Thank you, Netgalley, for allowing me to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.
Anytime a classroom project can help bring joy to a stranger, I'm all for it. That is a lovely idea and an even more lovely message.
I have already spoken to friends about it.
This book has me inspired to do this project on my own or even with my team at work even though we’re not kiddos. This project is so uplifting and I love that a book was written about it with pictures of the kids’ posters as well as some background on the groups/classes that did them. Very cool!
You Are Amazing Like a Rocket is a small sampling of posters received for the project called peptoc, which is also a hotline.
The young from several parts of the globe participated in this project and sent in beautiful, life-affirming posters on various topics.
The book contains information, photos of the activities, posters and interviews with the project leads.
Extremely positive.
A collection of uplifting messages from kids and young people all around the world. This is a great project, one wherein I hope could spread to different corners of the world.
I love the posters at the start of the book, and how it then goes into more about different countries and how they have made projects to make people feel better and remember their worth. I love how the youth have been so involved in this book and i feel like it will help alot of people struggling.
Thank you for this book!
This book was delightful and radiated joy on every page. At its core, it encourages readers to spread kindness, love, and acceptance. The book showcases art work from a 2020 project, “Peptoc,” where elementary and even some older students created art and signs to spread encouragement and joy in their communities. This book also includes resources for how to organize your own Peptoc campaign. This book is great for educators, students, and anyone who might benefit from a “Peptoc.”
Thanks to #NetGalley and #AndrewsMcMeel for the opportunity to review an advanced reader copy.
Absolutely adorable, divinely inspiring!
We've all had one of those days. A day where we need a comforting pick me up, a warm hug and friendly smile.
This book is the new project of the creators of Peptoc, the now-viral hotline that provides inspirational pre-recorded messages from children.
This new project features 50 motivational posters, hung around the world, all illustrated and handwritten by children in their native tongue.
Beautiful.
This book is like a warm hug and I don't ever want to let go. Such a sweet idea that is executed perfectly.
When you open this book you step in a collection of uplifting and encouraging messages of children around the world.
What words can you say to someone who is feeling down, sad or angry? The makers of this book proposed this question to their students. Out of that question the Peptoc movement was born.
You are amazing like a rocket! Is a collection of posters made by children around the world. Each spread has a photo of a poster beaming through a hopeful message.
The messages in this book are honest, vulnerable and heartwarming. This book is an excellent one to browse through again and again on tough days. It’s like a tiny museum of hope.
There’s some information about the movement and you’re invited to join the Peptoc movement yourself (and with your local community).
A gem of friendly activism.
Thanks a lot to the makers of this book and to NetGalley for providing an e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is so sweet! I legit cried reading some of the posters <3 this book, the project, and the children and teachers behind it, are so full of love and light. I wish them the very best. Thank you for the lovely messages, they are much needed!
We are human, not flowers that have to be in bloom all the time.
What is something you could do or say to help someone who is having a hard day? This is the start of the organization Peptoc, which originated in USA but now involves countries from all over the world. This book is full of inspirational posters from people between the ages of 6 and 21, from different experiences and cultures.
Thank you for the EArc NetGalley and Andrews McMeel. Who doesn’t need a pick me up now and then and where better to get advice then from the innocent? This book is such a beautiful reminder of why we should listen to our youth. They have such a pure, no nonsense take on life and it is so refreshing. If ever you are having a bad day and just need a gentle reminder of how wonderful you are or that things will be ok this book and it’s call in number are for you. Pick it up, read it, keep it by your side and share the knowledge within.
This is such a cute collection! I had heard of the phone hotline but didn't know about the poster movement. Can't wait to purchase this for our library!
An inspiring and uplifting project that has so many possibilities for folks who work with kids, youth, teens, group projects and community projects.
This book is a great reminder that goodness exists in the world, whether you need the reminder for yourself or want to create that reminder for others.
The formatting is all off. I’m sure that’s not the intention but it does make it difficult to see what the final project might look like—especially with a book like this. Would make a cute child’s display book for a shelf or a desk.
An interesting little book, featuring photos of posters designed by children with positive messages. Would be nice for a coffee table but doesn’t necessarily work in ebook format.
This was a sweet idea but I don't think it worked in execution unfortunately. It's very possible that it's because it's an eARC but the formatting really didn't work well and I think I was expecting something more than just photos of posters with a caption
This is an excellent coffee table book for when you need a pep talk. My favorite poster is the pink one encouraging you to take a break.
I found this really inspiring because kids from around the world opened their hearts to send positive messages out into the world. There were different levels of skill and different designs because the kids were every age, which made it even sweeter. I don't know how you someone could read this without smiling.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
The book and art work were cute. But, if I wasn't suggesting participating in the movement itself, I don't think I would get much worth out of the book. I like the perspectives from around the world but I don't see it at as easy sell in the book store.
