Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey is a new book and a new series called Frosted Firs Ranch. The novel takes place in a small town named Noel, North Carolina. Barrel racer Jordyn Banks buys property without seeing it in person and knows it is time to settle down. She is excited to begin her new life where she can be a part of things. Within minutes of entering town she is approached by four older women called the Noel Nanas. They want Jordyn to enter into the Christmas competition with her magnificent “fabio” fir. Little did Jordyn know what that small visit would start.

The town’s hottest and least available bachelor lives next door at Frosted Firs Ranch with his brother and cute daughter. There are contests and lots of people making this season a wonderful one for Jordyn. Being a straight shooter, she realizes that she has feelings for Nate Reed and tells her, but he isn’t ready. Only he really is and doesn’t know it. His family falls for her. The town falls for her. Jordyn has found her home and just maybe with a Christmas miracle, a hot neighbor.

The contests, snowy days and Christmas trees make the story fun. I love the inherent goodness in Jordyn. I love the characters of Nanas and Roxie. However, I really felt I had read parts of the story with other authors. Parts of the plotline were totally new, but the rest felt remade. Surprisingly I found I enjoyed the book despite the feelings about reading parts of it previously. I loved the meaning and the ending of Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey.

** I found it interesting that this is a new book, but the author died in 2013.

Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey is a sweet Christmas romance. Jordyn Banks has just arrived, having purchased a small ranch sight-unseen. She was hauling a horse trailer carrying her only friend, Star, who had helped her earn her money by carrying her to many barrel racing championships. She was watched by four older women: Carol Belle, Kandy, Holly Wyld, and Eve. These four had been looking forward to her arrival because the most beautiful Christmas tree was on her property and they wanted her to use it to win the Christmas Crown. Take it away from Nate Reed, who owned the place next to Jordyn’s. He and his brother and his daughter ran a Christmas tree farm and Christmas boutique. He was a man in pain; he had lost his wife six years earlier when Roxie was born and he could not let go of the pain. His brother wanted him to find someone else as did The Cheek Pinchers, also known as the Nanas, the four women who had already accosted Jordyn. From here on the story is nothing but fun, celebrating Christmas in Noel

That they were attracted to one another was not under dispute. Both were scared. That made it tougher. Nate loosened up some and then drew away. Jordyn wanted these people to all be her friends. She had dreamed of this life often and was not willing to give it up for what might be a failed love affair. The Christmas Crowning was a flurry of events, seemingly simple enough, but all with odd twists. These made this a thoroughly enjoyable read. It was heart-breaking really watching Nate and Jordyn circle one another. Nate was worried about Roxie giving her heart and than having it broken. But, as he watched Jordyn and his daughter, he realized that woman would not be the one to do it. The characters were endearing and the plot was simple, but enjoyable. What a fun Christmas read!

Fun Christmas romance that centers around the town of Noel 12 Christmas competition that the whole town partakes. Nate is the reigning champion for the last 9 years, but the founders of the competition decided it’s time for a new winner. Jordyn recently purchased a small ranch for her and Star, retired barrel racing duo. Not realizing the perfect Christmas tree is on her property, the 4 busy buddies (the founders) recruited Jordyn to compete. She is competitive by nature, but things shift once she meets Nate and his adorable daughter Roxie.
Love the zany games of the competition! I would love to watch them, but not compete. Typical Christmas story with a HEA. Great way to start enjoying the Christmas reading season.

Upon her arrival, she is welcomed by the Noel Nanas—a lively group of four older women who share a lifelong bond and are always ready to stir up some fun. This year, their mission is to help someone new win the town’s Christmas competition, and Jordyn is their chosen candidate.

As Jordyn settles into her new home, she meets her neighbor, Nate, his daughter Roxie, and his brother Tucker. Nate has lived in Noel all his life, but after losing his wife during Roxie’s childbirth six years ago, he’s been grieving deeply. Despite this, Jordyn finds herself irresistibly drawn to him, and slowly, her warm and endearing personality begins to soften Nate’s heart. For the first time since his loss, he starts to reconsider whether he’s ready to open himself up to love again.

