It was a fun ride, with lots of flavours. Setting in the world of Michelin stars chefs and restaurants, it was a easy and fast reading thriller. The plot twist is really good.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc.
Oh wow! This is my first ever ARC and I'm absolutely blown away! Leah's writing drew me into the story instantly - it was like it was being acted out right before my eye! Having worked in hospitality, the setting was realistic. The characters were developed naturally, nothing felt rushed. And the twists that happened throughout - I didn't predict them at all. I couldn't stop myself from reading this in one sitting! I'll definitely be recommending this one to everyone!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars!
The beginning of this book was fairly slow moving for me but once I got into it it ended up being a quick read.
Sadie is on parole while working at a diner. Her dream is to one day be able to open a restaurant of her own. When she gets the opportunity to work at a Michelin star restaurant things seem too good to be true. She soon finds out maybe she isn’t the only one keeping secrets.
Get ready for twists right until the very end. The split POV part way through helped to build background on the multiple characters within the story.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher I had the opportunity to read One Last Bite by Leah Cupps as my first ARC.
Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read One Last Bite. What a wonderful story line. Tons of twists and turns until the very end. Will recommend this book to everyone!
Driven by her own demons, chef Sadie Jackson doesn't ask too many questions when she has the opportunity to work with two senior chefs she really admires, Nora and Devon. So what if she has to wash a few dishes to have this job with them?
But between Nora's bruises and the couple's secretive behaviour, Sadie begins to realise that this pair are not the people she thought they were. Which of course begs the question of who they actually are...
An absorbing read, this is a twist-packed thriller that foodies will devour.
WOW!
I had the opportunity to read this Kindle ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Inkubator Books.
This thriller by Leah Cupps is an absolute sleeper. When released on April 28th, I recommend all Freida McFadden and Riley Sager fans pick this up immediately.
Read in one day, because I simply could not put it down. This is the story of Chef Sadie Jackson, recently "reformed" and trying to start over in culinary world. Happy to take whatever she can, she accepts a position at a rural, high end restaurant, which seems too good to be true... and it just might be.
The owners have some suspicious activity and gossip floating around them, and maybe, Sadie isn't the the only one with a shady past?
What I Loved:
Fast paced
Twists and twists and twists
What I wasn't prepared for:
A quick change in POV half way through the book, it shook me and I felt it stalled me. But then no- this explained a ton of back story, go with it
This book is the perfect read for a foodie! Set in the back of house of a Michelin starred restaurant, you get an up close look at the drama that often takes place in the kitchen. The story keeps you guessing as you learn more about Avery's past and start to piece together what will happen next. Add this to your TBR list if you're looking for suspense with a twist at the end!
Sadie is trying to advance her career as a chef and takes a job at a fancy restaurant. This is the owners second restaurant as their first one was completely destroyed in a fire. Her new bosses, Norah (very controlling) and Devon ( very irresistible) seem to be hiding secrets.
This is fast paced and suspenseful with a twist and a good ending.
I didn’t see that twist and loved it! This story was so good from the start to the end, I loved it all. The women in this were so strong at the end and it really showed growth for Sadie.
This book kept surprising me. Every time I thought I had things figured out, something else happened and made me reconsider everything. At one point I grew a bit frustrated with the protagonist's choices, but I was happy with how things turned out and all in all it was an enjoyable read.
One Last Bite by Leah Cupps ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 I recommend this if you love fast paced, split timeline mysteries
🤔 I saw this book come up on NetGalley and immediately loved the cover, and after reading the description I knew I had to read this!!
📖 Sadie is on parole from prison and has been dreaming of owning her own restaurant. Wanting to escape working at a run down diner, she accepts a job at a luxury rural restaurant, with hopes of being able to grow her culinary skillset. But the job isn't what she initially hoped, as she starts to overhear conversations Sadie has her own secrets to hide too... Will she get her chance to run her own restaurant or become wrapped up in something more sinister?
💭 I absolutely loved the plot twist in this! It was unexpected but definitely added to the storyline! The ending was great too.
I was initially disappointed with the change in pov halfway through the book, as I felt Sadie was close to making a big discovery, but it does explain a lot of the back story and loose ends for some other characters!

Recommended to fans of thrillers and especially Freida McFadden.
I’ll be honest I didn’t like this book. I thought it was odd and not very interesting, which disappointed me because I was thinking it would be interesting.
