What a whopping great collection of stories this is! I have read and loved Watson's novels, The Heaven of Mercury and Miss Jane as well as story collections Last Days of the Dog-Men and Aliens in the Prime of Their Lives. Now we have, posthumously published, the remainder of his short fiction which is as varied and off kilter as anything earlier. A must read and weep sort of book.

Brad Watson’s new book is a minor bonanza of exciting prose fiction. Although you can see his influences (McGuane, etc.), his voice is his own. These are entertaining stories that should gain a wide readership.
