Overall a fun book, very quick read/listen. I enjoyed it, but wish it had been longer/there was more to it. I’ve seen his videos in the past and found them funny. This sort of pulled those all together with some additional observations and reflections. Thanks for NetGalley for the book & audiobook - I especially enjoyed the author reading it and loved the bonus interview/convo with his mother at the end which helps readers dive a little deeper and get to know more about who Kyle is and what was some of the motivation behind his videos/this book. Worth a listen or read if you’re a fan of dry humor and want a good laugh.

These aren't just hilarious. They're also pretty handy.

So glad this beloved series of TikTok videos can graduate from my bookmarks folder in the app to a handy referencable pocketbook.

(Yes, I will be using "I like your blouse," "How did Anakin get Rey's lightsaber again?" and the classic, total banger, "No," religiously in the future.)

May we all be freed from our goose-ridden boxes someday.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Honestly, first coming into this book, I was suspicious seeing a man was writing how to piss men off. But getting into and finishing it, it was pretty good, and I am glad that a man did write it. Or at least this man, with his unafraid approach to insulting men, including himself. But getting his input to why these insults hurt worst than most and the way you say it makes it special in its own way.

What makes this book unique, is how some of these insults have been used on the author himself. He gives his own real life instances and how/why it hurt him. This book was funny, a one day read, and worth the time, if you want to piss off some men, subtly and not so subtly.

I gave 4 stars because I already heard/read some of these before. Which makes sense considering the author is the one that started the “how to piss off men” tweets and some are probably in here from there.

But oh god, I really want to use these.

Thank you Sourcebooks for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I love Kyle. He’s hilarious and I think it translates well into this book. Just the funniest ways to make men upset.

With 106 phrases, questions, and comebacks, How to Piss Off Men is your guide to comebacks for every type of situation involving a man. Whether it’s referring to his jersey as “cosplay”, telling him you’ll “just Google it” when he begins to mansplain, or

I saw this in a book preview event and immediately asked for it. I work with the public a lot and some of these I would love to give as clap back answers, but would never (but maybe) use.

I actually hadn’t heard of Kyle Prue before this book, but I did go and follow him on TikTok after reading this. I do appreciate the fact that at the beginning of the book, he explains that he is a Cis, white male, and that some of these sayings may not be okay to say in certain settings, and to overall make sure you are in a safe space before saying them - if you actually do.

I was able to find a physical ARC of this, which is now going around my workplace as coworkers enjoy it, so this is a funny read and many have/will enjoy it, especially if you’ve been in a situation with anyone male.

While short, How to Piss Off Men was a very funny book. It's a good coffee table book, and something I'm considering gifting to a few friends, especially those who are in college currently (as I believe they could use it well). While some things aren't applicable to everyone, most all of them gave me a good chuckle, and I paused reading to share quite a few over the shoulders of my friend, and one with a different friend who may have an actual use case.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this book!

I mean, with a title like this how could I pass it up?

Thank you to @netgalley, @sourcebooks, and @kyleprue for the ARC.

I started this last night cause I realized today was the pub day and needed a laugh without using too much brain power. Let me tell you, I couldn't put it down and was snickering the entire time.

Please know that this is a work of comedy and I happen to think Kyle is hilarious and have seen some of his How to Piss Off Men series previously.

I would recommend getting this in physical copy as it's more of a coffee table book and I honestly think everyone should read it. I mean, the first one of the 109 is the classic, "No." Strong start. Even the "How to Use This Book" at the very beginning is hilarious in it's "any middle-school girl can tell you that..." Tell you what? You'll have to read it to find out!

This was a fun little book and had me laughing at times. I really like the author's internet presence, and it was fun to see that translated over.

Short, funny, and to the point. A collection of statements that one (esp. women) can use to piss off men. Hilarious!

Utterly ridiculous, laugh out loud funny, and a fantastic expansion on the TikTok series. Some good suggestions for all occasions, it’s an essential survival tool for bringing down the patriarchy.

On its face, deliberately seeking to piss off men feels like an inadvisable idea at best and a dangerous one at worst.
But there's a thoughtful method to Prue's witty madness. beyond anger lies a plethora of other, more meaningful emotions. And Prue hopes the targets of his 100+ insults will follow the path to the true root of those feelings. In that way, How to Piss Off Men offers those frustrated by men the opportunity to vent their emotions...and offers those men the chance to interrogate theirs.

This "book" was just aight. I was expecting more. More substance. More details. But it was quick. Finish-in-an-hour quick. Just meant to be a collection of the topics this comedian might cover in a skit. Some (few) were funny. Most were, like I said, aight. All-in-all, not mad I read it.

This was humorous and filled with witty banter that had me laughing. However, some of the "insults" felt more demeaning to the women delivering them than to the ones being insulted. It left me with mixed feelings—maybe that’s just my frustration talking. Overall, it’s a fun and light read, but with a few cringe-worthy moments.

Have you ever wanted a great, cutting line to shut the idiot next to you down because he's just spent the last 30 minutes mansplaining to you? Look no further.

This is silly. It's ridiculous. Every one-liner (or two- or three-liner) cuts hard and deep, from the "accidental" fandom crossover to the compliment of a man's sports jersey "cosplay." I giggled my way through this book. It's light-hearted and filled with knee slappers and a bunch of groaner lines you can trot out to great effect, depending on the situation.

Even my 10 year old son (no, he didn't read all the pages with the cursing.) saw the point from the pages I showed him, and giggled himself silly.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity!

I really enjoy the author's videos, and there's a lot of very solid and important reflections in this book regarding "manliness" and male friendships. It was funny while eye-opening, and for the most part, I do believe the author was very mindful about time/place/situation for some of the more provoking comebacks. One thing that didn't fully sit right with me was the amount of responses that involved (women) playing dumb to men (especially to the beloathed mansplainers who are quick to treat you like it either way), but overall, it made for a pretty great read when I needed a laugh!

This was a super fast read (30 min) It did contain several funny lines that made me chuckle. It would be a cute gag gift. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced reader’s copy.

This book was a fun and interesting read! I feel like I was taken aback or surprised by the content while not being surprised? The title is an amazing hook and the book takes hold of you and doesn't let you go!

Laugh out loud funny!!

Quick, easy read full of humor while also briefly addressing the very real issue of toxic masculinity and patriarchy.

Included phrases and questions to piss off men, with explanations and sometimes personal stories about Prue! We’ve all had a man try and mansplain at least once in our lives so this book is perfect for combatting that or just providing some much needed humor in our deeply depressing patriarchy-led world 🥲

I’ve followed Prue for awhile on TikTok so I was really excited to read his book! It’s hilarious and one I’ll be getting a physical copy for my library 🤭

I also liked that he makes note warning that although funny and devastating, these things should only be said if you are safe to do so because well, men are men, and as women, queer people, and/or BIPOC people it’s not always safe to say these things 🙃

My personal favorite phrases included “oh so it’s like Kohl’s cash?” (Say this when a man tries to explain crypto), “I love your cosplay” (say this to a man wearing a sports jersey), and “Team Jacob eh?” (Say this to a man with a wolf tattoo).

I’ll be sharing my review on my social media pages by the end of the week (and updating my review with the links)!
