There is just something about Daniel’s style of writing that does it for me. I’ve read a few of his books and the plots and twists always keep me turning the page. If you are looking for a page turner give Daniel Hurst a try, you won’t be sorry.
What a wonderful story this is. Shannon is a tour guide in Ireland and has taken a leave to give a wealthy family a private tour of off the beat places as they requested. The parents and their son and his nanny arrive at a private airport, and they are on their way. Rosalind, the mother is rude to everyone and the young boy seems somewhat afraid. Rosalind keeps giving clues (like breadcrumbs) along the way of what's to come.
It's an intense story and I had to remember to breath as the intensity increased. The twists will surprise you. From first to last page the book held my interest and I finished it in one day. I would highly recommend this book if you like a great twisted story and a chance to join Shannon on an adventure this book is for you.
Daniel Hurst -another great thriller! I really enjoy most of the books by this author but I really loved this one! Great characters and storyline- I could not put it down and read it in one day! Just a great book by one of my favorite authors! Definitely recommend this one! Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. Can’t wait for his next book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book, it had all the twists and turns and I just couldn’t understand why Donavan and Rosalind wanted to harm Shannon so badly but then it all made sense.
The characters that were written to be unlikeable were very unlikeable and I was annoyed at some of them just as I would be if I was Shannon.
One star deducted as the blurb of the book didn’t match the story. The blurb says that the boy went missing however that wasn’t in the storyline which was frustrating. However, I still enjoyed the book.
Would definitely recommend.
This book is just okay. The writing style is not for me. The blurb does not accurately describe what the book is about, so I was confused when things weren't happening based on the blurb. Some of the twists were good and the story had a bit of suspense. In my opinion, the blurb should be re-written.
Another fantastic outing from Daniel Hurst - his books are always fizzing with twists and intrigue, once again I was
engrossed - I enjoy the plot and thought I had it sussed but no, I hadn't!
I hope the author keeps them coming, a good locked room would be amazing!
Another great book from Daniel Hurst, he never seems to amaze me with his writing and I am fast running out of what to say in my reviews, just brilliant, I don't know how he manages to write so many great books. I think this has to be one of his best for me although I find it difficult to differentiate.
The storyline was excellent with good characters with their own story to tell and I was on the edge of my seat throughout and the ending! who would have guessed?
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this brilliant ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending and I look forward to his next which I am sure wont be very long.
The Family Trip is another great read by Daniel Hurst. I thought I had it all figured out because I guessed one of the plots, but after that it was twist after twist that I didn’t see coming! I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in a day! Thank you to NetGalley for this Arc!
Wow! Daniel always throws you those twists you don't see coming. I figured out one of the plot pieces but then BAM, he was like, HA, bet you didn't see that coming!!! Read it in less than 24 hours. Didn't want to stop. I hope there is a sequel.
** spoiler alert ** 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. Shannon is a tour guide working for a boss who takes most of the profits, in Ireland. She's broke and doesn't know how much longer she can scrape by to pay her bills. She receives an email from Rosalind and Donavan in America asking for a private tour to remote places in Ireland. What they don't tell her is that their young son and his nanny will be coming too. They offer her a prive she cannot refuse and eventually agrees to give them the tour. She plots out the journey and makes sure it is as far away from her boss as possible.
Rosalind is quite the mean woman, snapping at Shannon and making her feel inept. Donovan jumps in to try to right everything. But who exactly are Rosalind and Donovan? Spoiler alert. Not sure this is a spoiler, but just in case....
This was a page turner. I rounded it up to 4 because it was a unique concept. Not too often do we see thrillers with a tour guide. The writing was great and the characters were depicted perfectly, although they weren't all likable, and they weren't supposed to be. I stopped short of 4 stars because I felt the ending fell very flat with me. This book was craning toward a doozy of an ending, whatever that may have been, and then it was just over. The book is rated highly, so I'm guessing it's just me who expected something different.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC. I greatly appreciate it. I highly recommend this book.
If you like surprises and a story you can't figure out on your own because of all of the twists, this is the book for you! I can't tell you how many times my eyes were huge with an OMG in my head. I need 10 stars for this one! I read in one sitting, could not put down!
Donovan and Rosalind hire Shannon for a private tour in Ireland. She works for a travel agency, but takes this job because their offer is too good to turn down, and will give Shannon a fresh start.
This family takes their young son Barnaby and his nanny to Ireland, BUT they have an alternate plan… Why did they really hire Shannon? Did Shannon know why they hired her?
Another captivating novel by Hurst. I can always count on family twist and fast-paced novels that take me away. Although I figured out the twist, I still enjoyed this one.
Another fantastic thriller from Daniel Hurst, full of twists and turns that make you gasp out loud! A brilliant plot that keeps you turning the pages until the shocking ending. Loved it!
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for the arc of The family trip by Daniel Hurst.
Wow!!
I absolutely love Daniel Hurst's books, he has a knack of building the story and characters until you can’t tell what’s going to happen next. The tension is outstanding. The twists and turns are incredible.
I have now read a few of this authors book and I always really enjoy them this was no exception. It had me gripped from start to finish the characters were so well developed and the writing style was just spot on. It was a very fast paced thriller with many twists and turns. I really enjoyed this amazing thriller and I will definitely be recommending this to everyone. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.
I really enjoy Daniel Hurst's novels and writing style. He definitely has a way of building characters and really getting me into the story/guessing what's coming next. This time I had one of the main twists figured out pretty early into it. However, the last twist did surprise me! While this was not my favorite story of his, I did enjoy it and it was a fast/quick read.
I enjoyed this book very much! That's not surprising, considering the author. Daniel is a great writer, and one of my favorites! As I always am with his books, I was hooked from the beginning, and it was so hard to put it down. I couldn't wait to find out how it ended. I wasn't disappointed! This book had plenty of great twists and turns, and ended perfectly. I always look so forward to reading Daniel's books, because I know they will be great!

Absolutely loved everything about this book. The character building was great that made it even more personable for the reader. Lots of plot twists and turns to keep you on your toes right till the end.
Highly recommend.
