My favorite parts of this book? A grumpy microwave and a protective raccoon familiar. I love a good childhood friends to lovers, as well as an an enemies to lovers trope, but it could have been executed better. I loved everything about the supernatural aspect of this as well, but the two protagonists were just so insufferable at times. Seth the werewolf and Cassie the newly powerful witch are on a quest to find a potion that will cure his werewolf pheromone induced horniness lmao it just gave such twilight vibes. Main comparison is that if he has sex with Cassie he will simply break her with his massive penis 🤣 there was so much heavy petting, talk of sex and how it can’t possibly because they’re actually attracted to eachother / love each other, that by the time the spicy stuff happened it just felt a little weird? There was a lot of potential for this one and I did enjoy a lot of it, but it was also just very corny and silly 🤣
I really enjoyed this book! The humor and the relationship between the main characters were a highlight, and the writing was engaging. The paranormal elements added a fun twist to the story, keeping things fresh and exciting. I also found myself curious about the main character’s grandma, and I would have loved to learn more about her.
That said, the pacing felt a little off at times, and I’m not a big fan of the miscommunication trope that played a part in the plot. Despite that, I still had a great time reading this book and would definitely recommend it to others!
This book took me awhile to finish, which is why this review has taken me so long. I tried to get into it a few times, but struggled with getting hooked. I did not like the dialogue in a book that is dialogue-heavy which led me to not really enjoy the characters. The story was good, but the characters and dialogue (which are a huge part of any book) fell flat for me. I finished this book and if the book had the pacing and vibe of the ending, it would have been more interesting throughout. 3.5 stars.

the description of this book being WWDTS and Gilmore Girls is very very wrong. I did not feel like I was watching an episode of either of those shows play out here which is a huge bummer, however, i've read charlotte's books before so i took it with a grain of salt, which you absolutely should do too.
ignoring the description entirely, go into this book knowing it's going to be quirky, full of pop-culture references, and also a little smidge of fatphobia. i had to take an entire star away alone for that piece because i am so so sick of every "fat girl book" having fatphobia and a bullied fmc who happens to be of average size. even the girl on the cover is not huge! she is of average build! i know this seems crucial to her character development, but ffs it's not. she was cool in high school and she's cool now!! thanks for coming to my ted talk!
outside of those areas of opportunity, i really enjoyed the smut. best friends turned enemies turned lovers is hot. it always will be. and it's hot here too. thoroughly enjoy this trope and adding a dash of paranormal romance never hurts anyone either. witches and werewolfs 4eva!!
Really struggled to get into this one. The premise was fun, especially the idea of a supernatural sanctuary, but it was dogged down by the fact that this was lowkey a bully romance. The MMC consistently fat-shamed the FMC throughout school, something that would absolutely put me off of that person forever. I just struggle with Stein’s choice of redeeming these men.
A fun, easy paranormal romance! If you're looking for more plot than spice, look elsewhere. But the chemistry is great, the world is fun, and we love a story about women coming into their power.
I struggled with this one a bit. It started off really strong. I loved the dynamic between Cassie and Seth; however, the later half of the book slowed down and then rushed the end in the last few chapters. I feel like this would have been fantastic as a novella. Otherwise, this was a fun read, and I enjoyed the focus on bullying and friendship.
What a fun read How to Help A Hungry Werewolf was! I love a good friends to lovers story, and Cassie and Seth were totally adorkable. This book was filled with hilarious one-liners and silly shenanigans. So much focus was placed on the two main characters, but I wish there were more characters to love. I wanted more microwave! More raccoon! More depth from the "villains". I wanted to learn more about Cassie and Seth as individuals, but the story focused solely on them as a pair. I'm excited to see where this series goes because it's a set-up to a very fun and quirky world!
Cassie is closing out her late grandmother 's estate, when her ex-best friend, Seth, shows up and claims she is a powerful witch who can help with his werewolf urges. They make a pact to help each other, but a mating bond adds some unexpected *tension* to their deal.

