Evergreen Christmas is another wonderful book to add to the legacy of Janet Dailey. It is also the first in the Frosted Firs Ranch Series. This has become a holiday tradition to read a Janet Dailey Christmas book. This one has likable main characters and not so likable others in the community. A competition between Barrel racer Jordyn Banks and Nate Reed over the best Christmas tree for the small Appalachian Mountain community of Noel leads to much more. An entertaining story of finding roots and love at the holiday season.

As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I was going to be connecting and enjoying meeting everyone within the pages. The characters were likable, and they came to life as I was reading.
Jordyn is a barrel racer, and she found Noel, NC and she felt and just knew she had found where she was going to be able to call home.
The surrounding people in the story help complete the storyline. This is a perfect book, and the writers did a great job of giving the readers the basis for what is yet to come. I want this storyline to continue and grow to be another great read in Janet Dailey fashion. Frosted Firs Ranch Series is one I will be connecting with as I read each book to come in this series.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC of Evergreen Christmas. This is my personal review.

Jordyn Banks grew up in foster care and then did the rodeo circuit as a barrel racer. For years she has longed for a home of her own . When she discovers affordable land for sale in Noel, North Carolina she buys sight unseen. After arriving and dealing with some minor issues she makes some friends who take her under their wing. A beautiful story of finding happiness and friendships and maybe love along the way.

Jordyn Banks, a former barrel racer, has bought her first home. Located in Noel, NC, it's a quaint ranch situated next to Fraser Firs, which is owned by Nate Reed, a single father, and his charming daughter, Roxie. The town's local ladies have welcomed her and requested to feature her tree, Fabio Fabulous, in this year's Christmas contest. Nate, who has clinched the contest for the past nine years, aspires to secure a tenth victory in honor of his daughter and late wife. However, the contest organizers, aware of Nate's lingering grief, hope for a new winner to help him move forward. Nate finds himself drawn to Jordyn but struggles to release the memories of his wife and embrace life anew. Meanwhile, Roxie grows increasingly fond of Jordyn, often visiting her ranch to spend time with her horse, Star. For Jordyn and Nate, the journey towards romance is both fun and challenging.

If this is not your typical hallmark Christmas romance, I don’t know what is. That’s not necessarily bad. This one is well -written and I enjoyed some parts of it. The sweet romance developed nicely and the community life was fun to read. Likeable main characters as well.

Not a bad Janet Dailey book.

Wonderful, heartwarming and at time very funny read when it comes to competitions.

" I'm no Damsel in distress, neighbor, Nate, but sometimes, it's nice to have a Knight like you around."

Jordyn Banks, raised in foster care at the age of four, aged out and hit the rodeo circuit as a barrel racer, and made enough money to semi retire and purchase Chestnut Ridge ranch to start her business as a horse breeder and to train future barrel riders. Jordan hopes to fine friends and acceptance in the community of Noel, North Carolina.

Jordyn's approached by the Noel Nanas, four women in their 70s that run the Community Christmas contest. They want Jordyn to enter the Christmas contests, especially the Christmas Tree decorating contest. Jordyn's has a beautiful Frazer Fir that the Noel Nanas has named Fabio Frazer. They want to stop her neighbor from winning the contest for the 10th year in a role.

Nate Reed, widower, owner of Frosted Fir Ranch ranch, and reigning Christmas Tree decorating champion has his eyes fixed on winning again if he can purchase Fabio Frazer from Jordyn, which she declines. They agree to be friend enemies until the contests end. But as their affection for each other grows, they're both concerned with not hurting
Nate's 6 yr. old daughter, Roxanna who never knew her mother Macy who died because of labor complications.

With four interfering Nana's pushing Nate, and Jordyn's together will they realize that not only do they want each other but they need each other to fill the void in their lives.

I love a good Christmas story.

Jordyn Banks is new to Noel, North Carolina, arriving on Black Friday to take possession of her new farm, Chestnut Ridge. It will be her first real home, this will be her first real Christmas. After years in the foster care system, her family is her horse, Star..

Noel’s Nanas, Carol Belle Bennett, Kandy Lyons, Eve Knight and Holly Wyld follow her from town to her new property to bring her attention to a famous evergreen on her property- Fabio Fraser- it is the perfect future winner of The Christmas Crowning and the perfect way to depose the man who has won the last nine years running.

That man, Nate Reed, is a widower, single dad and her closest neighbor, owner of Frosted Firs Ranch.

And love cannot be far behind. But I can't give it all away!

The Nanas are delightful (Kandy is my favorite) and the love story is a joy to read.

If you want a fun, cozy and sweet Christmas themed book to get you in the holiday spirit, you've come to the right place! This was a charming and delightful read by Janet Dailey, one that doesn't have to be at Christmas time to truly enjoy.

Jordyn, a recent retired barrel racer, wanted to find a place to settle and call home. Growing up in the foster are system, and being on the road for barrel racing, she had never had the chance to put down some roots. She settled on buying Chestnut Ridge in a town called Noel, North Carolina. The town, being named after the Christmas song, was about ALL things Christmas. They even have a long reigning Christmas contest in which many of the contestants take seriously and everyone really does go ALL IN. Upon Jordyn's arrival, we meet a bunch of meddling older ladies in which the town calls the "Noel Nanas", that their mission and goal is to dethrone long time winner Nate Reed, who happens to be Jordyn's neighbor.

This was such a delightful read. The setting is absolutely stunning. The characters were fun and added to the fun in the story, especially Roxanne ("Roxie), Nate's daughter, and Tucker, Nate's and also very handsome younger brother. Nate is a very handsome widow and single father that loves his little girl and this story shows for him that you can have a happily ever after. Jordyn is beautiful, incredibly sweet and patient. I would love to have her as a friend. The Christmas competitions were fun and makes you wish you could actually witness all of the different stages of it. Love the town and its charm, and how there is a sense of community and love & care for one another.

