Samantha Chase is the queen of sweet small town romances, and Devin and MacKenzie were such a fun listen in Finding You, narrated by the always incredible Carly Robins.

Revisiting Sweetbriar Ridge is always so enjoyable, but MacKenzie stumbled upon this quirky little town by complete chance. She's just found out her ex was cheating on her, and she leaves Syracuse and decides to drive West to start over. Of course, life had other plans for her because when her car decided to completely break down on her, she's ready to give up! Now I just need to figure out how to have a handsome stranger like Devin stumble upon me in a rainstorm draped over the hood of my car and offer to help me out and give me a place to live and a job while I get my life sorted out!

Theirs was a bit of a whirlwind romance, but that's the fun with books - they're that perfect escape from reality, and this book was an enjoyable listen from start to finish!

This is an installment in the Sweet Briar Series, can be a stand alone but the back story would add another element to the story line and character development. This story takes the damsel in distress story and makes it even better. With a broken down car and broken dreams her life has not been easy, but with the love of a new man. Devin is the perfect leading man with his sweet caring side mixed with his good looks and small town charm. I loved MacKenzie and Devin together and really enjoyed seeing their relationship unfold. I think it is so relatable as many of us can't quite figure out where we are supposed to be or what we are supposed to be doing until we stumble into the right situation or person while others of us have their lives planned out for years and start checking off goal points as they go. However, as they say you can plan all you want, but life will come along and laugh at you! A sweet romance story in a small town that will have you swooning with delight. If you are looking for a light romance read that will just leave you content, this is your book. If insta-love is your jam, then this is also your book. It didn't leave me with lots of butterflies but it also never emotionally broke me so it is just a nice in between sweet romance. Thanks to Dreamscape Media, Valentine PR, and NetGalley.

ALC Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This audio was so sweet and cute, it had hallmark vibes in the best way. MacKenzie was lost and not sure what to do next with her life while Devin is established in his smalltown. He finds her stranded when her car breaks down, and they both fall fast!

Devin is so freaking sweet, this man is such a gentleman and I loved every minute of him in this book. He falls so hard for her and really shows his love through acts of service which I love. Mackenzie is so unsure of herself, I loved seeing her find herself and figure out where she fits.

One of my favourite things about this book was the side characters. The whole town was so invested in them, but in a sweet and welcoming way. The girl group was so funny!

💛Small town
💛Hallmark vibes
💛Cinnamon roll MMC
💛Steamy romance
💛Forced proximity
💛Found family

Thank you to NetGalley for this ALC

I love Samantha Chase and I love her Donovan’s series - both sides of the family in both towns (Laurel Point and Sweetbriar Ridge). Finding You is a short(er) story about two connected characters in Sweetbriar Ridge that aren’t relatives, but are important to the Donovans.

Devin is the town mechanic, who happens upon Mackenzie broken down on the side of the highway as he returns to town. She’s driving a sweet classic car, which catches his attention. Helping with the car repairs is just the first of many things he does for the girl who’s just passing through town on the way to an estranged mother on the other side of the country… they form a friendship and then a tight bond quickly and she has a hard time leaving when her car is fixed.

A very sweet interim Donovan story but not quite up to the level of the rest of the series (or the other Chase books I’ve read). I know it’s connected to the other books but it’s very loose ties so can be a complete standalone.

Audio is released before ebook and I enjoyed Carly Robins performance as always - you know you can count on her to bring an excellent performance every single book! I definitely associate her voice to this series.

I received an advance listen copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media (Chasing Romance, Inc.), and this is my honest feedback.

Finding You is the third book in Samantha Chase’s Sweetbriar Ridge series. Devin Maxwell is doing well! He owns the best, albeit only, garage in Sweetbriar Ridge, has several good men working for him, and has finally taken a long weekend to visit his grandparents. As he travels home from his visit thinking about how he has achieved so many goals and what he wants to do next, Devin encounters a broken down classic Mustang with a curvaceous young woman bent over the engine under the open hood. As Devin pulls over to help her, Mackenzie Holland, a very gun shy young woman, hesitates his offer of help. But stranded on a very lonely mountain road, and with a dead cell phone, it seems accepting Devin’s help is the only real option.

