Wherever you read it, you will enjoy the fully updated and expanded, stunningly photographed version that takes you through the development and specs for every model considered a muscle car in the Dodge and Plymouth lines. Whether it brings historical knowledge or nostalgia, this beautiful book is worth having.
One in a series of books of great automotive marques. Dodge and Plymouth muscle cars are described chronologically within each major type, such as the Barracuda. Very well illustrated.
The is a lovingly collected and beautifully presented coffee table quality book on mopar muscle. The photographs and ephemera are drool worthy and certainly this deserves a home in any collector's library. Note that this is a fully updated version of an earlier book.
The book is broken down by car type: Barracuda (64-74), Charger (66-71), GTX (67-71), Dart and Demon (67-71), Coronet R/T (67-70), Road Runner (68-74), Super Bee (68-71), Duster 340 (70-72), Challenger (70-74), Charger (2006-2023), Challenger (2008-2023). In addition, there is a nicely detailed chapter on the history of the Mopar muscle cars from 1960-1967.
Each chapter includes full specs on the cars, engine and body schematics, promo images, racing images/pictures of the cars out in the wild, and detail shots. This isn't just a picture book - the information is relevant, nicely researched, and with rich histories and tidbits.
I greatly enjoyed reading this and I am very glad to have it in my library. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
Way to take me back to my childhood in the 1960's! What an excellent time capsule of the Mopar muscle cars. I literally drooled over this book, as it contained my favorite cars of the era. The Super Bird, the Charger and Challenger, and the Road Runner. What a great era and time to be alive. Lots of information and great photography. I can't stop looking at this book!
As a thirty something woman who grew up in her dad’s garage, this was great. I loved how thorough the book was. I appreciated the chronological presentation, pictures, and specs. It was sad to see the end of an era arrive. I especially loved the Barracuda section as my dad owns a 1971 Barracuda, and we bonded while working on his car, going to car shows, and cheering at NHRA races. This would make a perfect gift for a Mopar lover like him or even a great coffee table book.
The Complete Book of Dodge and Plymouth Muscle Cars by Mike Mueller and Tom Glatch is a great coffee table book.
This book is great for the car enthusiasts in your life. This colorful and informative book goes through the history of Dodge and Plymouth cars throughout the years. Mopar fans will love the evolution of some of their favorites, including the Charger. I loved seeing the evolution of the body styles as well as the different front end and light styles. The book is both entertaining and informative. The different specs and options were interesting to see, my favorite being the yellow and black of the 1969 Barracuda. My husband prefers the 1970 Charger RT, preferring the lights on the 70 over the 71.

I learned to drive on a 70’ Plymouth Roadrunner with an air scoop. I thought I was the queen on the road, of course the car belonged to my husband. Every young man dreamed of owning a muscle car. They don’t make cars like they used to. This book celebrates the iconic models. They had the look, the power, the attitude, and charm. This book has it all: comprehensive specifications, anecdotes, and insights. This book will make a great Father’s Day Gift.
