Brooke and Neal are trying to work on their marriage for the sake of their daughter, Marilee. They both cheated on each other, Brooke broke things off with Gideon but it comes with extreme consequences. This is a slow burn suspenseful read!

What a twisted ride! I can always depend on Lisa Jackson to deliver a gripping, suspenseful, unputdownable read!

After trying to end things with her lover, Gideon Ross, Brooke Harmon finds herself in a situation that's impossible to get out of. Gideon will not let her go. He is obsessed and will rather die before letting her leave him. Things get out of control when Gideon starts stalking Brooke, showing up to her home as a pizza delivery guy, and even watching her daughter. Brooke needs to put an end to this without her family finding out or, even worse, getting hurt.

This book is quite the page-turner! It is riveting and I was consumed from the very start! Gideon is a nut job, but his character makes the book so interesting! What makes the book even more interesting is that every character has their own secrets! Unfortunately, the ending was predictable, however the story as a whole was so good that the lackluster ending didn't do much harm, in my opinion.

Thank you NetGalley, Kensington Publishing, and Lisa Jackson for such a suspenseful ARC!

2.5 stars strictly for being a quick read. This was my second Lisa Jackson book, and I think I’ve decided they’re not really for me. This one was a definitely a page-turner, but it ventured into the predictable and cliche far too much. I kept waiting for something to *not* go the way I expected and actually surprise me. It never happened.

The book opens by revealing Brooke’s affair with a man named Gideon. To put it mildly, Gideon doesn’t react well to Brooke ending their arrangement. From there it devolves into stalking and overall general creepy, dangerous behavior, all while Brooke is dealing with her foul-attitude teenage daughter, her bitter sister showing up broke and needing a handout, and trying to figure out if her marriage is salvageable.

I saw another review that said the only likable character in the book was the dog, and that would be entirely accurate. Brooke is more concerned with hiding her secret than really ensuring she and her family are safe. Neal is a liar in his own right. Marilee is the epitome of a bratty, obnoxious teenager. Leah is pure ‘woe is me, everything bad in my life is someone else’s fault, you owe me this’ while also being a terrible sister. Gideon was almost caricature-like in his villain depiction. The unraveling of everything may have kept me turning the pages, but I genuinely didn’t really care what happened to any of these characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I was going to enjoy this book more than I actually did. I felt like the plot twists were kind of predictable. The main character, Brooke, annoyed me with the dumb choices she made. Brookes sister Leah had me rolling my eyes as well as Brooks daughter with her attitude. It was a quick read with lots of stalking and suspense. But FYI, everyone's a cheater. I ended up enjoying it towards the end when the drama picked up. The dog shep was my favorite character in the book. The rest of the characters just didn't do it for me.

This was my first book by Lisa Jackson. I have always wanted to read her older books, but just never started them. After reading Our Little Secret, I will start reading her other novels. This one, while not the most thrilling thing I've ever read, was a decent read. I would have loved a little more character development. It was also a bit predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. 3 stars.

Brooke Hastings has a short-lived affair with a man named Gideon Ross, believing it’s only fair since her husband Neal has had his own affair. But when she has a change of heart and decides to end the affair and save her marriage, Gideon won’t take no for an answer.

Brooke’s sister, Leah, feels Brooke stole Neal from her years ago and has resented her. The two haven’t gotten along in years. Leah can’t seem to stay in a relationship.

When Brooke finally thinks she’s seen the last of Gideon, who shows up at her house with her sister, Leah, only he’s using a different name and has changed his appearance? Gideon.

Brooke’s daughter, Marilee, has her own secrets.

Infidelity, betrayal, obsession, stalking, secrets, mysterious phone calls, surprises, and more!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lisa Jackson introduces us to Brooke Harmon who has the loving husband and daughter. Behind closed doors, things are not as they seem. Brooke and her husband Neal have been having marital problems and her teenaged daughter is constantly at odds with her. When we meet Brooke, we find her trying to end an affair she has been having with Gideon. Problem is that he does not take kindly to her ending things between them and asks the question: How far would you go for something you want? Well, Gideon loves Brooke so much that he is willing to do anything to keep her...even kill to hold on to their love.

We follow along as Brooke tries to untangle the messy web she created when she got involved with Gideon. Trying to end that chapter of her life seems to take over as paranoia sets in and threatens to upend her carefully created life with her family. Will Brooke be able to keep Gideon away from her family, or will he still get what he wants? What happens when the lies start to unravel and truths start coming out? What does it mean for Brooke and her family? Will she ever be free of the mistakes she made? See how far both Brooke and Gideon go for something they want.

I have read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Publishing | Kensington for this privilege.

