Thank you @netgalley and @stormbooks_co for the eARC of Her Pretty Lies by @angelahenry_author in exchange for an honest review.

📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 I started this book one night before bed thinking I would just read one chapter to get a first impression and then put it down. That was clearly delusional thinking because Her Pretty Lies is not a book to casually pick up and then put down. Get ready for a gripping page turner! Kendall has had a tough life but she has big dreams and is not going to let anything derail her. Except the universe definitely seems to have it out to throw every single obstacle possible on her path….and she’s not exactly an innocent party. When she meets MacKenzie, Kendall has hope for a solution to her problems but could not be that she is in an even bigger mess? Angela Henry creates an impressive web of lies, deceit, and endless questions that will keep you turning the pages!

Whoa! I don’t know what just happened.

Kendall just got a huge scholarship for her masters snatched right up from her. Then, her wonderful boyfriend does something hideous to cause their breakup. Now she’s homeless and broke. No way to fund the semester herself.

Kendall is approached by another student with a plan to get her out of her jam. However, their plan fails miserably.

All these characters have secrets. Every single one of them. Twists after twists were making my head spin. Who’s telling the truth and who are the liars? I enjoyed this suspenseful read up until the 80% mark. The last 20% had twists galore, which lowered my rating to 3.5 ⭐️.

If you’re a fan of Freida MF and Daniel Hurst, you’ll love this. Thanks so much Storm Publishing, NetGalley and Angela Henry for the opportunity.

If you’re looking for a book with twist after twist then Her Pretty Lies is the book for you. I really enjoyed reading the story through Kendall and Mac’s point of views. This book is fast paced, the twists keep coming and just when you think you’ve figured everything out Angela Henry hits you with another one. I really love this authors writing style after reading The Perfect Affair so I knew I had to read Her Pretty Lies and I’m so glad I did. Great storyline, multiple secrets and twists, family, romance and a great ending. Definitely add Her Pretty Lies to your TBR.

Angela Henry's book is a thrilling rollercoaster ride from start to finish! It's packed with murder, deception, tension, and twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved how the story unfolds through multiple points of view and timelines, adding layers of complexity. The characters felt so real, and the way their relationships intertwined kept me hooked. Just when I thought things might settle down, bam! Another twist hits you, keeping the adrenaline pumping throughout.

Thank you to Angela Henry, Storm Publishing, and NetGalley for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

The paramedics tell me I’m in shock as they load the body bag into the ambulance. Only days ago, I had everything. A man I wanted to marry. A prestigious fellowship for graduate school. A perfect new apartment. I’m a psychology student. I should have known she was hiding something from the start…
Now I’m shivering under a foil blanket wondering how my life became a nightmare. And when the paramedics check me over, it’s not concern I see on their faces. It’s fear. They think I did this. They think I killed her…

I've never read Angela Henry before, but I certainly happy to have found her. The whole premise of this book had me very interested. In the midst of murder, deception, tension, and twist after twist, this book is an edge of your seat thriller from beginning to end. This book has multiple POVs and timelines and that is almost always a hit for me and this was no exception. Along with the complex plot lines of the different interpersonal relationships and how they all tie in together, I really felt like I got to know these characters on a personal level. Every time I thought the story was going to slow down, the author hits you time and time again with another twist or revelation that sent my head spinning! If you're looking for a gripping, fast paced story that is going to get you hooked and relentlessly keep you guessing until the end, this is the book for you! Do not miss out on this wild ride that publishes May 3, 2024.

Drama, twist upon twist, and lies are what make up this novel. The uncertain mysteries that lie ahead will have you pointing fingers in every direction. Who can be trusted when life goes from bad to worse? The plot has a lot of drama filled events keeping your attention. I will recommend to others who like psychological thrillers. I rate it 3.5 stars based on all the rabbit holes it takes the reader down. It left my head spinning and I honestly think it would be great without so many twists.

Lies. Deception. Affairs. Murder. Death. DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA.

Kendall loses her fellowship which would help her pay for college and makes a deal with Mackenzie who is willing to give her money in exchange for her help. But who else knows about this arrangement and what are their motives? Is Mackenzie who she says she is? And what of her controlling mother and estranged father?

This book starts off dramatic, and keeps that train rolling until the end. When I thought the story was going to settle, it picked up speed right again by churning out revelation after revelation. There were many plot lines - Kendall's relationship with her parents, Mackenzie, Liv and Cal, Mackenzie's relationship with her parents, both their parents' relationships with each other and plenty of other side character relationships. While this kept the story interesting and fast-moving, there was overall too much going on for me, which ultimately made the reveals difficult to digest.

Kendall is notified that she is no longer winning this award which would pay for college and all of her living expenses. Once she catches her boyfriend cheating, and is kicked out of her residence, she accepts money and an offer to help Mackenzie graduate from college. Kendall starts getting letters and blackmail emails, which later result in someone trying to frame her for murder. So many characters in this book that all end up tied together in shocking ways. Good book. Good suspense.

Despite her name, Kendall Good is not having a good day. Told by the Dean of Arts and Sciences at the college she is due to attend, that a last minute issue has been raised, meaning that the fellowship awarded to Kendall has been withdrawn whilst the will of the donor is contested. Leaving the building in somewhat of a daze, Kendall then slams into someone, causing the innocent party to steady her. Returning home she discovers her longtime boyfriend having more that a coffee in their bed with his long ago ex. To add insult to injury when Kendall discovers that the apartment she was due to move into is no longer available due to her lack of funds, it really sums up what a bad day she’s having. Luckily a saviour is on hand to save the day.

This really is a story that has everything. Lies, deception, identity fraud, murder, petty thieving, grand larceny, drugs, sex workers, etc, etc.! The list goes on. As a reader you are never bored, something different soon pops up. Lots of twist and turns, some well signposted but others more sneaky.

An enjoyable, quick and easy read, with events that at times defy logic. The final chapters are a little convoluted so pay attention!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm.

What a page turner this book turned out to be!
I was hooked from page one. This story has so many twists, turns and surprises. Kendall, the main character, is a grad student who just lost her grant money and needs to figure out how to pay for rent/school. She meets a girl willing to help her out. But at what cost? Things aren’t what they seem. So many lies lies lies. This story also has Kendall’s past struggles with her family weaved into this tale.
Just when I thought I knew what the truth was, author, Angela Henry, reveals more secrets!

Thanks to Netgalley and Storm publishing for this eArc !

So.Many.Lies!! Angela Henry has crafted a thriller that leads from the title - Her Pretty Lies. With so many lies, it is difficult to tell which “her” is telling the truth. Twists, turns, cliff drops - this is one extreme rollercoaster of a story! Captivating from start to finish and intense in between.

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Kendall is about to start her fellowship with a scholarship. Then the Dean calls her into his office telling her the scholarship is no longer available. It is the start of a bad day.

Her Pretty Lies by A. Henry, published by Storm Publishing, is a thriller of its finest.
Fast paced, complex kept me the story in suspense til the last page.
A story excellent told, full of unexpected twists and turns that had me hanging on the edge of my seat, had me guessing till the very end.
The story starts in 1999, goes over 2011 to 2023, is told in first and third pov, is located in multiple places, is heartwrenchingly, raw and gritty, an highly suspenseful read.
Kendall and Mac are sisters who lead totally diffenrent lives. One of them is mentally ill, the other one the vcitim. Lean back and enjoy the wild ride the book will take you on. I recommend the book.
