I always look forward to the next Vivien Chien book. Another fun installment full of family, mystery, and food!

A continually fun series. There's not much more I can say other than I'm glad I stumbled into it and read every book in a month and a half! The characters are diverse and so fleshed out, and my desire for Chinese food knows no bounds after reading this. Especially noodles lol I will read and purchase every book in this series no matter how long it lasts. Honestly I hope Vivien is the Asian Ivanovich!

I have recently discovered the Noodle Shop Mystery series and was delighted to find Vivien Chen had Peking Duck and Cover available so I could see if my infatuation with book 1 continued with her latest. I’m so happy to report that it does!

While these novels have the added bonus of making me hungry, they also have me entertained throughout. I adore the characters and the mysteries, while expected, are always different and have me stumped each time. Lane is a great character to read as she isn’t all mystery solving savvy but also dealing with her need to balance her life - working in her family’s restaurant, bonding with her sister, making time with her boyfriend, taking care of her adorable pug - with the never ending crimes that seem to happen around her.

This a comfort reading in a book series and that continues with Peking Duck and Cover. I encourage all readers to pick not only this one up but the whole series.

Lana Lee is back and this time she’s helping to put on a Lunar New Year celebration at Asia Village. When a member of the dance troupe is killed, Lana and her friends Kimmy and Mandy help her to investigate the crime. Lana’s boyfriend, Detective Adam, is investigating as well with his partner Higgins. Lana inevitably gets herself in some sticky situations as she solves the mystery. I had the suspect figured out but the motive was well hidden until the end. Overall, this was a great addition to the Noodle Shop cozy series.

I really enjoyed the chance to read Peking Duck and Cover: A Noodle Shop Mystery. Netgalley has really allowed me to explore mystery and quasi procedural books that I have once tried years ago, and now get to appreciate them for what they are worth.

Peking Duck and Cover was a very cute mystery. Loved the main character's struggle to not eat donuts/sugary things and have a "normal" coping mechanism of retail therapy of very nice things. It was nice how there were cultural elements integrated into the entire plot. Since this is a book in a series, I really want to read the other books, which makes me think that this will now require a trip to the library.

I would recommend this book. I have loved the whole series and this book was just as good. The weaving of Chinese New Year and the superstitions and customs made it more interesting. Add to it another murder at the Chinese New year's celebration at the Asian Village made for an entertaining read.

Lana, Megan, and our whole cast of zany characters are at it again. With the Chinese New Year at hand, everyone at Ho-Lee Noodle House and the whole Asia Village were preparing for the festivities! With Lana in charge of the activities and trying to avoid Ian, things were hectic but under control. Everyone was proceeding perfectly until it was time for the Lion Dance. When things looked to go off script, Lana stumbled on one of the dancers, dead! Everyone in the Village is horrified at the bad luck to start the New Year, and everyone expects Lana, as usual, to fix things. The whole team is at it in spite of warnings and false information, can answers be found, can the New Year be put back of firm footing, can the murderer be found before anyone else is eliminated? Vivien Chien always hits her mark with her Noodle Shop Mystery Series. I loved Peking Duck and Cover. You get everything you have come to expect from Chien. It's always a fun read! Start with book 1. You won't be disappointed.

Peking Duck and Cover is another wild ride for Lana Lee and her merry band of friends as she works to discover who killed one of the members of the dance troupe hired to celebrate the Chinese New Year at Asia Village. When Lana receives her own omen of death, her sleuthing skills kick into high gear to discover the culprit before she becomes another victim. I adore this series, and author Vivien Chien does a fabulous job of bringing her characters to life and keeping readers on their toes! A+++

BIPOC Culinary Cozy Mystery featuring an Ohio noodle house restaurant manager who turns sleuth after a lion dance performer's found shot dead during a Chinese New Year party.

5/5 stars: Chien's a favorite author and doesn't disappoint with this tenth entry in the Noodle Shop Mystery series, which is a Culinary Cozy Mystery that takes place is Ohio and features a woman who manages her family's noodle house restaurant. Chien has masterfully crafted a mystery that deftly balances the suspects, clues and red herrings and will leave you pondering the whodunit until the final reveal. Additionally, Chien's writing and character work are stellar; the characters are well-rounded and complex while remaining incredibly likable. It's a joy to catch back up with Lana, her friends and family and the eclectic and charming community of the Asia Village shopping plaza. I also love the diverse and inclusive cast of characters, from the Mahjong Matrons and the various shop owners to Lana's friends. And it's great to see Lana and Adam's, her detective boyfriend, relationship going strong. Oh and one mustn't forget Lana's adorable pug, Kikkoman AKA Kikko, so dang cute. I very much appreciate how Chien brings Asian culture to life and in particular in the book highlights the Chinese New Year customs, traditions and celebration. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll gain so much more by reading the series from the beginning; so be sure to pick up book one, Death by Dumpling.

