This was so so cute. The art style is so well done and adorable. The entire premise made me giggle the entire time I can't even begin to explain how much I loved it. I am beyond excited for more.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book before publication.

First off, I did not finished this book. As I went through each page I became even more annoyed that such an immaturely written story such as this would even be published as a physical copy instead of staying on WEBTOON. What I mean by immature:

1. The story starts so fast that we have no context. No idea who the main character is, no background, etc. That is the whole point of exposition in a story. Even if the author wished to create mystery and suspense in the story, there needs to be a solid exposition. Where does the story take place? Who is the main character, and why should be be on their side?

2. There are so many grammatical and punctuation errors in the dialogue bubbles. Which is okay if this is a first draft. You would think that those would be cleaned up coming off of WEBTOON before it goes into an ARC. Errors starting out on page 3 does not bode well for the rest of the book.

3. The main character. Who the heck is this guy and why should we care about him? We’re thrown into a scenario where he summons a demon in his room after acquiring a special book. He wants this so he can get a girl. Can this scenario make for a great book? Yes, and it has. However, the main character comes off as an immature creep who stalks her and intimidates guys who show her any attention. I don’t know about y’all, but this giant red flag is a complete turn off for me.

I’m sure there are people who like this story, and I’m not begrudging them for finding entertainment. However, the subject matter is perpetuating something dangerous within relationships, and that is not something I want to expose my daughter or students to.

I will not be recommending this book to anyone.

This was a fun concept but it fell short to me. There was a lot of jumping around between locations and characters and being that it was the first volume it was extremely hard to keep up with the names and faces. I wasn't a huge fan of the use of text language such as "lol" etc, it really took away from the story and while I know this is supposed to be kind of spoofy it was just extremely distracting and didn't add any comedic effect. The art style is cool and almost reminds me of a colored-version of Junji Ito's works and I think it suits the story well. I think as long as there isn't as much jumping around in plot in any following volumes this series has the potential to become well loved and a really fun read!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read an advanced copy of this.

My edition is missing a few pages so I'll edit this later but I had read the first half of this story when it was on Webtoons and then simply forgot about it, so it was a surprise to me that it was getting published. The art style is pretty much the same as before which isn't bad but because the formatting wasn't changed at all to suit the new style of a paperback instead of a scroll structure, the panels look so out of place now. Plus the humor is so integrated in the time that it was originally created along with it being a week-by-week update

I saw another review that said this had the humor of a five year old, and while I agree. It would make sense to add in context that the five year old is stuck in 2010-2015. Destined to repeat those years for eternity. I am still interested in reading the rest of the story, I didn't get past the fish head when it was a web comic, but I don't think I'll try to review the next volume if the opportunity arises.

I could not get into this one. I thought the art made the story really hard to follow. It felt like I had missed a few pages because I struggled to connect what was happening. I found the art very messy and confusing. I didn't like the main character at all. I was really excited by the premise, but the premise seemed to barely exist. I also didn't really care for the main character's obsession with the girl. It felt a little cringe, and perhaps if it were executed better, it could have felt okay, but it just felt creepy instead.

Thank you to NetGalley, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, WEBTOON Unscrolled, and unfins for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This graphic novel omnibus compilation contains the first (13?) chapters of "Love Advice From the Great Duke of Hell." The story follows Paul, who summons the Great Duke of Hell, Astaroth, mainly to get the girl he likes. When he finds Astaroth can't help how he wishes, Paul asks to break the contract, sending Astaroth away. But Astaroth isn't done. He returns with his fish-friend to take revenge on Paul.

The art has a simplistic style that makes for an excellent sense of place, as well as hyperbolic humor when it comes to the facial expressions. The scenarios have moments of seriousness, though ultimately the book is more of a dark comedy, really upping its entertainment value. This is hilarious and fun to read with a cast of interesting characters. I'd certainly like to follow this one!

I can't wait for the next volume. This is such a funny manga that has one of my favorite types of characters, the grumpy bad guy (in the form of an archdemon) who is forced to help with something so mundane and silly and below his paygrade (but finds himself enjoying it all the same). All the characters are really cute and I'm rooting for them to have a happy story.

