struggles with his family history, and the possibility of becoming someone he never wants to becomes, as Bella reconsiders her future, going forward. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar and energetic secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we met in the previous story line.We are introduced to Bella’s ex Mark, as well as the return of both Bella and River’s extended families.
LOVE BETRAYAL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and obsession, power and control, family and forgiveness, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, dynamic and daring.

I love books where the couple are already a couple when the story starts, where one of them isn't happy with the way things are and wants it to either move forward or call it off, and that's exactly how this one starts. There were aspects to River and Bella's story that I really enjoyed, but overall it felt like most of their internal conflict as a couple was resolved fairly easily with little angst early on. The mystery and suspense with the Bella's ex-boyfriend was intriguing, but I really preferred if the angst in this one had come from River and Bella as they try to work through their relationship. Bella felt a little out of place in some ways because she grew up in this world, is second to her MC's head, but then seems completely surprised by some of what River does and who he is. That felt a bit unbelievable at times.
The way the other culprit involved in the mystery got handled felt like really poor decision making on the part of the MC heads who are supposed to be so powerful and in control and yet their handling of things led to what was a completely predictable situation at the end. Even though I often enjoy aspects of the way the characters and relationships are written in this author's books, this one was trickier for me. Giving this one 3.5 stars.
I really enjoyed River and Bella’s story - it was such a great addition to this MC series.
I was intrigued by these two after meeting them in book one. You get plenty of action, plot twists and the chemistry Chantal’s stories are known for. I’m looking forward to more books in this MC world.
Love Betrayal❤️🩹
Love Betrayal is the next book in the Angels & Devils MC series and focuses mainly on River and Bella. They met in the previous book when Romeo and Julianna were flirting with each other and courting danger and mayhem😳
Now that the clubs have joined forces, things appear to be going well…that is until it appears someone is following them, but not everything is as it seems and soon an enemy closer than anyone thought shows up to play ball😈
I loved this story..I guessed a few things right but there was a twist I did not see coming❣️Great story and characters and I’m holding thumbs we get more. I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and willingly leave my honest opinion😇
4 1/2 STARS!
Raw, gritty and sensuous! The second book in Chantal Fernando's Angels and Demons MC series picks up soon after book one and the main characters this time around are cousins to Romeo and Julianna who we fell in love with in the first book. River and Bella are equally intriguing and easy to like. He's rough around the edges but willing to learn what she needs when they agree their fling has come to mean too much to them to be anything less than forever. I like the realness in them letting each other see the truth over time and I enjoyed their connection. I felt like there were too many flames left dangling in the fire to make it feel totally wrapped up and I'm sure some of that is intentional to lead into another book for the series, but I felt a little was lacking in the deliverance of a complete story. I do love this world and will happily come back time and time again!
River is a fixer, the man that takes care of the darker parts of the club, the guy that is no stranger to getting his hands dirty when the moment calls for it. Most look at him and think he's borderline crazy, scary even, and definitely very intimidating... well that is except for Bella. She sees a different man, a man she'd like to call her own. But is she really cut out for a life with him?
The pages of Love Betrayal hold a story of a man who has always thought he wasn't meant for love, a man who prefers the single life, and no attachments. Then an angel named Bella stumbled into his life and she changed everything. She was supposed to be a one time thing, but one taste and he knew that'd never be enough. She was meant to be his, and no one was going to take her away. But someone else is trying to have a say in that fact, a very dangerous someone, and River plans on silencing him once and for all.
Once again this author has created a gritty, mildly dark, and uber steamy love story that is so easy to get lost between the pages of, her MC romances are truly incomparable. Her writing pulls you in and doesn't let go, to the point that you become obsessed and have to finish it in one sitting. I truly enjoyed this newest offering in the Angels and Devils MC series, it's captivating words kept my eyes glued to the pages the whole way through! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
If you are interested in instant relationships, then this might be a good book for you. It’s definitely was not for me. The characters were so shallow, absolutely no depth to the relationship at all, and because of that the story was bone dry to me, I’m sad to say. Characters are the foundation of a good story, and they did not do it for me.
