You’ll Never Find Me starts off with a bang, as Margo Angelhart has become established as a private investigator. Although Angelhart Investigations has become a family business, Margo is hanging her own shingle. However, her latest case has Margo working closely with her brother Jack, a former detective who is now a PI like Margo. Each of the Angelhart siblings have their gifts, and they are available to Margo as well.
Margo definitely has a soft side, and one of the jobs she takes is to help out a young mother. Then there is a corporate espionage case, and things get hairy almost from the very start. With her already well-honed deductive skills, and Jack’s years of experience, she does her best to find answers wherever she can, even if this means involving more of the Angelhart family.
Working with others in her family doesn’t make Margo happy, but she proves quite determined to solve the cases she has. The fact that this is the first book in a new series is exciting for me, as I really love Allison Brennan’s writing! It will nearly a year, but I am really looking forward to reading book two, Don’t Say a Word.
Many thanks to Minotaur Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Many thanks to Netgalley for this arc. I received this book in exchange for my honest review. My thoughts are entirely my own.
Allison Brennan does it again!! The first book in the Angelheart Investigation series is an amazing first book with twists and turns and will keep you guessing. I loved every minute of this book, I can’t wait to see what happens in book two. We are following Margo who is a Private Investigator who is hired by a wife who believes that her husband is cheating on her, Margo is quick to realize that the wife lies and that things are not as they seem. Margo goes to spy on the husband and discovers him and another women unconscious after inhaling nitrogen. But unbeknownst to her her brother Jack and sister Tess are also at the house because the women that the husband is with is suspected of corporate espionage. Jacqueline the women is sent to the hospital but disappears before Margo can talk to her. Margo tells the wife that she will no longer be following the husband and try’s to help him follow Jacqueline who found out that someone was embellishing money from a company that Logan the husband was once a partner of and who helped Jacquline get a job their. Turns out that a man named Pearsons was embellishing money and was sleeping with Logan’s wife Brittany who was in league with him. Plus Margo helped a women named Annie escape her abusive cop husband with her two kids and they escaped out of state because he is a cop and is very charming and well liked. Peter the husband and is angered by Annie’s betrayal and as time goes on becomes unstable and becomes consumed with finding his wife and kids and wanting to kill his wife for leaving him. He breaks into Margo’s home and even kidnaps her uncle, a priest, because he helped Annie get in contact with Margo. Peter believes that she knows where Annie is but actually doesn’t she just knows the area where she might be and has no way on contacting her but is able to outsmart Peter and get him arrested. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and think it would make an exciting movie.
I'm hit or miss on Allison's books but this one was really good! Kept me entranced until the satisfying conclusion. Not sure if this is a series? I hope so!
This was an interesting read but I didn’t really enjoy the multiple POVs for each chapter. It was a fast read though and I’ve read other books by this author that I really liked but this one just didn’t do it for me. The mystery was interesting but it just didn’t pull me in like her others.
Thanks to Mira and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
I love Allison Brennan she is an amazing storyteller and her stories in her each of her series are always fresh and new.
You'll Never Find Me is the first in a new series and I understand needing to introduce all the characters, but this one was a little too much for this reader. Each chapter flips between 9 different characters and the unknown thief. That is 9 different characters who all have different viewpoints that can be hard to follow at times.
Overall this is a great beginning to a new series. Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this new series by Allison Brennan
I just adore Allison and all her books. I’ve yet to find one that didn’t hit for me and this continues that narrative!
I really enjoyed this book, and it was a very fast-paced book that kept my attention. Between the family drama and the investigations bringing them together, it was a solid read with a few twists that I honestly didn't expect. I appreciated that "the thief" was named that for a while, and when I THOUGHT I figured out who it was, I was wrong. I did ultimately figure out what went on before finishing the book, but it was a great read, and I can't wait to experience the rest of the series of Angelheart Investigations.
Thank you to NetGalley and MIRA for the advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
Margo Angelhart is a PI who sometimes breaks the rules to do what’s right. She’s helped Annie leave her husband after years of abuse, but now the husband is after Margo. Meanwhile, Margo’s siblings have their own PI business and some of their cases are overlapping with Margo’s. This first installment of a new series by Allison Brennan has the same gripping mystery as her others. Told through several perspectives, with Margo’s perspective the only chapters using first person, readers are thrown into these cases. The cases aren’t related, but they’re interesting enough that readers won’t mind. This is another must read by Brennan.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great book by Ms. Brennan, and hopefully a start to another great series!! A family PI business, and the one odd woman our due to a family conflict makes for a great read. Very good character development and a nice, strong female lead. 2 very interesting story lines that do keep you very well hooked
Margo has her own private investigation business, and she is good at it. Margo's family also has a successful private investigation business are , but Margo and her family do not work together because Margo is estranged from her family. When a case Margo is working becomes involved with a case the rest of the family is working, she agrees to work together with them. This story, set in Phoenix, has several threads and well developed characters. Family ties are important to the story, and since Margo and her family have reunited there will probably be a sequel, which I will surely read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc and for no pressure for a positive review.
