I struggled with the cheating trope in this book. Whilst I understand the theory, it wasn’t executed as well as it could be.
This was an odd romance. Not my cup of tea but if you like modern technology having a roll in your dating stories than this is a good choice.
This is a great rom-com! It hooked me on the first page and I couldn't put it down. I loved everything about this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
I received a complimentary copy from New Fable Press via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This book was cute in theory but the execution didn't do it for me. I really liked the idea of AI - but I expected something different. I appreciate the author trying to tackle cheating and finding some redemption in Luke despite his infidelity - but the cheating trope is a tough one. I so appreciate the opportunity to read this Arc and I look forward to seeing what other books Erin Lucy publishes next.
Meet Cute Reboot by Erin Lucy is a nice second-chance romance. I enjoyed the romance and the likeability of the main characters. I love the book demonstrated that cheating should not be accepted but opened the door for second chances after healing had happened. Thank you, Netgalley, for sending me the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback

So- will start this review off by saying I did enjoy this book as far as character and writing style goes, however the story was not my favorite.
This book was a cute idea with match AI and the relationship of the characters/ how it all goes down, but the execution was lacking. I’m not a huge fan of second chance romance but I do enjoy them from time to time- that wasn’t the issue though, it was WHY the MMC needs a second chance in the first place.
I also felt that the dynamic between the two main characters was not great not only that but it was so random like neither of them could make up their minds or something. One minute they act one way and the next it’s like they’re a whole different character. I felt like they were both self centered and not right for each other and it wasn’t the happy light hearted rom-com it was made out to be. All in all I would give it 3 stars it wasn’t terrible but also not my favorite. I am thankful for the opportunity to read this story.
A delightful lighthearted story that depicted real life well. A reminder that people can choose to change and do life differently. A call to honest open relationships.
Thanks to Netgalley, New Fable Press, and of course Erin Lucy for giving me the opportunity to read and review “Meet Cute Reboot”!
“Meet Cute Reboot” involves Cassie and Luke, exes who have been matched by Cassie’s new ai-powered dating app, MatchAI. With Charleston set as the background, this sweet southern, second chance romance will take you for a spin as it untangles Cassie and Luke’s past, their present, and their future. Content Warning for mentions of: infidelity, divorce, alcohol use, and parental loss.
I absolutely adored this book from the beginning! It hooked me right from the first chapter. Cassie and Luke are completely relatable characters each in their own way. Cassie is a strong female lead whose strength lies in her sensitivity. Luke is determined and working hard on himself, in addition to being a responsible and funny guy. The fake dating plot is to die for! It really helps add to the awkwardness and comedy of it all.
Overall, a big thumbs up and five stars for “Meet Cute Reboot”. I would 100% reread this book.
This book had all the right things to make a great story. A MMC that will do anything to get the MFC back, quirky families and side characters, and even cute animals thrown in. However for me this was just an ok read for me.
Cassie has developed an AI app that will match you with “the one” and she is going to be the first one to test it. She decides to let the app choose her match on live TV. Imagine her surprise when she is matched to her cheating ex, Luke! In a moment of panic she acts like she does not know him and sets up there first date. As she goes on dates with him that are all live streams she keeps up the ruse that they have never met. Cassie absolutely does not want to date Luke but the internet loves him, so she continues in order to keep her business alive. The more time she spends with Luke the more she starts to see that he has changed.
I really like Luke. When I started the book I really thought I would not like him because of the cheating, however I felt like he was truly sorry for his actions and wanted to change. I also felt like Cassie jumped to conclusions and never gave him a chance to explain. I also don’t really think he cheated. I did not think the punishment matched the crime where Luke was concerned.
I didn’t care for Cassie. She was so unforgiving but yet she was being completely dishonest to her customers. She did not give Luke a chance to explain himself and consistently jumped to conclusions.
I liked the family dynamics and side characters, however at times it was a bit much. We got a lot of descriptions and back stories that I felt were unnecessary and did not add anything to the story. It also made the story feel very long. I also felt like there were some unanswered plot holes. Like who was sending the bots to attack her program. Maybe it was not important but if the author took the time to write it in I really wanted to know who it was.
If you like second chance romances this book is for you.
I loved the description of the book and found it to be unique. There were aspects of the story that were just too much for me. I wanted to like Luke and Cassie but they both fell a little flat for me. Luke's cheating and manipulating was talked about a lot throughout the book.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
Super cute original/unique idea for a book! I love the concept of match making ai & had a blast reading.
First of all, Thank You Netgalley for the ARC granted, I have to start this saying that I loved the writing. The author surely has attracted my attent through every page. But I also have to be honest to say that sinc ethe very first pages of the narrative, the story sounded conflicting taking the premise and its execution. I strongly don't like cheating tropes at any kind (altough I believe someone could failed into something important and change and become a better person, I get to believe that that was the message the writer was intending to share). But what the author showed us in some of the male protagonist actions did was reinforced that flaws, tha He was doing it on purpose even tough not always intentionally (like, manipulative choices to the female protagonist). That made me disconnect a lot with the plot, because If We, the readers(specially female romance readers) cannot find true meaning and relate good intentions into the guy who is supposed to us to cheer him on, the love story fails into its purpose (unless the main esson was to know the kind of Guy to NOT TRUST). Also, to a book who claims to be immersed in christian beahviour and principles, I can unfortunately assure everyone that We see a few- very few of it in the story)to be delicate), So if You get this book to other than enjoy some romance story, You might get a little disapointed. (as a christian reader myself, I felt that) So, am I saying the book wasn't good? No at all! Like I said in the beggining, the writing catches our attention in a way We cannot pull down until it's finished, So the author has this credit for sure. There are some other things that I doesn't liked but, overall, it was good with caveats and contradictions that I think it good to know in antecipation if You wanna read this one.
