Another lovely book in this Italian series. Amy is a lovely main character and the storyline has plenty of mysteries and secrets to keep your interest all set in the beautiful Italian backdrop

We are back to beautiful Tuscany for this lovely summer read. Amy is one of those driven characters who has put work before everything else and thinks that she has got her future all planned out. Of course, when she is forced to stop for a time due to exhaustion, she has the ideal opportunity to reevaluate her life. A surprise bequest takes her to Tuscany and the beautiful community of Sant' Antonio. I loved the descriptions of the village and the community there. It sounded so inviting.

There is a mystery to unravel around why she has received the gift of the villa she finds there. Renovating it brings her into contact with some lively locals and adds warmth to the story. My favourite character as ever has to be a certain black labrador who befriends Amy. A TA Williams story would not seem right without one. With the promise of new beginnings, Amy soon settles into village life and meets a variety of people. With all the sights and sounds of the Tuscan village, this is a great way to spend a weekend

Escape to Italy with the latest gorgeous summer romance by T A Williams: Far From Home.

Working in Canary Wharf has left Amy on the brink of collapse. Amy has an inheritance and goes to Italy to find out more. As always the setting is so beautifully described that you can imagine yourself there. She meets new friends and has to decide whether she can see her future in Tuscany. I love to have a new T A Williams book to sit down and totally lose myself. You can see the sights and smells and taste the wonderful food. As always, a lovely black lab features.

I love a good home renovation story and love it even more when the renovation includes a character “renovating” her life. This is exactly what I found in Far From Home by T.A. Williams. I read this charming armchair travel in a day and a half and was sorry when it ended because I wanted to stay in Italy with Amy, her wonderful black Lab Max and all of her new friends and found family in the Italian village of Sant Antonio.

The mystery surrounding Amy’s surprise inheritance pulled me right into the story and was fascinating to follow throughout. I loved the descriptions of the beautiful village and felt like I was there, taking long walks with Amy and Max. And the house renovation descriptions were wonderful as well. I could easily visualize this big, old house getting the love and attention it needed–much like Amy herself. The light romance was uplifting and made me sigh when I closed the book. This was my first book by T.A. Williams and it certainly won’t be my last. What a lovely summer reading treat!

My Thoughts :
Having always been a huge fan of Author T.A. Williams books I knew I was in for a real treat.
Here we meet Amy, after collapsing at work her Doctor tells her she needs to take some time out to recuperate and rest.
When Amy unexpectedly finds out she has inherited a house in the town of Sant' Antonio in Tuscany from a man she doesnt even know Amy sets off to get answers.
Soon Amy throws herself into renovating the house and the mysteries and secrets that surround the house are revealed, could Amy start to get some answers!.
Amy meets some new friends who are willing to help her out and of course thrown into the mix is handsome Adam, will he be more than a friend!.
So Amy now has a decision to make, should she return to her job that she loves, even though its at times very stressful or should she take a leap of faith and make a new life for herself in Italy!?.
And once again we are treated to the beautiful surroundings and descriptions of Italy and Tuscany is no different. As a reader we easily get lost in the delights that are offered in these stories and the scrummy food is no exception. Oh and a special mention to the black Lab who is always a firm favourite in the stories.
Looking forward to more from T.A. Williams in the near future.

Sometimes it's good to escape into a book, even if realistically we know that the chances of a stranger leaving us a house in Italy are remote to impossible. When this happens to Amy, her life is turned upside down as she evaluates what she really wants from life.
It seems that she can't have her cake and eat it. On the one hand she wants to return to a job she loves, even though it is very stressful. On the other hand, much as she would like to stay in Italy, she needs to carve out some kind of path for herself if she is to stay. Add Adam into the mix and there is another complication. The author manages to bring it all neatly to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.

Another brilliant read, another I adore
With a mystery and romance at its core.
With great characters who you feel you know
I highly recommend you give this book a go!

Amy's demanding career has led to a health scare. Forced to take time off and reassess her work-life balance and grieving from the loss of her mother, she receives an unexpected legacy in Tuscany from a stranger. Arriving in the town, she makes new friends and finds the answer to a long-kept secret. Amy finds a supportive community, new friends, and the chance of romance. I enjoyed the lyrical descriptions of the culture, food and locations, the believable characters, and the charming Labrador Max, who provides the humour. It's an easy escapist read which leaves you smiling.

