Good addition to the series. Rarity is enjoying her bookstore, spending time with her boyfriend Archer, hosting the bookstore's book club, and investigating murders. Unfortunately the latest murder they are investigating hits close to home when Archer is top of the suspect list. They will have to work hard to solve this one and keep Archer safe.

Love reading about Rarity, her bookstore, her book club (murder club), and the area around Sedona. The author's descriptions really make me want to visit. I enjoyed the mystery, but I did feel the solving of it was a little rushed. This didn't detract from my enjoyment at all.
The blurb for the next book has me going, hmmmmm

Many thanks to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

I really enjoy this series and this was no exception. I like the characters, the bookstore setting as well as the town of Sedona in general. I also always really enjoy the mysteries as well. This one starts with with Rarity and her boyfriend, Archer, visiting a new art gallery owned by one of Archer's old school friends. Things quickly spin out of control when the old school friend is found murdered and it turns out his relationship with Archer wasn't always friendly. Luckily, Rarity's book club is always ready to get involved in the investigation with the help of Jonathan, the father of Drew, the actual detective on the case.

Like a lot of cozy mysteries the actual mystery isn't always front and center. There's a lot of focus on relationships - especially Archer and Rarity (who seriously need to communicate better), Sam and Drew (ditto) and the new but more poignant relationship between Shirley and Terrence. As well, there's a lot of day to day bookstore business and quite a bit of Rarity's everyday life. I enjoyed all of this but it definitely keeps it from being the fastest pace of reads and at times the mystery really took a backseat. As well, the reveal did feel a bit anti-climatic.

If you enjoy light cozy mysteries that do touch on more serious topics this is a good choice though I do recommend starting with the first book so you can get to know all the characters.

Although I had heard of Lynn Cahoon, I had not read any of her books until this one. Let me say I will certainly be reading more, as I had fun reading this one. This is the fourth in the Survivor's Book Club Mystery series.

Description:
Prolific New York Times bestselling author Lynn Cahoon pens a new episode in the Tuesday Night Survivors Club Mystery series set in a cozy bookstore café in Sedona, Arizona.

Rarity is grateful for many things and people in her new life, including her friend Shirley, who is helping to provide backpacks and supplies for kids going back to school. But Shirley needs a big favor. With her husband in a memory-care home, she wants to attend an art opening with a male friend but fears local gossip. She asks Rarity, her friend Sam, and their boyfriends to come along as cover. It would be fun if not for the fact that the two couples are barely speaking…

The evening proceeds without any social disasters. But the featured artist—who struck Rarity as more of a spoiled playboy—is later found dead with an arrow in his back. Any lingering tensions must be set aside so the amateur sleuths can find an archer who may have taken the idea of pointed criticism a bit too literally . .

My Thoughts:
Even though this is not the first of the series, it was easy to read it as a stand alone. I liked Rarity's devotion to making her bookstore a success. She was doing all the things to make the bookstore part of the community and I think that's what everyone wants in a bookstore. I enjoyed following the investigation and how Rarity and the Book Club Members helped. It was an interesting case. Anyone who likes cozy mysteries will enjoy the book.

Thanks to Kensington Books and Lyrical Press through Netgalley for an advance copy.

Rarity Cole is loving her life in Sedona, AZ with her bestie Sam, boyfriend Archer and all the members of her book club, aka sleuthing club.

Rarity, Archer and friends visit an Art Gallery hosted by a friend of Archer's from college. The next morning Archer goes to the Gallery to pick up his friend for a hike and finds that his friend has been murdered. Archer is an unlikely suspect, but the sleuthing group gets involved anyway. They want the murderer identified so they can feel safe in Sedona again.

I've read books in this series before and I've enjoyed them. I like the storyline and the characters. I was sorry to find a few continuity errors and illogical choices in this book. I still enjoyed the book probably because I'm attached to the characters, but I don't think it was as good as earlier books in this series.