Lana Lee is coordinating a big Chinese New Year celebration at Asia Village when a member of the dance troupe she hired is shot to death behind the stage. Can Lana find the killer before they strike again?

I've been reading this series since it began but fell behind. Over the last few months I've gotten caught up with Lana and Megan and Adam. Lana is in a very tenuous position in this book. She needs to do a good job and attract a lot of business to the Village, but she can't do such a good job that Donna (owner of the Village) will decide that Lana should take Ian's place as the official coordinator of all the Asia Village goings-on.

Lana chases leads all over Cleveland, even going to the Black Garter to hunt down clues. Through it all, and with the connection between what happened and the employees of the Black Garter, we are left to wonder, will Kimmy's secret be spilled?

I enjoy this series, it's your typical cozy but with a fun perspective from another culture, which we don't get nearly enough of.

"Peking Duck and Cover (Noodle Shop Mystery #10)" by Vivien Chien had Lana helping to organize a Lunar New Year celebration at the Asian Village. I really don't get why they let her organize anything anymore, there's always a disaster. True, none are her fault but she sure has some bad juju following her around. At least one cop says she probably shouldn't throw anymore events.

This one does have mention of public shootings, if that's something that may bother you. The mystery in this one revolves around the passing of one of the lion dancers. Lana is asked by pretty everyone but her family to investigate because they're worried about the impact on the Asian Village. I have to say, in the short period of time that Lana has been working at her family's restaurant again and back at the Asian Village their reputation has got to be pretty bad already with all the death that's been going on, this one isn't going to change where that's headed already.

In PEKING DUCK AND COVER by Vivien Chien, Lana Lee is back along with the Mahjong Mavens and other characters from Asia Village. Members of Asia Village gather for the Asian Festival. Lana Lee’s family restaurant, Ho-Lee Noodle House, is providing the main menu. Just as the lion dance, the premier event of the Asian Festival, is set to begin, Rhonda (one of the two people wearing part of the lion costume) is found dead. Who kills her and why?

I enjoy returning to Lana Lee’s world and the characters of Ho-Lee Noodle House and Asia Village. I do wish the murder had occurred earlier in the story, but all the elements that make a good cozy mystery are present. I look forward to reading the next book in the Noodle Shop Mystery series. AS a fan of this series personally I think this has the best title of the lot.

Another pleasant Noodle Shop mystery. Not a great piece of literature, but that is not what I was expecting. I read this series for a well written, fairly quick and light read based on solving a murder. Making it more fun is the view into Asian culture and family life. I know it will be formulaic, and enjoy it for the read and to go into a different world and character's lives. I keep reading the series to find out what will next happen in their lives. I recommend the series to patrons for an pleasant read along with other Asian and Singaporean writers in the same genre. They can be a nice visit into another culture, different from my own.

I love this series. Peking Duck and Cover is the 10 book in the Noodle Shop Mystery series by Vivien Chien. The characters are lovable and having the story take place in an area that I'm familiar (the Cleveland area) with is a plus. This installment takes place around the Chines New Year and like all the other books in the series, you get to learn about some Asian and Chinese traditions, I highly recommend Peking Duck and Cover, as well as, the whole series.

I really enjoyed “Peking Duck and Cover” by Vivien Chien. I am a fan of Chien’s cozy mystery series with amateur detective Lana Lee, set in and around her family’s Chinese restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio. Chien has created a wonderful and loveable cast of characters, including Lana’s fierce friends and her detective boyfriend. “Peking Duck and Cover” did not disappoint as the latest in the series. Set during a Chinese New Year celebration at Asia Village, the book has a captivating mystery while also sharing some New Year’s traditions. I love this series. I am always excited to see a new book come out. I was so happy to be able to get an ARC to read. Lana is such a great character and when she gets involved in solving a crime I hate for it to end. Then I have to wait for the next book to come out. This one did not disappoint. Lana is dragged into a mystery that occurs during a Chinese New Year celebration she is partially in charge of. Her friends join her in trying to figure out who shot Rhonda the head of the lion. What follows is an entertaining ride to a satisfying conclusion.

With the Chinese New Year looming, Lana and the other vendors at Asia Village are gearing up for a celebration. But when murder hits the festivities, Lana finds herself trying to figure out who had it one for the woman.

Lots of suspects, plenty of Asian food, and the cutest pug, settle in with a pot of tea and dig in. This is one of my favorite cozy series and Vivien Chien never disappoints.