Devin has dreamt of restoring a classic muscle car such as Mackenzie’s Mustang and offers Mackenzie free towing and fixing the car’s issues. Not accustomed to anyone offering her help but in no position to not accept Devin’s offer, Mackenzie goes back to Sweetbriar Ridge with Devin only to discover there is no place to stay other than Devin’s guest room. And there is no way to pay for the repairs except to accept Devin’s offer to manage his office and front desk.

This only scratches the surface of this delightful tale. Although this story only touches on the Donovan family as Devin’s friends, they are still integral to this very interesting story. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Finding You is part of The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. It's a strangers to roommates, small town romance.

Mackenzie and Devin's story is fast paced with a small town vibe. This one has all the feels, an insta-connection, great chemistry and a swoony MMC. I loved the small town feel and how the whole town wanted to help and was in everyone's business. This was for sure a sweet, enjoyable romance.

Carly Robins did a great job portraying these characters.

I love my visits to Sweetbriar Ridge and I love catching up with the Donovans and their families and friends. I fell hard and fast for local car mechanic Devin Maxwell, he is the man i wish knew when I was younger.
Carly Robbins did a great job with the narration bringing the characters and their story to life. She was easy to listen to and she was spot on with the emotion, love and angst. I have to say that I wish there had been a male narrator on board as well because that would have taken this narration to another level.
Mackenzie Holland’s classic car has broken down and it’s Devin who comes to her rescue. What follows is an emotional yet entertaining journey that I highly recommend.
Finding You is book 2 in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge and it’s the perfect book to add to the series. I swooned, I smiled and I held my breath whilst cheering Devin and Mackenzie on.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I listened to book two of this series (The Donovans) and enjoyed it, so I was excited to also listen to the next book, Finding You. To be honest, I thought the next book was going to be a different couple, based on the last quarter of the second book. I was happily surprised that this book was about Devin, the owner of the mechanic shop in Sweetbriar Ridge. I really wanted to love this book, but about 50-60% through the book, I started to get bored. There wasn't enough happening in the story line to keep my attention. I felt like McKenzie kept having the same interactions with the same characters over and over again. The interaction with her mother wasn't the sweet and predictable outcome, but definitely more realistic, which I appreciated. I also liked the scene where she was driving at the end of the book. I thought it was a good way for the characters to move forward, and it was super cute. #FindingYou #NetGalley

This is a very basic romance that uses the “stuck together” trope. The spice level includes build up, but the door is never open. It felt a bit too light in almost every aspect and I failed to be able to make a connection to the story or characters.
Ultimately, I think this style of romance just isn’t for me. I like easy light reading, but this just isn’t my particular flavor. Could be perfect for someone looking for a small town romance with low/no spice.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy for my honest opinion.

Finding You is such a cute story about MacKenzie and Devin. Devin finds MacKenzie stranded on the side of the road with a broken down car just as her life has also fallen apart. Hesitant, MacKenzie stays with Devin and works for him while her car is fixed so that she can be on the road to meet her mother. With no other family, MacKenzie feels like she has to find her mother, who left her when she was a young girl, and is determined to drive to Oregon to make that happen. However, spending time in Sweet Briar Ridge with Devin and all of its wonderful people has MacKenzie realizing she might not be ready to leave just yet.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The narrator does a great job and she made this book an easy listen.

I loved Devin, he really was a good guy who fell in love with MacKenzie the moment he saw her. He did so much for her and I really liked that he was genuine with everything he did for her. I also thought it was good that there were parts where he would get frustrated with Mackenzie and call her out on what was going on. I liked MacKenzie, but sometimes she even frustrated me as a listener when it came to Devin. I felt like she wanted him to be the one to start everything between them. I did like how she was open to being friends with the other women in town. I loved that they were open and wanted her to be a part of their friend group.

Overall, this was such a cute, small town romance, love at first sight audiobook. I would definitely recommend this book if you want a cute, quick listen.

Prepare for 8 delightful hours of a charming small-town romance featuring a lonesome mechanic, Devin, and MacKenzie, who embarks on a cross-country journey toward a fresh start. Although part of a series, it can be read (or listened to in the case) as a standalone.

