What a fun way to learn colors! For each color, a work of art in the museum’s collection is featured. For anyone who has access to the Met Museum. a treasure hunt of these objects would be fun. At the end of the book, kids are asked to recall the color of each art work. There is also a list of each work that is in the book.
This is an appealing way to learn both colors and a bit about art. I liked it very much.
Many thanks to NetGalley and DK Children for this title. All opinions are my own.
A simple board book of colors and art for pre-k children. Introduces the colors associated with artwork and objects from the Met Museum's collection. The artwork chosen is not very famous or particularly interesting and might not capture a young readers attention, but still useful to link color and art.
Thank you NetGalley for a digital ARC. All opinions are my own.
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy! Kids can learn colors through beautiful art at a museum.
Each color in the book is followed by an amazing, unique work of art. The colors are brilliant -- I found myself going back several times to keep looking at a particular piece. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about the diversity of artwork while practicing their colors.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
This book is a fun way to introduce young children to different colors and art. I think it’s a great idea to introduce art appreciation at a young age. My son had fun flipping through this book with me and looking at the different pieces of art. He especially enjoyed the polar bear. I recommend this book to people who want to introduce art to their young kiddos.
