Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for choosing me for this holiday themed ARC read. Due out in September of 2024.

If you are looking for a charming, cozy hallmark style book, this is for you. It has the widowed man with a daughter who owns a Christmas tree farm, a single new to town beauty and a town who goes over the top for Christmas. It is set in Noel, North Carolina after all.

I’m surprised to see this is the first in the series as it seemed like I came into established characters with a history. The author did a great job of establishing a base to make you feel like this is a recurring plot line and you can easily see where it will continue on to actually become a series.

For me the romance was very, very fast and I had a bit of a hard time with the 20-25 year olds having the funds to buy farms, etc but overall this was a light, easy to predict Christmas love story. Love the Christmas competition and the dual love stories.

When I signed up to review this book, I had no idea that Janet Dailey had passed in 2013.

Evergreen Christmas is the first in a cozy Christmas series. It is a holiday romance set in Noel, North Carolina that combines the sworn-off love/widower with child and fish out of water types of stories. It also features a womanizer.

I enjoy reading Christmas stories and reading about a town called Noel and its twelve Christmas contests sounded like fun to me.

Unfortunately, I found the story to be boring. I did not like reading about the characters. I found several of those characters to be annoying/offensive.

I could not force myself to finish it.

This was the wonderful beginning to a new series set in the mountains of North Carolina. The ending sets up possibilities for the next several books in the series.

A very enjoyable book. A fast read. I would love to find a town like Noel equipped with 4 sweet, older ladies. A great Christmas read.

Another good book from Janet Dailey. With the new barrel racer arriving in town, she won't have a minute to herself . Once the Nannas get a hold of her she is ready for the commotion they will throw her way. Nate and his daughter Roxie will have a great time getting to know her and joining in all the pre-Christmas fun. Who will win the crown?

Evergreen Christmas (Frosted Firs Ranch Book 1) by Janet Dailey
Story starts with Jordyn arrving in town, where she had pruchased a ranch for her horse breeding business. The groups of older woemn come to visit and find out all about her. They are in charge of the town's holiday events and she agrees to participle. She has a fir tree in her yard that decorated could win her prizes. Story also follows a neighbors farm where they grow the trees for everybody. Nate is the father of Roxie who Jordyn enjoys spending time with. Tucker is the brother of Nate. They all visit her especially Roxie who loves to learn about the horse. Nate and her agree not to get serious with one another and just stay friends. He's getting over the loss of his wife 6 year earlier, he doesn't think he will ever date again.
Winter events are fun and snowy and the whole town shows up. Like learning about all the events as they don't do them here in our town. Sounds like such a super fun place. Everybody is pushing Nate and Jordyn and she grows to love him and Roxie but .... you wonder if they will ever get together. Cute winter holiday read, so glad family is continuing stories from Janets' notes.
Received this review copy from Kensington Publishing via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

A favorite author of many readers, this is a quick fun read with realistic characters. This talented author has written a page turner about family and friends, love and romance...Even the title is fun...books with a Christmas theme are popular and most of us can't pass them up without a quick glance...I liked this one. Thanks Netgalley.

The best season for me is Christmas and even though there are still a couple of months to be there this book gave me what I needed to be ready, cozy, and super excited. Thank you NetGalley for the Arc.