A reverse Fatal Attraction and Lisa Jackson? That would be an automatic yes for me. Without restating the blurb, I will say this:
• This could totally be real
• You will be wrapped up in the story line and finish this non stop
• Unlikeable characters and drama drive this
• Intriguing plot and a great villain
Lisa Jackson never disappoints and will remain a go to author for me.

Another great thriller from the Queen! An engaging plot that begs the question how far would you go? Characters are intriguing. Suspense was top notch. You’ve got secrets, lies, obsession, paranoia, etc….The climax kinda fizzled out some and left me wanting more: Overall, a great heart pounding thriller which packed a punch. Thanks to Kensington Publishing for the ARC from Netgalley

Was not my favorite from this author. I usually enjoy her books, but this one was much too predictable and never had any kind of exciting twist or surprise. Looking forward to future books from Lisa Jackson!

Brooke Harmon wants to end the extra marital affair she’s having. Her lover, Gideon Ross, unsettles her slightly. When she tries to end it he doesn’t accept it, he will do anything for the person he loves.

I was intrigued by the synopsis, an obsessive love refusing to accept it’s over. But the book didn’t quite live up to it for me. All the characters have few redeeming qualities and complex relationships. Her relationships with her sister and her husband and all three of their actions throughout made it hard to root for anyone. The pace was uneven, at times I felt like I was wading through treacle. An okay book but didn’t quite work for me.

Our little secret by Lisa Jackson

This book is set in Seattle about a woman named Brooke who is dealing with her tumultuous relationship, things are boring and routine with her husband Neil they have a daughter named Marilee.

Until she meets a charismatic man named Gideon, who she has an affair with. After a while her conscience picks at her and as she starts to end it Gideon brings on a whole new vibe of stalker and revenge.

Her sister Leah adds in another red flag of drama to the story as she is obsessed with love and the thought of being with someone. She’s the crazy insert to this story.

This book fell flat for me. The book was a little predictable but ending was abrupt and not shocking like I had hoped.

This is my first Lisa Jackson book and I will definitely be reading more. The story gripped me from the first chapter and I couldn’t stop reading! I would be pick up my kindle, in between doing housework, cooking, you name it, I just had to know what was going on.

From the beginning I knew that Brooke and Neal both had secrets, but I was eager to find out when they would be brought to light.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, I loved how much it played into my psyche as the reader. Especially at the end. I love a locked door moment.

I feel like the true ending left a little bit to be desired. I was expecting a little bit more of the cat and mouse back and forth, before the big finale. The final twist involving Marilee was unexpected and I enjoyed that.

Overall a great 4 star read!

"Our Little Secret" by Lisa Jackson is a gripping thriller centered around Brooke's tumultuous affair with Gideon, who becomes dangerously obsessed when she attempts to end it. As personal and familial crises mount, the story weaves through suspense and peril, propelled by Jackson's knack for tension. Despite some predictability, the novel's complex characters and psychological depth make it a compelling read for fans of intense, character-driven mysteries.

This is such a twisted read. Brooke is disillusioned by her adulterous affair, trying to end it but finding her partner is not willing to give her up. Dealing with her current husband, teenage daughter, sister that is going through her own marital breakup and loss of her job. Suspense, wrongs righted, secrets, trauma, mental games. Had me from the first page to the last. Could not lay it down. Recommend this very well written book. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book by NetGalley and I am freely sharing my review.

Lisa Jackson is one of my favorite authors but this one was little off. I loved the plot right off the bat but as you get past the first few chapters it becomes repetitive & predictable. I didn't hate it but I definitely think more could have been added/expanded on to allow the story to take a better direction.

This book was riveting, start to finish! Affairs, stalking, murder. What more could a girl want? This one was hard to put down. I do wish there had been a little more to the ending but it was still very good.

Lisa Jackson, is hit or miss with me. “Our Little Secret,” was mostly a miss.

It had potential...however, the whole cheating spouse and unstable ex boyfriend, just didn’t work here. Brooke, was a solid character, believable. Neal was beyond irritating, and Gideon, a crazy creeper villain, similar to Fatal Attraction.

Jackson’s novels always move quickly and are entertaining. The plot here was predictable, and the ending felt rushed, and incomplete.

I appreciate the ARC A solid 3 1/2 stars

Our Little Secret by Lisa Jackson was a twisty ride and I was totally invested in the story! There were so many layers to the story and while I predicted a few of the twists it didn't prevent me from loving the story and wanting to see what happens next. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy mystery and suspense books. This book gives off Fatal Attraction vibes, so that is your vibe then you would love this book. This book was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot and characters were well written, even though not all the characters are likable.
