This book was so cute and will make the perfect storytime book. It was well written, funny, and was a good length that will keep children of all ages engaged. I will definitely be recommending that our library purchase it - I think the kids will love it!

What a great way to learn about Alpacas. This book made learning about them fun, and every child will love reading this or having a parent read it to them. The illustrations were bright, colorful and oh so eye catching.
It is a story about what happened when they get to the library to find the regular librarian is not there, but an Alpaca is there instead.
I cannot wait to give this book as a gift to my friends with children. This is one the parents and the children will love reading together.
Thank you NetGalley, Kristi Mahoney and illustrators Chantelle Thorne and Burgen Thorne and Gnome Road Publishing for the ARC of Alpacas Make Terrible Librarians. This is my personal review.

This ebook was made available for me to read and review by Kristi Mahoney, Gnome Road Publishing, and NetGalley.

The illustrators of this picture book are Chantelle Thorne and Burgen Thorne. The illustrations are bright and silly. They kinda remind me of Dr. Suess.

This fun picture book is about kids visiting the library on a Wednesday, not wacky Wednesday either, only to discover their regular librarian has been replaced with a brightly colored alpaca. Shenanigans ensue much to the library children's surprise and annoyance. This is an amusing way to learn about all about alpacas.

Thank you to Kristi Mahoney, Gnome Road Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ebook. All opinions and viewpoints expressed in this review are my own.

This is a witty and fun book for younger readers. The situation gradually gets out of hand when alpacas take over the library.

The illustrations by Chantelle Thorne and Burgen Thorne are fun, simple, brilliantly colorful, expressive and absolutely delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, especially to a school, church library, or your local public library!.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Gnome Road Publishing via NetGalley. Thank you!

I received a copy of this eBook from netGalley for a honest review.

Alpacas will make you want your old librarian in this laugh out loud story. An alpaca has taken over the library and the kids are confuse, amused and unhappy about it. Just wait until they tell the teacher! A fun picture book to enjoy.

This book is so cute. Imagine alpacas as librarians. They may look sweet but they can have quite the temper. I loved the illustrations and the bright colors used. The alpaca colors are gorgeous. I also enjoy the story itself. It’s a quick read, but a lesson can be expanded to ask kids “what would happen if” or what is mom going to say when she sees the boys haircut”. I love books that can offer predictions or solutions to problems. I also love that this can be extended to an art activity and a writing task. Have kids make their own librarian, real or make believe and give it characteristics. I would definitely use this to work in speech. Most importantly for me with children’s books is a diversity of characters and this book has this.
I would recommend to my teachers and librarians for a fun read along

Being a librarian, I was immediately drawn to this book, and I loved it. An alpaca librarian? What an original story idea! The story is hilarious, and the illustrations are stunning and vibrant. I know my littlest library patrons would love reading about the librarian alpaca. Recommended!

This hilarious story is bound to make everyone giggle and smile. Alpacas have some really funny tendencies that make them not so great librarians. The vibrant and colorful pages make you just want to keep turning the pages.

Alpacas Make Terrible Librarians was a delightful picture books about what happens when your librarian is suddenly replaced with an alpaca! The illustrations deserve sooo much love as each page was full of chaotic librarian alpaca fun.

I can certainly see how much kids would love this book, there was so much chaos and charm on every page. I loved the communal dung 💩 heap. (not a sentence you get to say very often)

Thanks to Kristi Mahoney, NetGalley, and Gnome Road Publishing for the opportunity to review!

I received an electronic ARC from Gnome Road Publishing through NetGalley.
Humor abounds as it's the annual Alpacas librarians day. Readers see what happens when alpacas become the librarians. Suddenly large sections of animal books disappear and readers have to sneakily read books on a variety of topics. It's a bit chaotic but all is well at the end. I appreciate the light touch Mahoney uses to share this joy filled book. The illustrations capture the energy, the mistakes, and the confusion. A fun read for Librarian Appreciation Day.

This book was so adorable! As a person who loves alpacas and who also works at the public library, I enjoyed the story. The funny dialogue and the interesting facts about alpacas made the story not only enjoyable and fun, but a great way to learn more about alpacas. The story ended where I hope is a beginning of a series of animals working in various places. I would love to see if Owls make terrible teachers!

This book is straight up fun! A trip to the library yields a most unconventional surprise: the substitute librarian is an alpaca and chaos ensues. Nearly every library "rule" is broken in ways that will leave kids and their caregivers giggling, The only things the alpaca are missing is the stereotypical messy bun, eyeglasses, a pencil behind the ear and a cozy cardigan. I hope the surprise at the end yields a sequel!

I’m always on the look out for decent picture books, either with a moral, a learning point, or just a cracking good read. I hoped this would be one of those funny ones that you take into class and as you read aloud the kids giggle and shuffle closer but it didn’t really do it for me. I found it clunky to read and no real storyline to follow. A shame as I had high hopes.

Super cute and super silly book that explains why alpacas make terrible librarians.
A new favorite for my 5 and 3 year old, whose favorite page was, of course, the warning about alpaca dung.
Great book, and I highly recommend!
