An intriguing mystery with a twist. Set in Singapore, it follows Detective Inspector Chen, the police department's "snake agent" -- a detective responsible for investigating supernatural and mystical crimes/situations. I really like this sub-genre of urban fantasy/crime, and I welcomed the different setting (there are a LOT set in London and major US cities).

A great start to a series, and a good introduction to Williams's writing. Looking forward to reading the other five books in the series. (All of which are also published by Open Road Media.)
