This was a fairly short book so easily binge able. It started off really good and was hard to put down last night. Unfortunately - the plot just ended up kind of meh.

I feel like the “big reveal” at the end didn’t really make much sense and was kind of pulled from nowhere? I don’t know, I felt like all the build up just ended super disappointingly.

I’m going with 2.5 since the beginning was a fun read - but I’d probably skip this if I were you.

Gosh dang it this was terryfying. It had me scared, and I'm a pretty hardcore thriller reader! James Caine, you know how to write a good story. Bravo!

The cover reminds a bit of the thumbnail pic for a lifetime movie. This is a fast paced thriller full of lies and betrayal. You will find yourself yelling at the characters often. Tons of suspense and twists. I love a good "evil mother in law" story even though they are often predictable and over the top. Nice short chapters that keep you turning the page until the very end.

I wasn’t really impressed by this book and I’m a fan of the author. It was basically the same thing for most of the book. Not a lot is going on. I had hopes that the ending was going to blow it out of the park! That didn’t happen either. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to read this and will continue to read book by this author but this was definitely a miss for me.

The book is showing us that nothing what domestic thriller can come up with, we actually didn’t expect ! Great portray of disturbed family relations !

Found myself getting whip lash with this book thinking I knew what was happening but boy I was wrong!

Good suspense, the storyline keeps you intrigued as guessing who did it, and the ending . .still makes you wonder ..What if ".

Another fast paced thriller that will leave you questioning long after read. This book was well written and kept you on your toes wondering who was actually the one being gaslit. Fantastic character construction and plot that kept me flipping the pages. There are twists and turns, unexpected revelations, betrayals, and death.

The Evil Mother-in-Law is almost a cliché in these sort of books but that's probably because it works so well. In this story, a mother-in-law moves in with her son and his wife and proceeds to make the wife's life miserable. With no sign of her ever leaving, things keep escalating and I was constantly surprised by everything that happened. There are many twists and turns in this tale and nothing is quite what it seems to be. This is my first book by James Caine and I'm certainly going to be looking for more from him. I really enjoyed this book!

The chapters were short, and the writing style left me wanting more at the end of each chapter. I did feel the ending was slightly rushed. I would’ve loved more development around Leo and his business dealings.

A fun book about a mother-in-law that held my interest throughout. Poor wife! Her mother-in-law moves in after the father-in-law commits suicide. Typical snobbish woman giving the daughter-in-law hell and with little support from the husband. I will say that the twists were a bit shocking-not what I expected. It read quickly and I enjoyed it!

She Won't Leave by James Caine is a fast-paced thriller with characters that drive you mad and a jaw-dropping twist at the end! I literally flew through this one!
Whatever I thought was going on was just the tip of the iceberg! Some moments made me gasp!
It was easy to follow characters. There were lovable ones and manipulative and gaslighting ones!

If you need an easy quick read with a good twist, this one is for you!

Madelyn and her husband Leo are happy in their marriage until Leo's mother decides to move in. As we can guess this is the start of misunderstandings and nerve-wracking, manipulative situations. It's hard for Madelyn as she feels like an outsider in her own home. Can she get her life back?

This book was excellent! A quick synopsis; your mother in law moves in after the death of her husband, and makes your life absolutely miserable. One thing after another happens, including another murder, but who is responsible? Is it the MIL, the husband, the wife, the business partner, your best friend or even one of the “help”? This was a fast and fun read, I needed to know “who done it”, and it wasn’t fully what I expected.

Oh Delores, Delores, Delores what a mother in law you are, you make mine seem mild in comparison.

When Delores sets her claws into her son’s new wife Madelyn, all hell breaks loose and this exciting and twisty page turner will keep you entertained. I’m currently working my way through James Caines work, he always delivers a thrilling quick read that keeps you guessing.

This was a fantastic book! It was so intriguing and engaging—what a shock ending too! I was NOT expecting the twists at the end. Very very good thriller!

Rating: 4 stars!

She Won’t Leave by James Caine is a wild ride. The short action packed chapters make this a super quick read.

The progression of the story feels slightly choppy with the travel (she’s at home, then boom she’s on the road somewhere then boom she’s back home). But the sass and the storyline make this a strong contender for a 4 star read!

If you love a subtle mystery, murder, and a crazy mother in law, this is for you!!
