Anime and Manga are HUGE right now! Trying to find what to carry in our store can be extremely difficult. One Piece is a fun addition and this volume was a quick, easy read. I have to say, Fish-Man Island would not be my sort of place to hang out :)
A slightly off-putting art style, but the characters read true to the original series and the pace remains quick and interesting.

One Piece: Ace's Story Vol. 2, titled "New World," dives deeper into the life of Luffy's fiery older brother, Portgas D. Ace. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:
Picking up after the events of Vol. 1, Ace sets his sights on the treacherous New World, a lawless region teeming with powerful pirates. This volume delves into the cutthroat competition and thrilling battles that define this part of the Grand Line. It shows Ace getting deeper into the New World.
We get a closer look at the Spade Pirates also known as Ace's crew. The dynamic between Ace, his first mate Thatch, and the other crew members is explored, giving readers a better understanding of their bond and motivations. This aspect might be particularly interesting for fans who enjoy the camaraderie within pirate crews.
The volume delves into Ace's past and the struggles he faces due to his lineage. We might see flashbacks or internal monologues that shed light on his burden and his determination to carve his own path.
Boichi’s art is as amazing as ever so expect exciting battles as Ace and his crew clash with other pirates and New World threats. Artist Boichi's renowned art style brings these encounters to life with dynamic layouts and detailed action sequences. Be prepared for some truly stunning visuals. I would expect no less from the illustrator of Dr. Stone
Some drawbacks is since this is a side story, it might not directly impact the main One Piece storyline. However, it offers valuable insights into Ace's character and the world he inhabits. Another point to consider is that some readers might find the art style jarring if they're used to Eiichiro Oda's original illustrations in the main One Piece series.
Overall, One Piece: Ace's Story Vol. 2 is a thrilling addition to the One Piece universe. It offers action, character development, and a glimpse into the harsh realities of the New World. If you're a fan of Ace or want to explore the One Piece world beyond Luffy's journey, this volume is definitely worth checking out.