I love spending time with Rarity, Archer, Drew, and the Tuesday Night Survivors' Club. This has become my favorite of Lynn Cahoon's series. The characters are intelligent and relatable, and there is no shortage of humor. The maturity and stability of Rarity's and Archer's relationship is a huge draw. I have really come to enjoy Jonathon's visits, as well. This book started as a 5 star read for me, even though relationship instabilities threatened it somewhat. However, the final chapter just did not work for me. It felt rushed and some parts seemed to be disconnected from the storyline. I actually reread the resolution of the mystery three times trying to see if I missed something, not to mention Drew's comments about Calliope. Where did those even come from? While I eagerly read chapters 1-23, chapter 24 was a complete let down, and it was not helped by the excerpt from the next book in the series that followed. I'm sad.

Reading Between the Lies is book #4 in the Survivors' Book Club series by Lynn Cahoon.

Rarity is busy with her bookstore and helping with a charity event. Then there is her relationship with Archer which is a bit bumpy as well as her friends and their relationship issues. I like how Rarity acknowledges her cancer and how that experience got her to where she is now and uses it as a reminder to live in the present. This book feels real. The victim is not a nice person so plenty of suspects. I enjoy the book club and how they work together to investigate. I recommend this book and look forward to the next book!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Lynn Cahoon has become one of my favorite cozy mystery authors and I really enjoy reading the Survivor’s Book Club series. This latest addition does not disappoint. The murder mystery grabs you from the beginning and won’t let go until you finally discover who “did it.” The characters are so well developed and their personalities and quirks make you feel like you know each one .... that they are friends. I love Rarity Cole and watching the relationship with Archer grow. Experiencing how Rarity is enjoying a second chance at life having survived cancer is rewarding. I can’t wait for the next adventure with the gang at The Next Chapter bookstore. This is definitely a series worth getting invested in and making time to spend with the people in Sedona, Arizona.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I love the premise of this series which finds Rarity Cole running a bookstore in Sedona, Arizona after moving from St. Louis, Missouri. Rarity is now cancer-free and is happy for a fresh start. She leads a book club for other cancer survivors and has developed a knack for solving crimes. This time her boyfriend, Archer, is the suspect and she's even more determined to find the true killer. Rarity has some good friends and it's fun seeing them work together to investigate the death of one of Archer's clients who is also an old acquaintance of his.

This book wasn't my favorite in the series, but still has some interesting moments. Part of the issue is I'm not completely behind the idea of Rarity and Archer as a couple and their relationship plays a large role in this book. A development at the end of the book surprised me. This book (and series) does a good job of showing the overall vibe, if not the details, of Sedona. Although something was missing in this book for me, I'm sure other fans of the series will enjoy it. 3.5 stars

I received a copy of this ebook at no cost from Kensington Books and Lyrical Press, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

the story was engaging, well-written, and I love the setting in the desert town of Sedona Arizona. I love hearing about all the spiritual pursuits in the area, I’m on the fence about lots of them much like Rarity but have friends who swear by a lots of them. This time it centres around energy vortexes or fake ones …

This was my first read of this series but I caught up quickly. The cast of characters are great. The mystery kept me guessing. Lynn Cahoon is the queen of the cozy mystery and once again delivers. The blurb for the next book left me with my jaw hanging and anxiously waiting for the next story.

This is the fourth in the Survivors' Book Club Mystery series. Archer, Rarity’s boyfriend is the prime suspect in the death of the new art gallery owner. They were friends in earlier years.

Rarity, Drew, Sam and Jonathan join forces with the rest of the book club to solve this twisty crime.

I truly enjoyed this book, which can be read as a standalone story. Any book by lynn Cahoon sends me to a happy place.

I was sad reading the portion about Shirley, Terrence and George. I get the loyalty but the heartbreak is so ripping.

Looking forward to the next installment.

I was given an advanced reader’s copy and am Not required to leave a positive review.

This book is such a welcome distraction from the craziness of real life. I can always count on Lynn Cahoon to help me remember there are and can be good in the world. Don't get me wrong this isn't a sugary coated everything is daisies kind of story, It"s about how if you just take a moment to be present, talk it out and not make rash decisions you may find exactly what you need.

This book (and series) will just pull you in and make you feel like you are there in what's going on. The characters are real and very relatable.
I wish there were more of these!!