After catching her cheating boyfriend red-handed, MacKenzie impulsively packs a bag and sets out on a cross-country roadtrip to start anew. Along the way, her car breaks down, leaving her stranded on the side of the road. As luck would have it, Devin, a passing mechanic from Sweetbriar Ridge, offers to repair her car. She accepts reluctantly but finds herself with no accommodation and not enough money to pay for the repairs. Devin, ever the gentleman, offers her his spare bedroom and temporary employment in his workshop to cover the costs.

While the outcome may be predictable (thanks to their close proximity), the sparks flying between Devin and MacKenzie are heartwarming and make for an endearing and loveable couple. The secondary characters, likely from earlier books in the series, play a role in bringing them together and become like a found family for MacKenzie.

While 8 hours may seem like a lot, trust me when I say you'll likely find yourself binge-listening to this audiobook in one sitting. Carly Robbins does a fantastic job narrating this book.

This was a fairly predictable but cute romance. It’s a little frustrating that she gave up so easily on tracking down her mom but who could honestly give up a hunk like Devin?

🌀Synopsis
MacKenzie’s car breaks down in the middle of nowhere but thankfully Devin happens to be on his way home when he finds her. He also happens to own the nearest mechanic shop too. Low on funds, MacKenzie isn’t sure she can afford the repairs and she’s desperate to keep heading west. Heading to find her mom.
With the town hotel fully booked, Devin decides to make MacKenzie an offer. He can stay at his house for free and he’ll repair her truck if she agrees to do some office work for him. He needs to hire someone for the front desk but until then it is chaos. She agrees, knowing it’s probably the only way to get her on the road again. She quickly falls in love with the town, the girls who treat her like one of their own, and it’s not long before she’s in love with Devin too.
Still convinced she wants to find her mom but not sure she wants to leave him, MacKenzie and Devin have a couple little white lies that keeps her in town a little longer. Now she needs to decide if she’s done running or if she wants to skip town and leave her heart behind.

What a great way to have an audio exclusive story!

This story is really a spinoff of the Donovans since it's part of that series but only available in audio, so I'm sure the author wanted to put them in a world that readers already are loving. This can be listened to as a complete standalone.

Devin and MacKenzie are so perfect for each other. I kept asking myself, too, why is Devin single? He is the perfect book boyfriend! MacKenzie doesn't trust easily and it doesn't take her long to trust Devin and let him into her heart. We get to see all of our favorite Donovans in this series! I think this was a perfect way to write and exclusive story within a series. I hope that we will see more of Devin and MacKenzie in the rest of the series!

Carly did a great job as usual narrating this story. Loved it!

In the tender pages of this heartfelt romance, the intricacies of broken families finding solace and forming unexpected bonds come to life. From the outset, the narrative envelops readers in a world where love blossoms amidst adversity, crafting a mosaic of emotions that resonate deeply within the soul.

What distinguishes this narrative is its exploration of found families - those chosen connections that become pillars of support and companionship. As the characters navigate life's trials together, they uncover the transformative power of genuine relationships, forging ties that endure through hardship and joy alike.

Dialogue serves as the lifeblood of the story, seamlessly blending humor with moments of profound sincerity. Whether through light-hearted banter or heartfelt conversations, each exchange feels authentic and compelling, drawing readers deeper into the lives of the characters.

As I accompanied these captivating individuals on their journey, I was moved by their shared experiences of love, loss, and ultimately, redemption. Their stories serve as a poignant reminder of the resilience inherent in the human spirit and the profound impact of meaningful connections.

In summary, this romance offers a touching portrayal of the human experience, celebrating the beauty of found families and the enduring power of love. With its evocative narration, engaging characters, and poignant dialogue, it leaves an indelible mark on the heart long after the final page is turned.

Devins meets Mackenzie on the side of the road after her car breaks down, he helps her and takes her to Sweetbriar Ridge! This was such a cute meet moment and the story line was good & also funny.

Read if you like small town romance & meddling people

Devin was truly the sweetest & I can’t wait to continue with the rest of the series.

