In the true spirit of Christmas, Janet Dailey provides a story rich with Christmas cheer, second chances, and starting over. It's an uplifting book about the true meaning of Christmas. Giving rather than receiving proves to be the motto. Giving something or someone up for the greater good is a magnanimous gesture and is prevalent through out the story.
A wonderful way to start my holiday reading. Although I received a free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey has Jordyn Banks, a barrel racer, and her horse, Star settling down in Noel, North Carolina. The story has a good premise, but I was not a fan of the final product. Noel sounded like a typical small town where gossip spread faster than syrup on a hot stack of flapjacks. I liked the idea of the twelve Christmas contests, but I found one offensive, and two others were unrealistic (can anyone eat over three dozen cookies in one sitting). There are a number of characters, and it can be hard to keep them straight especially Noel’s Nanas. I was not a fan of Tucker, who was a womanizer and proud of it. There were some sweet moments in the story that involved Roxie, Nate’s daughter. The romance was predictable and seemed to be instantaneous. I was surprised to discover that Evergreen Christmas is the first book in the Frosted Fir Ranch series. It felt more like the second or third book in a series. Unfortunately, I found Evergreen Christmas to be boring. I forced myself to finish Evergreen Christmas, but there was eye rolling involved, sighing, and a couple of good griefs.

Once the contest started I couldn't put it down.
This book gave me exactly what I was looking for, some good old Christmas feels during the summer.
The characters were enjoyable, especially little roxie.
I'm so glad I found this book and thank you for NetGalley for the wonderful read.

Jordyn Banks moves to Noel, North Carolina, after buying land sight unseen, hoping to settle down with her Quarter Horse, Star, and start a horse-breeding business. She unexpectedly acquires a perfect Fraser Fir tree on her property and gets pulled into the town's annual Christmas competition, where she faces her charming new neighbor, Nate Reed, a nine-time champion. As a barrel racer, Jordyn feels Noel is where she truly belongs. As Jordyn settles into her new home and community, unexpected connections form. The story sets the stage for a promising series filled with small-town charm and romance.

A sweet, predictable romance. Some misty moments. Charming small-town feel. Engaging variety of characters. I look forward to reading the next one in this series. I don't even celebrate Christmas, but the games were fun. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This is such a lovely small town romance set in very festive Noel, North Carolina where each year there is a Twelve Competitions of Christmas. The last of the competitions is for the perfect tree to be put in the town square. Jordyn Banks is a barrel racer who wants to breed horses and buys some land with a log cabin unseen. Next door lives Nate Reed and his brother and young daughter Roxanna. After losing his wife in childbirth he doesn’t think he will ever find love again and devotes his life to Roxanna. For the past nine years he has won the contest of having the perfect tree which he has always entered in memory of his late wife. This year he has competition when the four ‘Nana’s’ of the town take Jordyn under their wing in the hope that she will win this year and possibly also Nate’s heart. I loved all the characters in this and thought the story flowed with lots of different topics covered. I particularly enjoyed the interactions between the main characters and thought they were very believable. Definitely put me in a festive mood. Thank you to Kensington Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sweet clean festive Christmas book to put me in the Christmas holiday mood. Lets get baking and shopping till we drop.
Christmas time puts the whole small town in the spirit of the holidays, start with a fun exciting competition in which everyone takes part in.
Now on to the romance part..... A love at first sight between Jordyn and Nate.
Nate a widow, now a single dad to Roxie. Who owns a Christmas tree lot.
Jordyn a broken lonely woman who grew up in the foster care system. Hoping to put the past behind and moves to this small town and buys a ranch.
Loved reading their love story. Hope you do too. The ending makes me think there will book a book 2.
This book releases Sept 24, 2024
Thank you NetGalley for this advance copy.

A sweet small town romance. Jordyn and her horse have arrived in Noel at the place she bought sigh unseen, not knowing about the town or its various Christmas competitions. Nate and his daughter Roxana both fnd themselves captivated by her and well, you know what's going to happen. That's less important in some ways than the delightful journey. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Good characters and good vibes make this a good read.

Thank you NetGalley for approving my request to read Evergreen Christmas early and give my review. This was such a fun read with lots of charm. It’s about a town named Noel and the exciting contests they have in the days before Christmas to see who wins the Christmas Crown each year. The contests are run by four ladies in Noel. Nate has won the crown the past 9 years and is looking for his 10th win. However, a new lady, Jordynhas bought the property next to him and his family. So, the ladies get the bright idea to coach Jordyn through the contests in hopes of ruining Nate’s chances is his 10th win. But little did they know that Jordyn and Nate would become attracted to each other. However, Nate is still mourning the loss of his late wife and has a precious daughter that he’s worried about getting her heart broken if things don’t work out. So he has warded off women for this reason. So, in order to see how the story ends, I highly suggest you read this sweet Christmas story by Janet Dailey. You will love it.

