This book was a little bit too messy for my taste. Overall it's a fun fast read for kids who like a cute spooky things.

This jam-loving vampire is clever, and so is this book! The wonderful silliness of jam vs. blood will give young readers both a pleasantly spooky shiver and a good out-loud laugh. Kids can also look for subtle clues along the way as to the true identity of their narrator, especially on a second read. Well-written, vividly illustrated and totally fun!

Adorable! It is a cutesy book about jam going array. Small simple book without too much detail. Would make a great board book. The art is dark with bright red jam. Great Halloween book without being spooky.

Cute little story. Would be a fun one to read and discuss in a primary classroom. A great story for Halloween time. I could definitely see myself creating a lesson around it.

From the very first bite, Vampire Jam Sandwich is a hilariously spooky treat that both kids and parents will enjoy! If you're a fan of Dragons Love Tacos or Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted to Dance, this clever picture book will feel right at home in your collection.
The story? A vampire—possibly named Terrence—sinks his fangs into a jam sandwich, only to create a ... Vampire ... Jam ... Sandwich! This undead snack isn’t your ordinary PB&J—it’s cursed to roam from one unsuspecting kitchen to the next, always on the lookout for more jam. Is your pantry safe? Probably not. The premise is delightfully absurd, and kids will eat up every squishy, spooky detail.
Casey Lyall masterfully pulls off silly humor for the little ones and an unreliable narrator for the adult readers, with plenty of surprises to keep everyone laughing.
With its playful wordplay, delightfully silly premise, and a storyline that's completely unique, this book is an instant hit for bedtime or story time.
I highly recommend adding it to your bookshelf. Just, you know, keep an eye on your jam jar (and that sneaky narrator). 🩸🍞

How does one review a book about a vampiric sandwich? Well here goes nothing.
Casey Lyall, in very few words, is able to weave a compelling, and silly, story about a "Vampire" named Terrence. The art style lends itself well to the rather macabre story and the narrator. I found myself reading the story in my very best Vincent Price impression to add to the gothic nature. This is not to say that "Vampire Jam Sandwich" is meant to be a scary story; spooky and campy are more the direction I would say it took.
Overall, this is a great picture book and, as a youth librarian, one that I will be waiting for to come into our collection. Simple enough for a kiddo to read themselves, but it can also be a read-aloud and especially would work great as a story-time book. I give it my full recommendation
The only negative I see is, now I am hungry for a jam sandwich, be right back...

I loved this book! It was adorable. This is perfect for children, just dark and gothic enough for little baby bats, appropriate and not too scary. I will buy it for my children when it is published.

This is such a sweet (yes pun intended) book! I love the eerie vibes from the images and I can picture a lot of potential for a Count Dracula impression during a read-aloud. This story will have little ones giggling and it's perfect for the Halloween season even though it could be read at any time of the year.

Perfect for kiddos that love spooky stories.
Vampire Jam Sandwich is equal parts adorable and ridiculous fun. My children (6 & 4 years old) already love telling their own little scary stories by flashlight, or booklight, in the dark. VJS will definitely inspire and broaden their imaginations for spooky tales. The illustrations are beautiful and match the story perfectly with using selective coloring, highlighting the red jam.

Comical picture book about a vampire that eats a jam sandwich causing the sandwich to become a vampire. Silly and fun.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review. I waited until Halloween to read it out-loud, and it was SOOO appropriate for all ages! Older children and adults will understand the jokes a bit better though.
Cute little children's picture story book that seems to be more a joke noticing that strawberry jam is similar in color to what vampires prefer, and takes off on that as a joke while telling how to keep your jam safe. A sandwich bitten by a vampire becomes a vampire - of sandwiches! Of course, the author misses the obvious, such as only having peach jam which is certainly not to be confused with blood. Worthy of a good Halloween laugh by adults and children alike! I would not suggest it for a bed time story. While not really scary, it's a bit too exhilaratingly funny.

The story about Terrence and the vampire jam sandwich was a very cute, and funny read about protecting your jam from a vampire jam sandwich. The artwork was very appealing to look at and wanted to read more when I got to the end of the story.

This is a story about Terrence..er..a vampire.. that loves strawberry jam sandwiches. He bites a jam sandwich, so of course, the jam sandwich also turns into a vampire! To protect yourself from the jam sandwich vampire, it is best to put all of your strawberry jam into a box and leave it for Terrence. I mean, the vampire. Very cute and not so spooky story with illustrations that highlight the color of the jam to make it really pop.

Utterly delightful. From the humor to the writing, the illustrations and the plot, this book is a joy to read. The idea behind it is very clever and I think adults and children alike will gobble up this story.

This children’s book has all the makings to be a childhood favorite.
When a vampire bites a jam sandwich, naturally, the jam sandwich becomes a vampire!
The illustrations are so pretty. The colors are deep, the images are engaging, and the whole setting is very detailed.
The story is adorable, and a child learning to read will have an absolute blast learning to read this story.

An adorable story about what happens when a jam obsessed vampire tries to have a delicious jam sandwich! I loved this book! The illustrations were amazing and the whole book has such a cute and spooky vibe! This is the perfect Halloween read!