This book is the perfect feel-good Christmas novel. The story is so engaging that you’ll find yourself eagerly turning the pages, fully engrossed in the warmth and charm of Noel. The author’s detailed descriptions make it easy to visualize the town and its people, creating an immersive experience that feels like watching a classic holiday movie—just in book form.

The characters are lovable, especially Jordyn, whose vibrant personality is sure to win over readers. There’s a beautiful blend of light romance, friendship, and a fun, friendly competition that brings the story to life. The relationships, especially Nate’s gradual healing and his connection with Jordyn, are heartwarming and satisfying.

This was my first time reading a work by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. It’s the kind of story that wraps you up in warmth, perfect for the holiday season. If you’re in the mood for an easy, uplifting read with a sprinkle of romance and community spirit, this is the book for you. I’ll definitely be seeking out more works from this author in the future.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this delightful novel!

I would like to thank Netgalley, Kensington and Janet Dailey for the E ARC of this book that is published on the 24th of September.
Jordyn moves to the beautiful town of Noel and on her arrival comes under the scrutiny of the towns Nana’s. She is exactly what they were hoping for and set out to put their plan into action.
Jordyn hopes that the town will be a place she can put down roots, start her own business and maybe fall in love. The Nanas hope that she will help them by participating in the towns annual Christmas Competition and taking the crown from Nate. Not that they don’t love Nate and his daughter Roxanna but they feel he needs to move on from the loss of his wife. The competition was something he did with his late wife and he competes every year to keep her memory alive – which is not a bad thing but it is not giving him the opportunity to open his heart to someone else.
As the competition starts and Jordyn spends time with Nate and Roxanna the chemistry starts, will they both be open to the possibility of love?
This was a great read with a wonderful setting and characters. I really liked the Nanas and how they wanted to help both Jordyn and Nate. Roxanna was a lovely wee girl who grew more confident and self-assured with Jordyn’s support and help. I liked the way that Nate looked out for Jordyn when required and both he and Roxanna helped her not only settle into her new home but during the competition as well.
This is a book that would be ideal to read snuggled up on a winters day with the fire crackling, a hot cuppa beside you and Christmas lights twinkling in the background.

Jordyn Banks, newcomer to Noel NC, becomes the newest project for the Noel Nana’s, a group of 4 older meddlesome women. Jordyn is introduced to Noel’s annual Christmas Competition and convinced to enter with the promise of mentoring by one. In doing so, Jordyn must take down 9 time Christmas Crown winner, Nate Reed. Nate is a widow, single father to Roxie, & owner of Frosted Firs Ranch. Will Jordyn be able to defeat him and will she be able to unlock the chains around Nate’s heart? The characters are all engaging. The storyline is perfection. This will make you smile and cry in all the best ways. Tropes include found family, single Dad, small town, neighbors to second chance romance, and let’s not forget Christmas. This was a heartwarming story that has me patiently waiting for the next one in series

In the true spirit of Christmas, Janet Dailey provides a story rich with Christmas cheer, second chances, and starting over. It's an uplifting book about the true meaning of Christmas. Giving rather than receiving proves to be the motto. Giving something or someone up for the greater good is a magnanimous gesture and is prevalent through out the story.

A wonderful way to start my holiday reading. Although I received a free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey has Jordyn Banks, a barrel racer, and her horse, Star settling down in Noel, North Carolina. The story has a good premise, but I was not a fan of the final product. Noel sounded like a typical small town where gossip spread faster than syrup on a hot stack of flapjacks. I liked the idea of the twelve Christmas contests, but I found one offensive, and two others were unrealistic (can anyone eat over three dozen cookies in one sitting). There are a number of characters, and it can be hard to keep them straight especially Noel’s Nanas. I was not a fan of Tucker, who was a womanizer and proud of it. There were some sweet moments in the story that involved Roxie, Nate’s daughter. The romance was predictable and seemed to be instantaneous. I was surprised to discover that Evergreen Christmas is the first book in the Frosted Fir Ranch series. It felt more like the second or third book in a series. Unfortunately, I found Evergreen Christmas to be boring. I forced myself to finish Evergreen Christmas, but there was eye rolling involved, sighing, and a couple of good griefs.

