Love, love, love this fall 2024 release from Betty Crocker! Pulled from the archives (and recreation of lost recipes), with a variety of taste profiles, this cookbook is FUN *and* I can't wait to try out many of the contained recipes. Mixed within the recipes and sections are charming retro photography and tidbits from BC releases through the years as well as chronology that I wasn't previously aware of, such as tracing the origins of BC through the Gold Medal Flour history. Another cookbook that I'll own as soon as it's released. :)
Thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for the opportunity to preview this cookbook in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this cookbook travel down memory lane. The recipes are easy to follow and include a short explanation of their time period as well as gorgeous color photos. Also included are old ads, the history of Betty Crocker, and her image. I loved the photos of the official kitchens throughout the eras. Most of these recipes are something I would make instead of some of the old recipes that have been lost on purpose.
This would be an awesome selection for a Cookbook Club where the members each make a recipe then bring it to a potluck. Betty Crocker has been a mainstay on my cookbook shelf for decades and this nostalgic look at some of the most popular and iconic of Betty’s recipes will be a super trip down memory lane for many older readers. Loved every minute of reading this one!
I received an ARC of this cookbook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this cookbook a lot. And the pictures were great too!
Pros: I had so much fun exploring this book of vintage Betty Crocker recipes. It made me think of the handwritten recipe cards I have from my grandmothers of the recipes they cooked decades ago. I also loved learning more about the history of the Betty Crocker brand and seeing the copies of original recipes, products, and advertisements. The recipes throughout appear to be accessible to cooks of all levels of experience, and the photographs serve as a guide for how the finished results should look.
Cons: I don't think I will want to try most of these recipes (but that doesn't take away my enjoyment of reading about these vintage meals.)
Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow | Harvest for the opportunity to read this cookbook.
Betty Crocker cookbooks are an American staple in almost every kitchen, I grew up with my mom cooking from them and I have amassed quite the Betty Crocker Collection of my own. This cookbook is a great addition, the vintage recipes are all easy to make and the photos are drool worthy. Included in this cookbook are bits of Betty Crocker history spread throughout. My favorite recipe: Easy Chicken Parmigiana Pie- Delicious! I thank Netgalley and William Morrow for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.
This cookbook is so much fun! It evokes nostalgia for things I’ve never eaten! There are some recipes in here I want to try for sure, and even the ones that don’t appeal to me are fun to look at. Great pictures with clear instructions, which I expect from Betty Crocker cookbooks.
Who doesn't love Betty Crocker? My husband's great-grandmother was actually named Betty Crocker, and boy did she collect every cookbook they put out. And we found them all.
The recipes in this one are nostalgic and bring up many good memories baking with Mom.
It was really nice to have them back again.
Excellent!

My grandparents gave me my first Betty Crocker cookbook as a wedding gift in 2002, which started me on my vintage cookbook collecting. I love that this book now exists both for the recipes and the history included at the beginning of the book. This would be a great addition to libraries that have a cookbook collection.
This is an adorable cookbook filled with lovely vintage recipes and images. I will definitely try a few of the recipes and the images and illustrations are super inspiring!
I received an advanced copy from netgalley in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.
A great collection of Betty Crocker recipes from the past! The introduction was very informative for readers who may not be as familiar with the history of the brand. Can't wait to try out a few of these recipes myself!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this cookbook and look forward to trying some recipes. It is a nice dose of nostalgia if one remembers the recipes that were uncovered (or recreated) from the Betty Crocker archive. For those who don't, it provides a nice background to the history of the Betty Crocker brand since its inception.
This book will make a nice addition to public library cookbook collections and personal collections, I'll definitely be adding this title to my collection. 4 1/2 stars
Many thanks to @williammorrowbooks and @netgalley for the ARC. GOODREADS review
I adore this cookbook! It’s the perfect combination of Betty Crocker’s history and vintage classics with a modern twist. I’m looking forward to making quite a few of these recipes at home in my own kitchen. The hush puppy fried chicken sounds delicious. I’m also going to try my hand at making the soft cherry cookies. I’ll definitely recommend this cookbook for purchase once it’s released. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC.
A very fun cookbook to peruse. The layout is appealing, the photographs are great and I even found a few recipes I wouldn’t mind trying (though most of this isn’t to my own tastes). The entire book however is highly interesting and enjoyable from a historical appreciation standpoint.
If you’re committed to throwing vintage style cocktail or dinner parties, I would recommend this. Though the combination of Bisquick/cream cheese might be a bit much for regular consumption, if it’s your thing, a copy of this is exactly what you want for retro dishes that I think would really make a statement (even if of what exactly, I’m not entirely sure).
This would also very easily make a wonderful gift to spark a visit to memory lane for readers who fondly remember their own family making some of these same recipes.
Thank you to Harvest and NetGalley for the PDF
I received a free copy of, Betty Crocker Found Recipes, by Betty Crocker, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I grew up on Betty Crocker, and her cookbooks. This is a great variety of recipes, from the beloved Betty Crocker. The recipes s look so tasty, I cant wait to try some.
Releases 11/26/24, I received an advanced reader copy. Old recipes over decades, some I remember and some I don’t. All that cream cheese and shortening! Some of the historical text about Betty Crocker is interesting.
This is a really fun cookbook. The layout and information given was really nice both visually and for ease of use. The photographs of the food were also fantastic. Most of the recipes aren’t something I would typically try but a few of them peaked my interest.
Betty Crocker Found Recipes focuses on a bunch of Betty Crocker’s recipes from appetizers to main dishes and desserts. There are so many dishes I am excited to make. There’s the addition of certain elements like clip outs from magazines which adds a very fun touch
The sections are holiday celebrations, memorable main dishes, warm from the oven breads, irresistible cookies and bars, and better than ever desserts.
Each recipe has a little blurb about the dish, prep time, total time, serving size, ingredients, directions, and nutritional facts. There are beautiful photos to accompany most of the dishes.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I grew up, my mother often cooked and baked from her Betty Crocker Cookbook. I loved looking through this cookbook to find some old favorites, plus some that I had forgotten about! I look forward to buying a hard copy of this one when it is published. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
