I found this book to be very helpful and easy to understand. I love Kendra's gentle, organized approach and the fact that it is written with women as the target audience. This book provided thoughtful, useful and creative approaches for time management, but it is not a list of how-to. Her strategies are so adaptable to many different life situations. I regularly listen to Kendra's podcast and always feel like she is a friend speaking directly to me and this book felt the same way.

Thank God for Kendra!!! I loved this as much as her first book. Such great frameworks for re-thinking how I structure my plans. Thank you, thank you for the advanced copy!

This was a wonderful book that will probably change the way many business people think about the way they spend their days. This is a life changer.

With a majority of time management books written by men, this is a much needed resource for women. I found that Adachi had fewer specific tips than I expected and spent time looking at a wider view of how women should approach time management. Highly recommend!!

The time management book to end all time management books! I always feel the most effective advice tells you not just what to do, but the why and the how as well. The Plan does exactly this. It paints a bigger picture to help shift perspective and take weight off of shoulders. It also dives into the nitty-gritty of practical tools for the reader to try based on their season and situation. All this, while showing how to make our own assessments, adjustments, and informed decisions based on principles that promote an integrated, beautiful life, no matter the circumstance. I have already put multiple practical tools into use and have felt the stress melt off my shoulders. This book gives us not only tools, but also language to validate, to understand, and to give us hope. Overwhelming turns into doable; despair into confidence. 10/10 recommend!

So refreshing to finally have a book that gets me! It is a tool full of kind, practical advice that actually works when you put it into practice. I will be reading this book multiple times, highlighter in hand. A must read for all planners, home managers, and people in general.

The PLAN is like having all of the best ideas from the Lazy Genius Podcast all rolled into one incredibly accessible place. As a recovering Type A perfectionist, the book's mantra "learning to pivot is better than learning to plan" has been transformational for me. I enjoyed learning how to apply Lazy Genius principles I have been using for years to planning my time. As an avid podcast listener, I could imagine the book being read in Kendra's voice, but I really do wish I had also requested a copy of the audiobook so I could have listened to it in her actual voice.

Kendra says that she has written a book about planning for women - and she sure has! This is a compassionate and thoughtful way to think about our time and prioritize what truly matters. Her approach is not one-size-fits-all but instead takes into account the reality that everyone is in a different season of life with different priorities, and she makes sure we know that it is okay. Kendra has written this book in the same friendly and uplifting tone she uses when podcasting. This was an enjoyable read and, I can't wait to listen to the audiobook!

Love me a Kendra Adachi book! This one takes an interesting angle of being a planning and organizational book specifically for women - and with that, she brings up some interesting points that I don’t think I’ve ever read in this type of book before (like being mindful of different weeks of your cycle & how your to-do list and goals might need to be adjusted to go along with that). As with her other books, I feel like this one is not supposed to be read in one sitting, but used as more of a reference (which I totally think she caveats in the beginning of the book). I read it with Kendra’s voice in my mind (since I’m a huge podcast fan of hers!) & so that kept me reading, even tho it was a lot to digest all at once. The book seems to take all of KA’s principals and advice and show readers that you can basically apply it to every area of your life. I got a lot of great ideas and felt pretty motivated reading it!

I really loved this helpful and practical guide to planning your life- by focusing on what matters most! It extends the Lazy Genius model into planning. Although some of it doesn't work or apply to me personally, the whole point is that "everything" doesn't work for "everybody"- but this framework is a fantastic way of thinking what does work for you. I especially love the pep talks at the end for so many possible questions/moments in life, and the sum up at the end for when I wanted some actionable fast advice to summarize what I had read. I've already started implementing many of her ideas into my current bullet journaling planning framework, and re-thinking how I envision looking ahead on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. This is real and usable, especially for women. As Adachi writes- the vast majority of planning books are by men and for men, and women's lives just don't always work like the "ideal" world. We are living in the real and the now, but that doesn't mean we can't also set in place goals and ways to make our lives more doable.

Love this book, another win for Adachi! In her first book she introduced us to the Lazy Genius method. Her second book helped us to apply the method to our kitchens and food-related labor. Now she encourages us to adopt a kind approach and values-focused lens to our schedules. I came away with a determination to only schedule what really matters to me and an assurance that its okay not to get some things done as long as I still feel like myself at the end of the day.

This book is a breath of fresh air! I really, really really hope this book finds its audience. Lots of things to ponder here, but suffice to say this isn't the typical "self help" book that doesn't meet you where you are and expects you to hop on a treadmill of doing and doing and faster and faster.
I've already pre-ordered a copy for a friend and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more mindful and effective way to approach their goals and just living life! Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with this gem.

