There is a plethora of action in this novel —- secrets hidden of past lives, murders, abduction of a wife, corrupt politicians, sex, revenge, loyalty, etc. I have often referred to novels as “page turners” when I couldn’t wait to see what happens next; but, Mr. Freeman has taken this to the next level and kept me up all night reading this remarkable book. Tommy is the main character and one cannot help rooting for him —- his intelligence, thought processes and investigative techniques are astounding!
This book is highly recommended for all and I thank NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication and I eagerly await Brian Freeman’s next endeavor.

This latest by Brian Freeman will please his many fans. He introduces us to Tommy Miller, a former detective and Special Forces soldier who is living a quiet, contented life in his new persona with his wife and baby girl. When an unforeseen incident suddenly occurs his life as Tommy Miller is upended. He must revert to his former self, the man known as Tiger, the mercenary whose past has taught him skills he must put to use again to keep his family safe. He will break every rule to accomplish that. He and his wife Teresa have been married a short time, but are very committed to each other. However, in the name of safety, they both have secret pasts they have not shared with each other. Could this incident be related to his past or hers?

The target here (the bad guy in the plot) is a billionaire who owns an island in Nassau, and entertains the wealthy elite by providing them with anything their hearts desire. Think Jeffrey Epstein. Ugh!!

The characters are well-fleshed and interesting, as we’ve come to expect from this author, he doesn’t disappoint. The pace is perfectly staged, the action and suspense will have you totally invested in what happens next.

A great read. I especially appreciated the authors notes at the end where he shares his inspiration for this novel and gives kudos to all those special men and women who risk their lives for the safety of our country and those we love. Happily recommended.

Martin is a man with enough wealth and power to own a private island complete with security, staff, a yacht and helicopter to fulfill his every whim. Those willing to pay can indulge their own fantasies, mostly illegal, too sick to speak the descriptions aloud. Tommy and Teresa live quietly in Florida with a young daughter. Tommy left his past in the Rangers and as a former homicide detective in the rearview when he settled down. Neither of them talks about the past, no need, they’re happy and deeply in love. When the past comes crashing back it’s a nightmare. This couple is so vividly portrayed I couldn’t stop pulling for a happy ending. Tommy is willing to break every rule when it comes to his family. He’ll have to circumvent a determined Detective Lindy Jax though and she doesn’t give up either. A seemingly untouchable criminal may get away with destroying Tommy’s family. It’s a fictional novel but there are evil, cruel people profiting from similar atrocities in our world and it continues to unsettled me. We mustn’t ignore evil because it’s uncomfortable. Mr. Freeman really put his heart into this one, dare I say, his best yet.

Tommy and Teresa live in rural Florida with their young daughter, Rosalita. They both have secret pasts that they haven't shared with one another. One day Teresa and Rosalita go missing and Tommy knows foul play is involved, so he goes back to his roots to find her. Meanwhile, Detective Lindy Jax is also searching for Teresa and Rosalita and knows something is amiss with Tommy's identity.

I love Brian Freeman's books. I have been a fan since I read Immoral. This was a good, not great one. I was really interested in finding out what secrets Tommy and Teresa were hiding and how that all intermingled with the other snippets were were being given of things happening in Switzerland and a yacht near the Bahamas. That was an interesting story to unravel, but we had that whole story at about 70% and then it became a bit of an action sequence and I am not that into action, so that is why it was a 4 rather than a 5.

Break Every Rule is a very intense, fast-paced thriller with nonstop action from beginning to end. Brian Freeman spends his talents to thoroughly develop his believable characters who span a large variety of demographics. A good read!

Brian Freeman's latest book was a really good mystery/thriller. Reading the book, I thought Jason Bourne would be exactly like Tommy Miller, hadn't he been shot and lost his memory. Tommy is on a quest to find his wife/daughter after they've been taken. Great plot, cast of characters, and an ending that could lead to a follow up. Oh yeah, plenty of action, suspense, kidnapping, trafficking, and the usual political BS.
I highly recommend reading the book when it's released on Sept. 10th.

This was exactly the action-packed thriller I’ve come to expect from the very talented Brian Freeman.

What can I say but that Brian Freeman writes some of the most enjoyable reads out there today. Again, he does a great job of character building while piling on the non-stop action. I really bought into the characters and wonder if this book will become part of a new series. The redemption story of the special forces operator has been done many times, but this one had an interesting twist which made me buy in. All I can say is kudos Mr. Freeman, and I look forward to your next book. 4-stars!

Brian Freeman is one of my favorite authors and I try to never miss his work. Break Every Rule ranks right up there with his best work. Tommy Miller makes a great protagonist and the author keeps the plot unfolding with just enough to make the action interesting.

I have enjoyed every Brian Freeman book I have read and probably liked this better than any of them. A nice twist on a story involving hidden pasts people want to keep hidden. Tommy and Theresa are together but have accepted their past is the past and not to look back into it. A good story that keeps everything moving and the island where this all happens and the characters involved make it a page turner. I kept hoping it would turn out how I wanted and this made me keep the pages turning. I hope these new characters return and like how their old lives and new lives are incorporated to push the plot forward. A really good book.

All is well until Theresa is taken suddenly and Tommy must jump into action mode to get her back. Their newborn daughter was with her at the time of the abduction so he has two times the worry.
Tommy must pull out all his tricks for his daughter and wife and is determined to find them. But this is no easy task.
Filled with unsavory characters and a strong plot this is a high tension book with action and suspense all in one. Very good. 3.5 stars

I've read every Brian Freeman novel, and obviously, am a fan. However, this book? It's something special! I devoured it- I felt a low level anxiety until the end, that's how great the action is! The love story is untraditional, but still, tugs at the heart, and I was rooting for, hoping for, Tommy and Teresa to, somehow, find a happy ending.
Just enough political, military, "behinds the scenes" mystery to be exciting and not cumbersome. Beautiful, wealthy, exotic location thrown in for color. Several interesting characters that you can care about or hate! Really an outstanding read!