I’ve been reading T.A. Williams books since 1918, Dreaming of Florence was the first, he was one of the first author I discovered on Netgalley and never stopped enjoying novels and his lovely cozy mystery series.
I always appreciated how he’s able to describe a setting which is realistic and fictional at the same time. He can talk how hot is Florence in summer and make you wish to be there by describing details and places.
This is another addition to his novels set in Tuscany and I enjoyed the characters, a bit more mature than usual, and how this is a novel that makes you smile but also deals with issues like burn out and overworking.
The storytelling is as good as usual and the characters are fleshed out and relatable.
Read in one setting, waiting for the next one.
Highly recommended.

Far From Home is about Amy, a woman who collapses due to the pressure of her job and gets advised by her doctor to take it easy. A couple days later she receives a mysterious message that she inherited a house in Italy. Unexpected and unknown why and by whom. Because of her roots in Italy and the fact that she needs to take it easier, Amy goes to Italy to get to know her new home. In the meantime, she gets to know herself better, the village in Italy and she has questions about what she wants to do next with her life.

TA Williams describes the Italian atmosphere in a wonderful way (read holiday feeling). This makes me want to imagine myself in Italy, especially with that delicious food.

I flew through the first half of the book. After that, it started to interest me less and less because the mystery (whose house had she inherited?) had been solved. Then it became more about how she could combine her life in London and her life in Italy with the people around her that she met during her time in Italy. I also found some romance there, but this remains on the surface.
All in all, a very entertaining book, but not recommended in my opinion. The writer has done his best to grab the reader.

At the end I read that this book was written by a man. I thought it was special to read that a man tries to tell a romantic story in this way. On the other hand, he knows how to create the Italian atmosphere very well.

What an absolutely beautiful romantic read. This pulled me in from the very first page and I read it in one day. I was totally intrigued as to how it would develop and eventually end and enjoyed every bit of the journey. Amy unexpectedly inherits a house in a lovely village in Tuscany, Italy. However she has never heard of the man who has left everything to her. When she arrives she finds out that he was a much loved member of the community. The story follows Amy’s journey on trying to find answers and how her various relationships develop in both London and Italy. The descriptions of the characters and all the locations made it very visual and makes me want to go and visit.

This story makes for a good holiday read where you can pick it up and put it down at will, as it doesn’t really grip you so that you don’t want to put it down. The characters are all very nice, but you don’t feel you really get to know any of them, and some of the descriptions can get tiresome. An ok read but nothing to shout home about

I enjoy reading books by this author - well-written, lovely descriptions of Italy the landscape and food, generally a gentle romance with some associated substance. In this case it was a neglected massive house left to a high finance, hot shot banker of sorts. She's overdoing it and told to take a break and heads to her mystery inheritance. No idea who the former owner was let alone why he left her the house and his fortune although I think many of guessed why. Plenty of intriguing characters helping her renovate the little hospital but I still cannot believe what gets done in four weeks in Italy with Italian bureaucracy. There is, of course, a black labrador but this time he has a sister as well. Enjoyable light read for a sunny afternoon but don't read too many to close together - there are certain routes used by the author making rather similar stories. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

There were so many elements to enjoy in Far From Home:

-Idyllic Tuscan village setting;
-Friendly, helpful local residents;
-A female lead at a personal crossroads;
-A poignant father-daughter story;
-Romance; and
-A friendly Labrador that quickly establishes residence in lead character Amy's heart.

For me, this story was full of positive vibes. Although Amy's unexpected Italian inheritance from a man she never knew is bittersweet, she wastes no time forming friendships, building local connections and making the most of her new options in life. Amy's British BFF Lucy provides a nice touch of humor. I especially got a kick out of Lucy's man-crazy attitude and fixation on the handsome Italian building contractor😊.

Altogether a quick, easy, fun read. (Only wish I could have been there with them!)

Lovely holiday read about a young woman,Amy who works at a fast paced job in London. Amy collapses with exhaustion and then receives word that she's inherited a villa in Tuscany.
I enjoyed this book. Amy has to find out who left her the house in Tuscany as she has never heard his name before.
The descriptions of the countryside and the villa makes you want to step inside the book.
I was a bit worried about Amy as she falls in love with a man who leads an unconventional life and I thought that could cause problems for her.
Along with a lovely labrador there is enough in this story to make it an enjoyable read.