I cannot wait for the next book! Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing | Kensington for the advanced copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are all my own.

I have read several of Janet Dailey's Christmas novels and have enjoyed them. Evergreen Christmas, is a novel with potential. There is a good story line. The main characters are appealing. But some of the characters did not feel fully developed or likeable, and parts of the plot needed some work. I did finish the book, but occasionally it was a struggle, which is unusual for one of Dailey's novels. A bit of good editing could make this a great book. I look forward to reading the finished work when published.

This is a sweet, lovable Holiday story of starting over, letting go, and second chances. The characters are well developed and become like old friends you want to visit. The plot, while simple and predictable, is completely enjoyable. Overall, a great holiday read.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Oh, my! Such delightful characters in the four Noel Nanas, each unique from grumpy Carol Belle to colorful Kandy. The plotting (from page one) to change the winner of Noel, North Carolina's Annual Christmas Challenge Crown. Plus the plotting to pit the newcomer, Jordyn Banks, against the past nine year winner Nate Reed. Evergreen Christmas by Janet Dailey is a light, fun read. Cannot wait for a sequel.

Releases Sept 24th. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Janet Dailey brings us the story of the town of Noel, North Carolina and their friendly yet competitive Christmas competitions. Newcomer Jordyn has finally found a place she hopes to call home. Meanwhile, single dad and next door neighbor Nate is determined to win each year not only for his daughter, but also in memory of his late wife. When the competitions start, they realize that there may not just be a friendship brewing between them. Nate is reluctant to disrupt the life he has created for his family, yet is torn between the attraction he feels toward Jordyn and keeping his heart intact after losing his wife. Will Nate be able to let Jordyn in while still keeping his late wife's memory alive for their daughter, or will he stay living in the past?

Janet Dailey brings us a story of love and loss. She brings us a sweet story of the family you are born with and the family you make. We get to follow along as Nate and Jordyn compete in each of the twelve Christmas competitions ending with the tree decorating contest. We see how they fumble and either win or lose with each competition. Read along on their journey of self-discovery and perhaps be open to what the future can hold for these two.

I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Publishing | Kensington for this privilege.

Thank you Net Galley and Kensington Publishing for this ARC of Evergreen Christmas in exchange for an honest review. First of all. . .I have been a Janet Dailey reader and fan for decades. Her books always leave me feeling good and this one is no exception. I am not sure who has carried on her writing legacy. This is a sweet story of a former barrel racer looking to find a small town to settle down in and call home. Jordyn purchased a small homestead located next to Frosted Firs Ranch owned by widower Nate Reed, his adorable young daughter and his playboy brother Tucker. A fun holiday town competition takes place pitting them against each other as friendly enemies. But. . .can they keep their natural attraction to each other from becoming something more? It was a quick enjoyable Christmas read in the style of a Hallmark classic. I have to say though that I found the meddling town grandmas annoying and detrimental to the story-line.

In the heartwarming holiday tale "Evergreen Christmas," readers are transported to Noel, North Carolina, a town where Christmas competitions are taken very seriously by its residents.

Jordyn, a newcomer in town with a ranch for her horse breeding business, is persuaded by a group of women overseeing the holiday events to participate in the tree decorating contest, thanks to a fir tree on her property that could give her an edge.

Her neighbor Nate, a widowed father to Roxie and owner of a Christmas Tree Farm, strikes up a friendship with Jordyn. Despite enjoying each other's company, they mutually agree to remain friends, as Nate grapples with the idea of dating again.

As the festive season unfolds with snowfall and spirited competitions, the townspeople become convinced that Jordyn and Nate are meant to be together.

This charming holiday read captures the essence of community and Christmas spirit in Noel. A delightful tale that warms the heart, "Evergreen Christmas" comes highly recommended, promising a series that readers can look forward to.

A special thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC!

I am a huge fan of reading Christmas stories all year long because they just give you that warm fuzzy feeling that I long for in the Christmas season. Janet Dailey has definitely given us a cozy read with this book. I fell in love with the characters and the town of Noel, North Carolina.

In the small town of Noel, North Carolina, land is cheap and that is exactly what Jordyn Banks is looking for. She has been on the road barrel racing with her horse and is ready to settle down for a little bit. The property that she has purchased just so happens to have a gorgeous Evergreen tree on it. Little does Jordyn know, she is going to be the talk of the town and the brunt of some bribes from the local people trying to get her tree for the Christmas tree decorating contest that happens every year in town. There are a total of 12 Competitions that take place each year for the Christmas trophy.

Not only is Jordyn hoping to find a place that she loves and people that she can connect with, but she is hoping to find a place that she can call home and settle down for a long time. When Jordyn meets her neighbor, a single dad with a little girl that he would do anything for, Jordyn learns that they are the reigning champions of the Christmas Competitions in Noel. When Nate lost his wife in childbirth, he made it his priority to win every year for her. Roxanne, Nate's daughter, takes the competition very seriously for her mom's sake as well.

Roxanne is pretty fond of Jordyn though and vice versa so when Jordyn ends up being up against Roxanne and Nate in the competition, some things just are not that important to Jordyn. Helping Roxanne to realize her dream of keeping her mom's spirit alive by winning the competition means more to Jordyn than anything else. I loved the Nana's too. They were like everyone's Nana that they love and look forward to seeing every Christmas.

This story is just an all around good one. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you Janet Daily for giving us a warm and cozy Christmas tale that we can feel a part of in the small town of Noel, North Carolina. I can't wait to read more from this series and see how things progress for those living in Noel.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. I really enjoyed it!
