Elin is to Beach reads as Sarah is to a Christmas reads for me. Her Christmas books are some of my favorite and I look forward to them every year. I loved The Holiday Cottage. The bit of added mystery to the whole story really drew me in. I felt for Imogen, having to spin stories for her coworkers so she didn’t have to talk about her sad life and lack of family and friends. The fact that her mother is such a piece of work is heartbreaking. This one is definitely full of family drama and some happy endings. Be sure to make this one a priority read this holiday season.
I loved this book! It packed a punch in the very best way and made me feel all of the things. My heart broke along with the characters and as I read on it was put back together and I was left with a warm sense of happiness. The setting, a cottage on an estate in a small village in the Cotswolds' provided the perfect holiday setting. The characters were human as they dealt with life and years of family secrets. I liked that the characters were not perfect and were trying to do their best. I highly recommend this book.
Sarah Morgan's Christmas books are absolutely addictive. The Holiday Cottage is yet another perfect read for the season. Her stories are the best balance of sentimental family drama, romance, humor and tears. Here, Imogen is a workaholic with no family trying to get through the holidays by making up enough of a family to get along with her colleagues at work. But when her boss notices she is close to burnout she is forced to take time off before the Christmas break. When a client invites her to spend the time at a cottage in the Cotwolds, well who could say no to that? The is a sweet story with a few twists, not to mention a very cute golden retriever. What more could a reader want? I will be reading all the Sarah Morgan novels I can find from this point on.
I swear it doesn't feel like Christmas until I read a book by Sarah Morgan, and even though The Holiday Cottage isn't super heavy on the holiday piece of things, it still contains all the warmth and fuzzy feelings you want around this time of the year. I loved that this book was told from three different viewpoints and Imogen, Dorothy, and Sara each added something new to the story which is always appreciated. Words can't even begin to describe all of the various emotions I felt while reading this, and if you are a sucker for a light romance wrapped up in a family storyline, this should hit the spot.
I also happened to love the audiobook, and I thought Henrietta Meire did a superb job with all 3 POVs. Though I do prefer multiple narrators for multiple viewpoints, she was a dream to listen to and managed to perfectly embody each character. I felt so bad for Imogen who had the type of mom no person should have, and I loved that the way all three women ended up being connected brought a deeper emotional element to the book. It's not all sad though! There is a nice HEA, 2 adorable little girls, and plenty of humor along the way. Read this if you like provocative family drama, wintery settings, and picturesque villages where everyone knows everyone.
"The Holiday Cottage" is a heartwarming and uplifting story that truly captures the holiday spirit we need this Christmas. I love how Sarah Morgan crafts compelling narratives and characters. Even though the plot was somewhat predictable, I still found myself engrossed in the pages and deeply connected with the characters. This was exactly the type of story I needed to boost my festive spirit.
I particularly enjoyed the characters of Imogen, Milles, Dorothy, Sara, and the girls, not to mention Ralph! Reading this book was a joy; it was a real page-turner, and I can't wait to see what Sarah Morgan writes next.
4.5 ⭐️ rounded to 5!
Imogen has an amazing, glitzy job in London, and she’s great at it! However, she’s a workaholic and has a difficult time letting anyone else take the reins to help with tasks. So much so, that she invents a life of close-knit family, friends, fun and even a dog to fit in with her co-workers. After a major burnout, Imogen is forced to take time off during the Holidays after everything seems to come crashing down around her. When a close client of hers offers her a stay at her cottage in the Cotswalds, she jumps on it, and then everything begins to change.
I absolutely adore Christmas, so I knew I would love The Holiday Cottage! It was charming, cute, and also a bit unexpected in such a great way! I loved Imogen’s story and growth, and all the other characters are so likable. The London and Cotswalds backdrop is so perfect for a Holiday read. It truly gave me the “warm & fuzzies” and I didn’t want it to end!
If you love movies like The Holiday and Love Actually, and especially if you love Christmas, you need to cuddle up with this cozy read immediately! I could definitely see myself reading this every Holiday season.