Can't wait to see what happens next.

Rarity Cole has beat cancer, owns a successful bookstore, has some caring friends and lately is involved in solving mysteries. But solving this murder is more important than ever, her boyfriend, Archer is the main suspect!
Finding the real killer becomes an all out effort by the Survivor’s Book Club. The clues and red herrings all add to the enjoyment of this delightful book. Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for the early copy. This review is my personal opinion.

The bookstore gang is putting together a back to school back pack drive. But their honorary grandmother, Shirley has another task in mind. She needs some friends to accompany her and Terrance to the opening of a new art gallery. Terrance is a lonely older man and a neighbor of Rarity’s. Shirley’s husband is in the memory unit and doesn’t recognize her. Shirley doesn’t want to date but wouldn’t mind a little company. It’s a fun night but when the owner is found dead and Rarity’s boyfriend is about to be charged with murder, the book club is back in action. This one will keep you guessing. Loved it!

I love visiting Sedona through the eyes of Rarity Cole and friends. The bookstore is a fun place to visit with all the activities and book clubs.
Vortexes and whether they exist play a large role in the mystery. It’s an interesting part of Sedona and the surrounding area. It causes to reader to wonder about what is possible.
The interpersonal relationships are important in this series. Rarity is building a new life and a chosen family in Sedona. I like Sam, Shirley, Terrance, Archer, Drew, and Jonathon. Holly and Malia aren’t as high on my list but they are helpful in the sleuthing club.
I enjoyed learning more about Shirley and Terrance in Reading Between the Lies.
I recommend getting to know these characters and Sedona by reading the Survivor’s Book Club Mysteries.
Thanks to Netgalley and Lyrical Press for the opportunity to read this book.

Reading Between the Lies is the 4th Survivor's Book Club Mystery series by Lynn Canon and it is as enjoyable as the other books. Rarity Cole owns a bookstore in Sedona, AZ. She is a cancer survivor and after she recovered, she decided to move to Sedona where her best friend Samantha (Sam) lives. The cancer survivor subject is positive and upbeat. Rarity is thankful for surviving and for her new life. Rarity is dating Archer who runs a hiking company. She has friends in the Book Club along with her employee Shirley. The book club is wonderful and the.members help with sleuthing. Rarity's friend Drew is a local police officer. Drew's father Jonathon is visiting and they are both great characters as well as Shirley who is having a rough period. The characters are what make this series so enjoyable! There is a new Art Gallery in town which is causing some controversy especially after someone dies there. One of the.local shop owners is attacked. There aren't that many suspects and I suspected the culprit but wasn't sure until the end. The ending is resolved without any drama or suspense which is nice. Perfect bedtime reading! #ReadingBetweenTheLies. #SurvivorsBookClubMystery #Kensington

Rarity Cole is an amazing main character. She is witty, kind, caring, supportive, intelligent, curious and so much more including a cancer survivor. This cozy mystery series brings you wonderfully written mysteries while instilling hope and support of living your best life regardless what it throws at you as long as you survive. I love that Rarity got a second chance at life after her cancer diagnosis, moved to Sedona to be near her friend and opened a bookstore. The Survivors book club starts out as a supportive and fun reading club that turns into a sleuthing club. If you haven't started this series, you absolutely need to do so right away as you are missing out on extremely relatable characters with real world flaws that make them even more relatable along with well=crafted mysteries and relationships and hours of entertainment. I think this book was the best so far as there were great twists, turns and "red fish" (read the book to figure out why I miffed that saying up)! I absolutely can't wait for more Rarity and her crew! I'm hoping we'll get another book soon!

Reading Between the Lies, the newest installment of the Survivors' Book Club Mystery series, set in Sedona, Arizona, is another opportunity for Rarity Cole, and her Tuesday night book club crew to solve a murder. This time the accused is her boyfriend Archer, and the victim is an old friend of his who has just moved to town to open a new art gallery and development. There is a suspect list to investigate, and different members run around the area to find answers. I enjoy this series with likable characters in an interesting location and always a great murder to solve.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts.
