This was definitely an intense read and something completely original and different. In this book, a swimmer is struggling to compete against an undercurrent of sexual, mental, and emotional abuse from her coach and the team doctor. She is set to self destruct and finds any means to feel something. This was definitely not something easy to read. Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley.

It’s difficult to say what’s to attribute to the translation or the actual story itself. It’s a short long winded book about swimming and a toxic relationship and a toxic relationship with swimming… so straightforward enough I guess. But there were times where I really don’t know where the narration is taking us. I think more exposition at the start could have helped prepare readers better for what’s to come at least.