Usually romances without suspense don’t hold my interest. But this author cannot write a bad book! I love this Christmas story, it was a sweet romance. When a retired barrel racer buys the property next to Nathan’s he is concerned. Not only did she buy the property but she also got the perfect Christmas tree, and she’s hot!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

Jordyn Banks buys land, sight unseen, in Noel, North Carolina, where she plans to live with her Quarter Horse, Star, and start a business breeding horses. She didn’t expect to inherit the perfect Fraser Fir tree, which is on her new property. She also didn’t expect to get roped into participating in the annual Christmas competition which pits her against her attractive new neighbor, Nate Reed, who has won the competition for nine years in a row.
This is such a fun holiday read with small-town charm, new beginnings, new friendships, and maybe even a romance or two.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fun, lighthearted Christmas tale about a charming small town and their cut-throat holiday competition.
There's a sweet romance, snoopy senior citizens, handsome cowboy-types, a darling little girl.....and a magnificent Fraser fir tree named Fabio.
I enjoyed getting to know Jordyn, and empathized with her desire to set down roots and find a home. And widower Nate, devoted to raising his daughter with the help of his younger brother, Tucker....their brotherly interactions were a nice part of the plotline.
Here's hoping there's a sequel, where Tucker's wild heart meets its match!

This is the first in a new series for Janet Dailey readers to enjoy. It is a lovely, cozy and warm Christmas read. The little town of Noel, North Carolina sounds like a wonderful place to live that takes the season of Christmas seriously through competing, rivalry, and fun with lots of town spirit thrown in. There are some quirky characters which just helps to make the story more enjoyable. A great read for the Christmas season or any time of the year.

Evergreen Christmas is another wonderful book to add to the legacy of Janet Dailey. It is also the first in the Frosted Firs Ranch Series. This has become a holiday tradition to read a Janet Dailey Christmas book. This one has likable main characters and not so likable others in the community. A competition between Barrel racer Jordyn Banks and Nate Reed over the best Christmas tree for the small Appalachian Mountain community of Noel leads to much more. An entertaining story of finding roots and love at the holiday season.

Meet Jordyn Banks , a nomad and her quarterhorse Star who moved to Noel, North Carolina , where she can keep Star and start barreling lessons and border horses. See how it goes when she meets her neighbors on the Frosted Firs Ranch. Nate, a single dad, his daughter Roxie and his brother Tucker. Since his wife, Macy died, the family has entered in the Christmas contests and have always won but this year Jordyn is going to challenge them, See what happens with the events and does anything happen between Nate and Jordyn.

As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I was going to be connecting and enjoying meeting everyone within the pages. The characters were likable, and they came to life as I was reading.
Jordyn is a barrel racer, and she found Noel, NC and she felt and just knew she had found where she was going to be able to call home.
The surrounding people in the story help complete the storyline. This is a perfect book, and the writers did a great job of giving the readers the basis for what is yet to come. I want this storyline to continue and grow to be another great read in Janet Dailey fashion. Frosted Firs Ranch Series is one I will be connecting with as I read each book to come in this series.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC of Evergreen Christmas. This is my personal review.

Jordyn Banks grew up in foster care and then did the rodeo circuit as a barrel racer. For years she has longed for a home of her own . When she discovers affordable land for sale in Noel, North Carolina she buys sight unseen. After arriving and dealing with some minor issues she makes some friends who take her under their wing. A beautiful story of finding happiness and friendships and maybe love along the way.

Jordyn Banks, a former barrel racer, has bought her first home. Located in Noel, NC, it's a quaint ranch situated next to Fraser Firs, which is owned by Nate Reed, a single father, and his charming daughter, Roxie. The town's local ladies have welcomed her and requested to feature her tree, Fabio Fabulous, in this year's Christmas contest. Nate, who has clinched the contest for the past nine years, aspires to secure a tenth victory in honor of his daughter and late wife. However, the contest organizers, aware of Nate's lingering grief, hope for a new winner to help him move forward. Nate finds himself drawn to Jordyn but struggles to release the memories of his wife and embrace life anew. Meanwhile, Roxie grows increasingly fond of Jordyn, often visiting her ranch to spend time with her horse, Star. For Jordyn and Nate, the journey towards romance is both fun and challenging.

Jordyn grew up in the foster system, she is thrilled when she ages out to find land for sale, for her and her horse. It is a lovely christmas book.

If this is not your typical hallmark Christmas romance, I don’t know what is. That’s not necessarily bad. This one is well -written and I enjoyed some parts of it. The sweet romance developed nicely and the community life was fun to read. Likeable main characters as well.
Not a bad Janet Dailey book.