Thanks to NetGalley & St. Martin's Press for the copy in exchange for an honest review. Sadly, I DNF'ed at 20% of the way through.
The dialogue-heavy writing style and jokes thrown every 5 seconds wasn't doing it for me. The jokes didn't land well and will age very quickly if they haven't already. It didn't help that I couldn't bring myself to like either of the two main characters, they were immature idiots.
I have been provided with a review copy of How to Help a Hungry Werewolf from NetGalley for an impartial review. I just loved getting to enter this world. I just loved getting to meet these characters and see what they are currently getting themselves into. This book was just a really fun read. I just lost myself in this great story and I didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens next from this author.

A lot of hate surrounding this book for some reason. But i had a cute, spicy good time at it. I do wish there was more about the town because it would have given more of the cozy vibes i was expecting. Pod definitely made the last quarter of this book for me, i wish he would have been in more. But i am definitely open to continuing on in the series.
The comp titles were very off though. Being that those were the reason i picked this up. I didnt really see many resemblances.
I ended up listening to this on audio. The narrators were good, the story was decent. I liked the magic aspect and how Cassandra helped Seth with everything. Some of the parts felt forced and juvenile, but overall it was a fun read.
I love everything that Charlotte writes!
This was the perfect spooky fall read. I loved the paranormal aspect and look forward to more from her🥰
Loved this steamy paranormal romp! The characters were sweet, I enjoyed the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers plot, and I'm looking forward to more in this series. It's definitely a slow burn with an impressive payoff!
I wanted to Love this so much. But I felt the Paranormal was off and the BIG conflict was a after thought in my mind. The prolog not great already hated the male main character. Then how he became a wolf I wasn't sold on. This had some really cute moments but was just a rush on these parts and getting the magic and understanding it was a little to easy.
I'm hopefully for the 2nd book
Thank you NetGalley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest opinions.
I was disappointed in How to Help a Hungry Werewolf. I was looking forward to this read because I really enjoyed the premise and it came out just in time for Fall/Halloween, but the writing just didn't do it for me. It felt immature and the characters were difficult to like at time. This book just wasn't really for me.
I adored this novel, it was imaginative, sexy and fun! Charlotte Stein creates her own world and rules in this modern day paranormal. Stein’s writing is evocative, entertaining and exciting! This novel is a well paced, witch/werewolf, second chance paranormal romance that ripples with tension and sizzles with chemistry. Stein’s characters leap off the page and the circumstances are fun and unique to Stein’s world. I loved that Stein is able to balance lighthearted and intense moments giving the reader the balance between a modern tone romance with a paranormal and magical world. I loved the tension between the hero and heroine, these two past friends learn to trust each other again, and watching their mating dance is sexy and sensual! If you are in the mood for a fun and sensual paranormal romance that Charlotte Stein’s How to Help a Hungry Werewolf delivers! I am excited to see where Stein grows this world!
Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advanced e-copy of How to Help a Hungry Werewolf, in exchange for an honest review.
How to Help a Hungry Werewolf by Charlotte Stein is a fun enemies-to-lovers romance with a mix of childhood friends and a touch of bully romance. Set in a charming, offbeat town, the story offers a unique paranormal twist that makes a very interesting read. The writing style is light and playful, with short, punchy sentences full of humor and attitude. This style might be a hit for some readers who enjoy a fast-paced, snappy tone, but others might find it a bit over-the-top or repetitive. I found myself somewhere in the middle.
Even though the writing might not be for everyone, the book does a great job of building up intriguing storylines for future books in the series, which kept me interested. The romance is sweet and steamy, and the characters have great chemistry, making their relationship fun to follow. The paranormal aspects add some extra charm to the story, while the mix of humor and spice keeps things engaging.
Overall, How to Help a Hungry Werewolf is an enjoyable read for anyone looking for a lighthearted, quirky paranormal romance with plenty of heart. Fans of enemies-to-lovers and supernatural romance will likely find it a fun escape.
3.5 Stars!
This was a rolllllercoaster, great start, weirdish middle, decentish end. I can't decide if I like it or not. It does have a raccoon, and solely for that, it got a star. I will read anything with a raccoon.
3.5 rounded up to four
Arc received from the publisher; all thoughts and opinions are my own. I have purchased my own physical copy of this one.
I loved this! I will admit, what drew me to it was the raccoon on the cover because they're my favorite animal... and TALKING RACCOONS? Immediately a new favorite!