I post my reviews as the notes I had during reading. Annotating if you may.
The excessive rambling about the cat got old after 2 pages.
I like Cassie, she’s relatable.
I dislike second chance cheating tropes.
Easy to read, didn’t have to take too many breaks.
Deff gave the feels, and I loved how Cassie was so direct and straight with Luke @ the first 2 dates. She didn’t stick to her guns the more the book went along tho.
Luke sometimes came through a little more feminine than the characteristics paint him to be. He also came off very childish which is hard to compute given he’s a business tycoon.
Luke is super manipulative!! I hated his tactics to hand out with her, and she fell for it every single time.
The book cover she has straight hair but in the story she has curls which kept nagging me in the back of my head.
Luke has a kid that’s not his kid? What’s going on? His character doesn’t make the most sense. How is he a habitual cheater but also taking care of a kid that’s not his?
Book feels written by older woman which made the tone of the book seem unrealistic given the character was only in the early 30s i believe. The books also came off very religious. Church was a main environment through out the story.
Overall rating 3.75

This was a quick and cute read. This has second chance romance, miscommunication, serious topics, and AI.
I was hooked right from the summary and I knew that this would be something that I would eat up in a heart beat. I've been ready to recommend this book before I even actually read it.
I can't wait to read more from this author!
Let's start with the positives. The premise of this book was fantastic. Who wouldn't want to read about a second-chance romance where the CEO of a dating app and the venture capitalist ex find their happy ending? Between that and the *beautiful* *stunning* *fitting* cover, I was like, "Sign me up!" And if you enjoy a book between two incredibly flawed characters reconciling heavy pasts, you may want to pick this up.
Unfortunately, I did not love this book. Once I started reading, and having read the description and all the warnings about the book being closed door/containing Christian content, I was confused from line one. There were mentions of all kinds of materials that are not consistent with faith-based living and wouldn't have expected in a Christian book. Now, I would have been okay with that, if the way Cassie had talked about the other women in the book reflected any Christ-like love or kindness. But Cassie used mean words and terms to ensure she was a constant victim throughout the text. Being unable to connect with Cassie, I wanted to rely on our male love interest, but his chapters lacked their own voice and often had me wondering if it was Cassie or Luke I was following. My last note is that there were a variety of unfulfilling subplots that may have been relevant to the main plot at times, but detracted from the overall romance of the story. I would have preferred to spend the time with our main couple, and especially with diving into Luke's remorse for what he put Cassie through because when our two main characters were on page together, I felt like they could reconcile and even manage a happy ending.
All of the above statements are my own opinions, and I appreciate the opportunity from New Fable Press and Erin Lucy to read and review this ARC.
The cover and premise of Meet Cute Reboot drew me to it. It is a rom-com about Cassie Sears, the creator of an AI matchmaking app, and her ex-boyfriend, Luke Curtis. Luke cheated on Cassie and broke her heart years ago, but he is now a changed man looking to reconnect with her. Cassie was wounded by Luke and has no interest in reliving the pain again. As the story begins, Luke finagles his way back into Cassie’s life during her live App launch. She reluctantly lets him stay to save face, but where do they go from there?
The Meet Cute Reboot by Erin Lucy is a romantic comedy with serious themes. The book discusses drinking, cheating, divorce, trust, and forgiveness, to name a few. It was a fine read, but I found it a little edgy for my tastes.
I received a complimentary copy of this book by Erin Lucy and New Fable Press. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
The premise of "Meet Cute Robot" was a great idea but I wasn't as into the story as I'd hoped to be. I also struggled with this being categorized Christian Fiction. There was a mention of church, but there were other things in the story such as cheating, divorce due to no sexual attraction, an overnight stay prior to marriage and other more explicit content that is not something that Christian fiction readers prefer in something categorized Christian fiction. The book could have been much better without that in there or not having the prior marriage at all. I know that we all make mistakes but in a book to encourage Christian readers, some of the topics are ones better left to the general fiction realm.
For general fiction the book was a cute rom com idea. fun characters and I liked the idea of this "Cupid" dating app. The writing to me was just ok and I had to start and stop the book several times to finish it.
Thank you to Netgalley and New Fable Press for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
I tried out this new to me author because her website blog was faith based. But man oh man is her writing not. It was all about skin and body parts. Faith was only thrown in as a church and wearing crosses. Cheating boyfriends, heavy make-out sessions, and sleeping with people as normal parts of life is not the type of book I wanted to read, even if it was closed-door. My mistake. I also didn't care for all the potty talk--I didn't find it funny, just somewhat crude. Also, there was a lot of repetition in their thoughts, and it just never pulled me into the day to day things they went through.
This is just fantastic and I just could not put it down! It’s well written, well crafted, full of imagination, full of humour and had me laughing out loud with tears! A fast-paced, spellbinding romance complete with outrageous and hot hot hot characters, this is another hit for this author!