I have been a huge fan of Kendra Adachi for many years now as a loyal podcast listener, member of The Neighborhood, and a whole hearted believer in the Lazy Genius Way. I have even called her my unofficial life coach. I pre-ordered a physical copy the second I heard the announcement. I was so so excited to be able to preview the digital version on NetGalley. I poured over every chapter and took copious notes. It actually took me a long time to write this review because at one point I was so overwhelmed with helpful information I had to stop. Not finishing the whole book immediately gave me time to implement the ideas so I could come back and absorb the rest later. I know Kendra would support my "Start Small" method in this!
The PLAN is a time management book unlike any you've ever read. In the first part of the book, Kendra introduces actually achievable, life-giving principles that will help you learn what matters to you and how you can make it happen. It is filled with grace and compassion for the challenges we face living as women and human beings in general. In the second section, The PLAN embeds the principles within practical strategies to plan your day, week, month, and season. She teaches you how to make a better to do list and how to plan for our goals, dreams, and life projects. Part three is a set of "Pep Talks" for a myriad of common life and planning pitfalls. I didn't think I needed this section. I was wrong. The realness Kendra exudes in her encouraging words made me feel like she was literally in my brain reading my thoughts. This section made me want to preorder a few more books for friends that I know these words would speak to.
From beginning to end, The PLAN is phenomenal book. You will laugh. You will feel seen. You will free like you have the ability and permission to make meaningful changes in how you live your life.
Thank you to Convergent Books, NetGalley, and Kendra for giving me the opportunity to review this advanced copy. I can't wait to get my physical copy and highlight it from cover to cover with a fresh set of mildliners!

"The Plan" strikes the perfect balance between being an understanding friend and a motivating coach. It offers both a reassuring hug and practical, actionable tips for managing time. More than just a scheduling guide, it’s filled with eye-opening insights ("truth bombs") that explain why time management can feel so challenging for women. It reassures readers that they’re not crazy, flawed, or weak for struggling with this, and then offers a better approach—not just for planning days, but for truly living well. I'm incredibly thankful for this book, and I know it will be a resource I return to again and again.

A realistic and kind approach for planning and managing life in a world where even our personal lives are graded on achievement and production. In her book, Kendra Adachi reminds us to not be so focused on a future goal that we miss the “good [that] is here right now.” A necessary and encouraging read for everyone who wants to learn how to live fully as we pivot and change with the reality of life.

Kendra talks to you like a friend or big sister. She is kind, practical, and helpful. This book was a joy to read!

The PLAN reads like your big sister who has all the answers, while also admitting she actually doesn’t, giving you a big pep talk, a stern talking to, and a hug all at the same time. As an avid fan of the Lazy Genius podcast, I can literally hear Kendra narrating this book in my head, but for those who haven’t listened to the podcast yet, her voice is still so apparent. She’s constantly reminding you to start small, go slow and calling out my brain as it immediately wants to switch back to optimizing mode instead of integration mode. I finished this book on a Thursday and by Sunday I was already pulling it back out to remind myself how to plan my week. A must read for women who just want to figure out a better way to live!

Do you find yourself desperately reaching for yet another time management hoping this one will be the magical one that finally helps you get your $*it together and become a Real Adult? The PLAN is the book I'd been waiting my whole adult life for. Kendra, in her kind yet firm Big Sister voice explains that the Time Management Industries real goal is to make money and that trying to achieve Big Five Year Goals so you can finally have the Perfect Life made of Perfect Days is not all its cracked up to be. Kendra will meet you where you are and teach you to plan and live the life you want, one small gentle step at a time. Funny and insightful, this book also brought me to tears and called for moments to sit with a startling revelation. The book is packed with useful tools, but Kendra will be the first to ask you not to let it overwhelm you. There's even a section on how to start, pep talks, and a handy reference guide.

I absolutely loved The PLAN: Manage Your Time Like a Lazy Genius! Kendra Adachi's approach is both refreshing and relatable, especially because it’s written by a woman for women. Her focus on prioritizing what really matters, listening to your own needs, allowing for flexibility, and nurturing yourself resonates deeply. This book isn’t about rigid schedules but about finding what works best for you, which is both empowering and practical. If you're looking for a time management guide that feels personal and genuine, this is it!

I have been a long-time listener of Kendra’s podcast and really enjoyed THE LAZY GENIUS WAY. I was eager to pick up THE PLAN and it made for a quick read. I love how Kendra is blazing a trail for women in the predominantly male space of time management and productivity. It was helpful that she pointed out the way the patriarchy has hindered women and made us feel “less than” in our time management pursuits. I especially appreciate how she encouraged women to listen to their bodies and coordinate our rhythms of productivity with our monthly menstruation cycle. Her advice felt like a warm, encouraging, hug from a friend and I appreciated her perspective.
My only quibble is small: It is very evident that Kendra *loves* a good acronym. While I love a clever acronym as much as the next girl, even I got a bit overwhelmed with the many abbreviations introduced here.
Overall this was a practical read that will resonate with many women!