I simply LOVE deadpan humor
this is a great read for people who are fans of Hellava Boss and Hazbin Hotel
I was cracking up the entire time I was reading this, I can't wait to read more. I love the characters and the plot so far.
This was very enjoyable to read. Loved the art style as well

I think this just wasn’t for me. I love graphic novels and really expected to like this one, but I guess it wasn’t my type of humor after all. Almost all of the humor relied on characters just making meme-like faces - almost none of the humor felt driven by plot, character personality, or anything else of substance. And I truly just couldn’t get past my absolute hatred for Paul. It would be one thing if his unlikableness could be balanced out with cleverness like Light from Deathnote or with humor, but he just had no redeemable qualities to me. I’m glad to see that this story has been a hit with other people because I do think that the artwork was nice and that the overall idea had creativity, but it just didn’t work out for me.

💭My thoughts: The art was nice, I really liked how the demon was illustrated. I was fully expecting humor, I love to laugh, but this felt lacking. The humor felt repetitive like reusing jokes, and something maybe a preteen age group might find funny. It just wasn’t for me. I would recommend this to my younger cousin in 5th grade..

I loved this webtoon when it was being published on the app, I'm so excited to see it picked up for physical release!! There are still a couple of spelling errors from the original series that should be corrected, but otherwise I found it JUST as hilarious on re-read as I did the first time I read it, so if you like slapstick comedy, absurd situational comedy, and other silly shenanigans, PLEASE give this one a try!

This is a whole lotta chaos that isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I can completely appreciate that it will be so many others' cups of tea. The art is different, which I think will make it stand out more. Definitely a fun one!

For me, I have always loved graphic novels. In fact, I have been reading them far longer and more consistently than I have any other literary media, even romance. So, have I been enjoying the fact Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group has been publishing some of their more popular entries for a larger market? Of course! All that being said, this one was definitely a miss for me. Cringe comedy made Love Advice From the Great Duke of Hell a ride I couldn’t wait to get off of.
Admittedly, when I first picked this up it sounded like a fantastic romantic comedy. Unlucky in love Paul summons demon Duke Astaroth to help him woo his crush. What I wasn’t aware of was just how unlikable Paul was as a character. For me, I have no patience for men—fictional or otherwise—who feel owed the love and affection from women because they are “nice guys.” And while the story definitely acknowledges Paul as this kind of horrible incel of a person, it does so in a way that plays his terrible personality off as a joke. To me, while that might be amusing as a side character archetype trotted out once in awhile to poke fun at modern day misogynists, it is not something I can handle in a protagonist, unless there is some level subversion present (think Rorschach from the Watchmen franchise). The comedy element was not enough to keep me from being reminded of all the terrible men I have met that behave just like Paul in real life. Personally, I can’t recommend Love Advice From the Great Duke of Hell, but if you are interested in Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group and what they are doing, then I would recommend Boyfriends by refrainbow, or Tower of God by S.I.U if you prefer something a little more serious and action orientated.

This is so stupid (positive). I wasn't sure what to expect, exactly, but it's tongue in cheek from start to finish. It's a lot of fun, and the jokes and art are both solid. The writing occasionally has some grammatical slip-ups, but its pacing and timing is bang on. If you're looking for a good satire on an absolutely unhinged young man who summons a demon lord to help him get the courage to talk to a girl, you'll eat this one up in one sitting like I did!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review of Love Advice from the great duke of hell.

I did not like this comic. I found the humor just not funny I maybe the qrong audience and that's fair. But I feel like its the same 5 jokes over and over again. The art is also not mt favorite but i appreciate that it stands out amongst the sameness of other webcomics turned fraphic novels. I would only recomend to like a 12 year old boy, and still probably not.

This was interesting and the plotline in illustrated version was so wonderful. The writer has penned down a wonderful plotline and the illustrator did an amazing job drawing so beautiful and charming illustrations.
I had a great time reading this.

Thank you Wattpad Webtoon Book Group (WWBG) and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. This graphic book is so cute and funny. It was part of action, romance, funny, paranormal. I look forward to read more of this series.

This was a interesting story and the art design was really cool, but I was just not that into it. It usually does not take me too long to finish a graphic novel, but this one did. I eventually had to DNF the book. I just don't think it was for me

thank you for the arc!

this isn’t my typical genre or type of book but i loved this!! the art and art style is so interesting and creepy at times while it stayed partly comedic. the types of demons/creatures are so interesting, i couldn’t stop staring at them. the different plots thread together very well while not being too much or too much to remember. this was excellently written and put together with incredible art and art style. i liked how it didn’t tell you everything but you got enough to understand the plot.

This was a hilarious read. It was fast and very enjoyable. I had fun reading it, this book isn't meant to be taken so seriously. If you're in the mood to just relax and read something funny and silly well this is the perfect book for you.
