Like the author I am Brazilian, so a book that has as background Brazilian culture and the famous location of Rio was something that really caught my eye. It was really cool to understand things that maybe someone that is not Brazilian or did not live here could probably not recognize (like the words in portuguese between the english phrases). Even with the familiarity I still was a foreigner of some kind, being someone from a different region of the country and have never traveled to Rio. All these things, paired with an awesome writing, really gave me a feeling between knowing something and the unknown. I recommend this book to someone that wants to see a different perspective in scifi, a story that gives a feel of a country without being stereotypical. Really good book.

Thank you netgalley and Android Press for this eARC.

These are some good stories, and I enjoyed all the Brazilian cultural influences. I did wish these stories had had a good native English-speaking editor read through them before they reached this stage. The title story had perhaps the most lines that made almost no sense as written, but several other stories had some unfortunate phrasing or odd sentences that need editing to take this book from a 4-star quaint foreign short story collection to a 5-star story collection. Still, for readers who are getting bored with the same imagery and stories over and over, this is a potentially refreshing climate fiction story collection.