I think I've read just about all of Morgan's Christmas books and a few of her summer books at this point. I didn't love her book last Christmas, but wanted to give her another try since I usually enjoy her stories. I am so glad I did because I LOVED this story! I immediately loved the main characters and their development across the novel. The setting was absolutely magical and I wish I could go for a stay in the Cotswold's and stay in this cottage. The story had everything I want in a happy Christmas book-lovable characters, a gorgeous setting, the Christmas spirit, love, and a happy ending. This one had the bonus of a dog! This was such a good story and in my opinion, Morgan has redeemed herself for the book I didn't enjoy last Christmas! Can't wait for her next book.
This is the perfect book if you want a cozy Christmas read!
This is a fun Christmas book. What started out difficult turns into a magical experience. I don’t want to share spoilers. You need to meet all the characters of this little village. I can see a series coming from this event. Thank you for the ARC.
I experienced all the emotions with this book. The characters are caring, fun, and even quirky for the most part and we should all have coworkers like Imogen's! The scenery and cottage were depicted beautifully and I wanted to spend the holiday there. I totally didn't see the plot twist coming, but it adds so much to the book. This is a heartwarming Christmas book that I highly recommend!
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I have read, and enjoyed, several other books by Sarah Morgan. I enjoyed this one as much as the others.
Another great holiday book by Sarah Morgan! This one takes place in London and the English countryside. I loved the depth of story - Imogen's broken relationship with her mother. Not all holiday novels, especially romance, have complex storylines. I loved the imagery of the English countryside and the preparations for Christmas. It felt like I was there, and really got me in the holiday spirit. The characters were likable and easy to connect with.
I just adore the authors books and up until now my favorite seasonal read from her was The Christmas Sisters but this may take the top spot for me now. It was SO good, it has a mix of romance, family drama, holiday festivities and second chances and I adored every single page. Parts were emotional and somewhat heavy but it was balanced by holiday activities and Christmas charm. It didn’t hurt that there were cute kids and animals too, definitely some levity for some of the heavier issues. There are bits set in London but the majority takes place in a quaint and charming village, a perfect wintery setting. I’ve been reading a ton of seasonal romances and this was one of the best I’ve read this year!
An endearing family drama that follows the main character in her journey to find out who she really is and who is her family. Mixed with some mystery, drama, and subterfuge. Really enjoyed this story. Great holiday read.
Sarah Morgan has a knack for writing involving stories with good characters. In her latest book, I enjoyed getting to know Imogen (even if she exhausted me) and Dorothy. Their lives change over the course of the novel and readers will always be hoping that these changes are for the better. Readers will also hope that each is able to be honest about their backstories.
Imogen works hard, really hard, like all the time hard. She is very good at the event planning that she does until…
Dorothy has experienced sadness with the death of her husband. She feels fortunate to have a daughter and granddaughters even if her daughter feels that Dorothy is too close to Imogen.
What brings these women together? How do their stories intersect? Find out in a book that kept me wanting to read more. Now, I will wait impatiently for what this author writes next.
Recommended to readers who like holiday stories and women’s fiction.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this title. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely loved this. This book had all the feels! I laughed and I cried and I couldn’t put it down. I love how much Imogen grows in this book. I like that Tina wasn’t the focus of the book. Great for getting you into the Christmas mood.
Merry Bookmas! I adored this book and sped through it. I don't know what it is about Sarah Morgan's writing that is completely unputdownable but this novel had me feeling like I was in the Costwolds cozied up with this book and a mug of mulled wine. The family drama in this book was quite messy and entertaining and kept me reading all the way up until Christmas Day in the book. For me this book ended a bit too soon and I felt that ending was a bit rushed, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. So far this is my favorite festive read I have read this year!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A beautiful holiday story about family, loss, and finding where you belong. One of those books I wish I could read again for the first time.
If I could be one of the gajillion Christmas trees in this book to soak in all the glorious Christmassy vibes... The Holiday Cottage was an idyllic Christmas read with many meaningful moments focusing on the healing power of choice--the choice to choose family, love, vulnerability, forgiveness, acceptance, and moving forward! I need my own holiday cottage stat!
My Second Book by Sarah Morgan and it did not disappoint! A family drama centered around Christmas time. The story centers around Imogen and her struggles in her personal life and her horrible mother. She escapes to a holiday cottage where she is able to discover how to be true to herself as well as discovering those close to her are more than she imagined.

I enjoyed this book, it felt like a warm cozy Hallmark holiday movie!
It was somewhat predictable, but I love a good happy ending!