Also the narrator was really good

Thanks to dreamscape media and NetGalley for providing me with this audio in exchange for my honest review.

When I first requested this book, I didn't realize it was part of a series. But you best believe I've binge read this whole series (and the original Donovan series) in 4 days.
Then I was surprised that this is sort of a spin-off of that series due to not being about any of the Donovans. I guess the characters will play a big part in the rest of the series since their story had to be told? (Even though Avery and Leo didn't get a book...) I'm not sure. It felt odd to have non-Donovan related characters as the main characters in a series strictly surrounding the Donovan siblings. I feel like this could have been in a spin-off series called Sweetbriar Ridge.
Even so, I liked the book. Especially all the scenes with the characters we already know and love.

Devin and MacKenzie were cute characters. I like them both together and separate.
Devin is an all-round good guy. A definite knight in shining armor. MacKenzie is a quintessential damsel in distress, searching for a place to belong after her dad passed away and she caught her boyfriend cheating.
I'm not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope, instalove, or "hiding all my feelings" trope, and this book had all three. I'm glad everything was cleared up fairly quick. This book also had found family, and I liked how the whole town embraced Mac like she was their own.
The ending was adorable, with Devin's grand gesture.

Narration: Carly did a great job narrating the book. I do wish there was a male narrator for Devin's POV.

3.5/5 stars.

5 Star Review Finding You (The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge #2) by Samantha Chase
Audio review:
I have a new book boyfriend. I fell hard and fast for Sweetbriar Ridge car mechanic Devin Maxwell. Such a caring, swoon worthy man who ticked all the boxes for me. Coming to the rescue of MacKenzie Holland whose classic car has broken down, starts a chain of events that neither of them expected.
This was an entertaining, well written story with characters who you cannot help but become invested in. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces make an appearance in Finding You, which added another layer to the story. I will admit that I was frustrated by the lack of communication between Devin and MacKenzi ear times, so much heartache caused unnecessarily.
Carly Robbins narrates Loving You and she did a good job with her performance. Her voice is easy to listen. My only comment is that her male voices let the narration down and I would love it a man narrated the male characters. She brought the angst, romance and passion to the characters and did justice to the story that Ms. Chase wove. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This book is solely in audio version, narrated by Carly Robbins. The narration is superb. There is lots of energy as well as sweetness and also spunk.

This really is a sweet story of two people meeting because of a broken down car. The attraction is instantaneous, but not acted on immediately. There are secondary characters in this small town romance that scheme to get Devin and MacKenzie together when it seems that they might need a little help.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media, Valentine PR, and NetGalley for the audio. All thoughts are my own.

What a treat it was listening to this Sweetbriar Ridge bonus story! MacKenzie and Devin absolutely stole my heart! I was completely captivated by their sweet, entertaining, and steamy story. MacKenzie Holland packed up her vintage mustang and started a cross country trip to visit her estranged mother after leaving her cheating ex. Her car broke down outside of Sweetbriar Ridge in the pouring rain. Lucky for her, Devin Maxwell, who owns an auto shop there, finds her and helps her out. Her car is a dream car to work on but he also is attracted to it's owner. He offers her a place to stay, and a job at his shop to help pay for the repairs. MacKenzie fits in perfectly at his shop, his friends, the town, and is especially is perfect for him. They love spending time together, and their chemistry is off the charts. But MacKenzie is at a crossroads, loving where she is, but also wanting to connect with the mother she never knew. Will she continue on her journey looking for her hearts desire, or will she realize she has already found it with Devin, and all her new friends in Sweetbriar Ridge? I really loved both MacKenzie and Devin so much! MacKenzie was smart and caring and I totally swooned over Devin, who is protective, thoughtful, and sweet. They were so perfect for each other, and their chemistry was combustible. I loved all their friends who were loyal and supportive and added so much heart to this story. I also loved all the clandestine activities that made this story even more fun!
Carly Robins brought this story to life so beautifully. She did a terrific job capturing each characters personality, and I love the emotion, and passion she brought to her performance. She had me completely invested in these characters and their story. I really enjoyed listening to this sweet, witty, and steamy romance!