I enjoyed the first book in the series so I was thrilled to start the sequel! it was fun to reunite with the family and get reintroduced to them. The case was perplexing and complex, full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages. My thanks to the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
You’ll Never Find Me by Allison Brennan is about a family of Private investigators, one Margo Angelhart, who has gone off on her own struggling to survive on her own after a family disagreement that she’s not sure will ever be healed. When Margo gets a small case that crosses over to a big case, her family PI business is also working she has to force herself, to work somewhat together before someone dies.
A story about a family who are exceptional in their work but lack the ability to reunite their family. A head of the family PI business is in prison for a crime that Margo believes is not his doing but the rest of the family bow to the new head, their mother to let it alone, Margo won't
The story is good and I liked Margo and her family.
Allison weaves her story through the intricate details. Margo and her estranged family unite to solve the mystery and during that try to keep everyone safe as well. A client who isn't who she says she is, and suddenly disappears, white collar crime investigation, and even the possibility of murder all tangled together,
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this eARC this is my honest opinion. I do recommend this book for its characters, content, and interest level.
I love author Allison Brennan! You'll Never Find Me" had me hook right from the start. She does a wonderful job jumping to and from each character's viewpoints/storyline, while also keeping the storyline moving seamlessly though. If you love mysteries, crime, and complexities to the storyline, this is one you will want to get your hands on. The reader is quickly able to bond with the characters and I found myself invested very quickly and I could not put this one down! Highly Recommend!
Big thank you to both NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing | MIRA for the ARC copy of this one!
I am a fan of Allison Brennan & have most of her novels on my shelf. I was so excited to get a new series!
While I did enjoy the complexity of the characters and the chaos of the family drama and dynamics, I felt that this one was missing more suspense for me to really get into it. I was able to predict where this was going, so it fell a little short.
Will definitely still pick up more of Brennan's work though!
I enjoyed this new book/series by Allison Brennan. You get to read from several different points of view. When Margo teams up with her family to figure out what is going on with each other's cases, things get interesting. A lot of different things are happening at once but in the end it all makes sense. This will be a good series to keep reading. I am leaving this review voluntarily after being sent a free book.
A thrilling novel and new series by Allison Brennan. Margo Angelhart, a private investigator is challenged to work on a case with her family’s PI company, one she left after a huge disagreement with her mother. Their case overlaps and intersects and all of them need each other’s input to get to the bottom of things.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Have read all of Allison's books and they never disappoint. a Good story that kept me going from beginning to end and will definitely be on good beach reads for the summer
Allison Brennan has me hooked. This is a new series from her and I already cannot wait for more. The Angelhart family has a unique dynamic and I feel that there is much more to their story than what was shared in book one of this series. I am so excited for the rest of this series.
Margo is my favorite character in this book. She has spunk, determination, and loyalty. I love her style of doing her PI work. She works hard and does not take what she sees at face value. Her determination and loyalty makes her the perfect PI for a series of books that I look forward to reading more of.
I give this book a full 5 stars!!
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC!
Margo has a heart of gold and a passion for justice as she helps an abused wife disappear from her police officer husband and even cleaning out her bank account to help her start over. Although Margo has gone out on her own as a private investigator she has learned the business through her family who also own a firm. So when a woman offers to pay her handsomely to investigate and document her cheating husband, she takes the job to pay the bills even when her instincts tell her he is faithful. and the wife has motives of her own. Her case collides with her family's as they are also investigating him and the company he runs for a corporate imbezzling issue. As they agree to put differences aside, the stakes get higher and higher as they search for the key to they mystery, Jennifer White who has gone missing. She has to decide how much she trusts her instincts and her family before someone she loves gets hurt. Allison Brennan has does it again -- this is a fun investigative suspense with great twists and Margo is a smart and likeable heroine. Looking forward to the next one!
I like Allison Brennan's stories. I have read her Lucy Kincaid series and am also reading Max Revere. I was very happy to receive an ARC from #netgalley.
The story has a solid story line with the potential of this being a series. The star of the show Margo, is a champion for the under dog. It's too bad her relationship with her mom and family by extension is a bit strained. There is a lot happening in this book, in two parallel stories almost.
There is a lot of back and forth between story lines and characters, and I really had to focus to make sure I was on top of the story. I struggle to tie this storytelling style with that of the Lucy Kincaid series. And that is probably on me.
I am looking forward to reading more from this author and on this series. Thank you NetGalley for sending me this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
