This book was very enjoyable. The characters were so well built and I really wanted to know what happened to all of them. Although a little slower paced than I am used to reading it was still full of twists and turns that I didn't see coming. It is definitely one I would recommend to friends and family.

Tami Hoag is back! It seems like I have been waiting forever for a new Tami Hoag novel and Bad Liar does not disappoint! I have been a Tami Hoag fan since I first read Dark Paradise back in the 90’s! This is the third book in the Nick and Annie series and can be read as a standalone. I will admit the first chapter started out slow as I tried to determine the storyline, but boy did it take off from there! I absolutely loved this one and it will keep you guessing until the very end! So glad to read one of my favorites again! I've enjoyed Tami Hoag's books for a long time. I felt Bad Liar was thrilling, but unfortunately lacked the suspense that I have seen in her previous books. The main characters are part of a long standing series and they didn't disappoint. The supporting characters however, were not very developed, with the exception of a grieving mother. All in all, I enjoyed this book, just not as much as some of her books in the past.

I have not read Tami Hoag in awhile but I don’t know why because she is a great psychological thriller author this book was fantastic just when you think you have it she adds a twist and another

I have been watching and waiting for this book and it was worth the wait. Because it had been quite awhile since I had read The Boy I went back and reread it. I was glad I did because this book occurs soon after the ending of The Boy. A murder victim is found dumped on a lonely road and Annie and Nick are on the case. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for more.

Tami Hoag has been my favorite author since I read Night Sins. I’ve since read all of her books and was so happy she had a new one out after several years. This book is a part of her bayou series with detectives Nick and Annie. We first met them in A thing Dark Line and The Boy but they can be read as stand alone. The story begins with a dead body and a mother searching for their missing son. Is it the same person? She does a great job weaving together both plots with a fast paced ending. Highly recommend for fans of thrillers and detective stories.

Bad Liar is the latest thriller by the amazing storyteller Tami Hoag. This whodoneit is set in Louisiana, where sheriff’s detective Annie Broussard returns to work after healing from a horrific on-the-job incident. Instead of counting paper clips, like her husband, Sheriff Nick Fourcade has tasked her with doing, Annie gets pulled into a missing adult child report by a completely distraught mother.

Nick, at the same time, must solve the question of whose body, that had a shotgun hole where its face used to be, was found at the end of a road in the middle of nowhere. Could they be the same person?

So many questions and possible solutions made this book impossible to put down! I loved it!

Years ago I came upon Tami Hoag and devoured every book of hers, so I was beyond excited to see she had a new book out! Her new book, Bad Liar, focuses on a husband and wife detective, Nick and Annie, who's department discovers a dead body. Upon trying to identify the victim they come across two missing cases. The two missing men knew each other back in high school when they both were quarterbacks for the same team. Now they couldn't be more different, Robbie a recovering addict after a devastating sports injury, and Marc a town favorite and momma's boy. Whose body is this and could the two disappearances be related?

Tami Hoag is an amazing storyteller and her writing did not disappoint. She was able to weave in multiple story lines and tie them all together in the end for a satisfying conclusion. She kept me hooked until the end and really made you feel for the characters!

Tami Hoag delivers again! Bad Liar has the reader rapidly page turning until the story’s end. Nick and Annie are great together and individually as they attempt to solve a twisted murder case while negotiating the pitfalls of working so closely together while raising their young son. The Cajun euphemisms add authenticity and make me long for another visit to New Orleans. A must read for the murder mystery lover! Great Book! I really love the way Tami tells two stories that always end up converging. I'll read anything she writes with this cast of characters.

I haven't read a Tami Hoag novel in many years, but I have come to realize just how much I have been missing out on her incredible storytelling. Detectives Nick Fourcade and Annie Broussard are depicted as exceptionally well-crafted and resilient characters, drawing readers into their world effortlessly. The narrative is filled with an exhilarating pace, keeping readers on their toes with its abundance of action. From the discovery of an unidentified corpse to the mysterious disappearance of two individuals, the plot twists and turns in captivating ways. I am eagerly anticipating Tami Hoag's next literary masterpiece.

I remember reading Tami Hoag many years ago, so I was happy to get this ARC (thanks NetGalley!). She is a very good writer with detailed similes and creative writer throughout! A dead body, 2 people missing, convoluted mysteries. This was a bit of a slow burn yet held my interest throughout. I enjoyed this police procedural and the interactions among all of the colorful characters. There was a little bit of romance but it was very subtle. I actually felt these characters sorrows which is not an easy task especially given the number of books I read each year! I recommend it especially if you like police procedurals!

I had a hard time getting involved in this story, but eventually started to get invested in what would happen. Bad Liar is a small-town mystery story.

Bad Liar had good characters and a well-developed plot. Overall, it is a solid mystery. It wasn't my favorite of Tami Hoag's books, but it did finally hold my interest, and the story was unraveled with good scenes and interesting characters.

I would give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars (rounded to 4).

I enjoyed this book. It held my interest. It was the first time reading anything by this author. I will definitely look for more by her.

Tami Hoag has been one of my favorite authors since I first picked up Night Sins some twenty or so years ago. I loved it so much I went back and read all of her previous books and have read everything new since. Imagine how thrilled I was to receive an ARC of her newest story, Bad Liar! I screamed in excitement! This one was definitely worth the 4 year wait! The thing Tami does so well is weave great atmosphere and characterization with fast moving plotlines. The setting is a small Louisiana town named Bayou Breaux. It's very easy to get the picture in your head with her descriptions. All of her colorful characters have some sort of voice and a unique identity. In this case we have several people who have grown up in this town and either did not amount to what they had hoped or were made to move there and felt trapped. You really feel the despair and disappointment coming off them. She brings back Detectives Nick Fourcade and Annie Broussard, a married couple who have been in several other books. These are great characters, like old friends. They are searching for two missing men and have one unidentifiable body. I loved the police banter and back and forth between the crew. All in all, another definite winner to satisfy the long wait! Hopefully not so long in between this and the next one! I for one, cannot wait!!

Super quick read. I didn't know how far along I was and then was sad that the story was wrapping up. Although not as sad as the story ultimately turned out to be. Very layered and the folks the story revolved around were so young, it hurt. I hadn't read others in the series and the previous one is referred to a bit in regards to Annie; this doesn't detract from the book at all. It just was clear that the author was hoping to get new readers to go back out of interest since it was only alluded to what happened. But overall a good (if depressing) thriller/mystery.

Excellent, twisted whoodunit! So many curve balls! Marc's mother is such a nuisance! And you really feel for B'Lynne. Love the Cajun Louisiana flavor. Bittersweet ending, but such is life. Very good read!

Thank you for the opportunity to preview Bad Liar. It’s been awhile since I read a Tami Hoag novel. I am sorry about this because she’s a great author.
This is a series book but I caught on quick with this fast paced book filled with two detectives and a colorful cast of characters. It’s hard to differentiate between the villains and good guys and that’s what makes this a smart book.
A murder sets off a series of events and a great who done it will keep you reading till the last page.