She unexpectedly acquires a perfect Fraser Fir tree on her property and gets pulled into the town's annual Christmas competition, where she faces her charming new neighbor, Nate Reed, a nine-time champion. As a barrel racer, Jordyn feels Noel is where she truly belongs. As Jordyn settles into her new home and community, unexpected connections form. I don't even celebrate Christmas, but the games were fun. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This is such a lovely small town romance set in very festive Noel, North Carolina where each year there is a Twelve Competitions of Christmas. The last of the competitions is for the perfect tree to be put in the town square. Jordyn Banks is a barrel racer who wants to breed horses and buys some land with a log cabin unseen. Next door lives Nate Reed and his brother and young daughter Roxanna. After losing his wife in childbirth he doesn’t think he will ever find love again and devotes his life to Roxanna. For the past nine years he has won the contest of having the perfect tree which he has always entered in memory of his late wife. This year he has competition when the four ‘Nana’s’ of the town take Jordyn under their wing in the hope that she will win this year and possibly also Nate’s heart. I loved all the characters in this and thought the story flowed with lots of different topics covered. I particularly enjoyed the interactions between the main characters and thought they were very believable. Definitely put me in a festive mood. Thank you to Kensington Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A sweet small town romance. Jordyn and her horse have arrived in Noel at the place she bought sigh unseen, not knowing about the town or its various Christmas competitions. Nate and his daughter Roxana both fnd themselves captivated by her and well, you know what's going to happen. That's less important in some ways than the delightful journey. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good characters and good vibes make this a good read.

Thank you NetGalley for approving my request to read Evergreen Christmas early and give my review. This was such a fun read with lots of charm. It’s about a town named Noel and the exciting contests they have in the days before Christmas to see who wins the Christmas Crown each year. The contests are run by four ladies in Noel. Nate has won the crown the past 9 years and is looking for his 10th win. However, a new lady, Jordynhas bought the property next to him and his family. So, the ladies get the bright idea to coach Jordyn through the contests in hopes of ruining Nate’s chances is his 10th win. But little did they know that Jordyn and Nate would become attracted to each other. However, Nate is still mourning the loss of his late wife and has a precious daughter that he’s worried about getting her heart broken if things don’t work out. So he has warded off women for this reason. So, in order to see how the story ends, I highly suggest you read this sweet Christmas story by Janet Dailey. You will love it.

Usually romances without suspense don’t hold my interest. But this author cannot write a bad book! I love this Christmas story, it was a sweet romance. When a retired barrel racer buys the property next to Nathan’s he is concerned. Not only did she buy the property but she also got the perfect Christmas tree, and she’s hot!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

Jordyn Banks buys land, sight unseen, in Noel, North Carolina, where she plans to live with her Quarter Horse, Star, and start a business breeding horses. She didn’t expect to inherit the perfect Fraser Fir tree, which is on her new property. She also didn’t expect to get roped into participating in the annual Christmas competition which pits her against her attractive new neighbor, Nate Reed, who has won the competition for nine years in a row.

This is such a fun holiday read with small-town charm, new beginnings, new friendships, and maybe even a romance or two.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fun, lighthearted Christmas tale about a charming small town and their cut-throat holiday competition.

There's a sweet romance, snoopy senior citizens, handsome cowboy-types, a darling little girl.....and a magnificent Fraser fir tree named Fabio.

I enjoyed getting to know Jordyn, and empathized with her desire to set down roots and find a home. And widower Nate, devoted to raising his daughter with the help of his younger brother, Tucker....their brotherly interactions were a nice part of the plotline.

Here's hoping there's a sequel, where Tucker's wild heart meets its match!

There are some quirky characters which just helps to make the story more enjoyable. A great read for the Christmas season or any time of the year.
