A delightful “feel good” romance. I loved the characters.
Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I absolutely *loved* Shannon Richard's "Undone!" A great female lead, a swoony romantic hero, an immediately likeable group of friends, and heaps of Souther charm – for good and for ill – made this a fantastic read and wonderful intro to a series.

I felt the couple lacked chemistry and sadly the story line did not hold my interest, The heroine, Paige, grated on my nerves. Brendan, by far, was my favorite character.
I just loved this book! I have had this book for years but failed to take the time to read it until now and I must that I am a little mad at myself for not picking it up sooner. Once I started reading this story, I was hooked and did not want to put it down and found myself reaching for it every chance I had. I am so glad that I finally decided to give this one a try.
Things have not been going great for Paige. She has lost her job, her apartment, and her boyfriend in short order. As a result, she was forced to move back in with her parents who now live in the small town of Mirabelle, Florida. It has not been an easy transition and she feels like most of the town is against her. Her vehicle breaks down after a horrible interview and the town's handsome mechanic comes to her rescue.
Brendan has lived in Mirabelle all of his life and knows how hard some of the residents can be on new residents like Paige. He hasn't had things easy in his life but he has a great support system including his grandparents, his sister, and a great group of friends. He decides to help Paige out just a bit and he also plans to spend a little more time getting to know her.
I really liked Paige and Brendan. I thought that both of these characters felt very real, like someone I wouldn't be surprised to meet. They were fun together and I loved the chemistry between the pair. This was a pretty low drama story for much of the book and I really enjoyed just spending time with these two as they fell in love. There is some excitement before the book is over but I must say that I liked the parts of the book that just focused on these two getting to know each other. Paige and Brendan were not perfect and they made some mistakes but I think that helped them to feel more authentic. The secondary characters were very well developed and I appreciated what they brought to the story.
I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. I thought that this was a really well-done romance filled with wonderful characters and a lot of sparks. I would not hesitate to read more of this author's work in the future.
I received a digital review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley.
I wasn't really liking Paige to begin with. I felt she was just sort of bitchy and whiny like a brat but she grew on me and I so adored the relationship that ensued between her and Brendan! Brendan was just so swoon worthy. As much as I enjoyed the story though it is a trope that has pretty much been played out so many times that it's not really all that exciting anymore.
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Paige's life is...rough right now. She's homeless, workless, and boyfriendless all in a matter of a few months. So when she moves in with her parents, in a small Florida town, she's just trying to survive. Then when her car breaks down after a terrible job interview, life is just laughing in her face. With no job, she has no money to fix her car, and without her car she can't find a job. Just when she was giving up on life, Brendan popped into hers. At first, it was a bit of a rocky introduction, but soon they were both always wanting to spend time with each other.
Life has it's rough spots and it's amazing events, and the reader gets to see this with Paige and Brendan's story as they meet and fall in love.
This was a good novel. I really enjoyed how real it was and how it depicts life for any normal person. I really felt for Paige and Brendan and the rough times they have had in their past. The attraction between the two was hot right from the start and it never really slowed down after that. In the middle was a bit of a lull for the story, but it picks right back up toward the end of the book.
I'm also very intrigued about Gracie and Jax... Perhaps I'll have to find their book to see how that all panned out between the two of them!
Overall I'm glad I got a chance to read this eARC and I will have to keep my eye out for more books by this author! :)
This book started off pretty good for me, Paige doesn't have a job, moves in with her boyfriend but they break up then she has to move to a new town with her parents where nobody likes her. I think it's too much drama and it's not necessary. It didn't make me feel for the main character or sympathize with her. I didn't connect with any of the characters in this story and I kind of lost the plot a few times and that caused me to not finish this book, I left it at 83%. I did love that Paige was different from everyone in the new town but it also made her stand out too much and cause them to dislike her. Although with these people in town I feel like no matter what they weren't going to like her and just because she was new that was reason enough for them. I also thought that there were too many sex scenes and the book was just too long.
Spoiler section:
I feel like the plot in this book was lacking. First Paige was coming home to her parents because she had nowhere else to go, then she meets Brendan and they start dating, but after that what else is there to add to the story that might interest me? I thought. And that was at 70% ish. So I continued on and I wasn't impressed, the characters weren't particularly interesting. I think the story should have ended with the couple marrying in the end and I would have given this book 3 stars, but there was so much more to be read and none of it seemed necessary for me. The character Chad was only written to taunt and to intimidate Paige and to cause conflict, he was not necessary. Also Paige's father gets cancer, I don't understand the point of that plot point either, I already wasn't attached to the characters and this just annoyed me.
I really dislike giving negative reviews but this story wasn't captivating enough for me to stay engaged. i found too many things going wrong and I feel like it was too long and it just wasn't for me.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

This was cute small town romance that will make your heart hurt. I did not like the gossipy busybodies that were just rude and annoying to everyone they didn’t feel belonged in their small town. I understood Paige and her feisty personality and that poor woman was getting so bullied by the town, but she quickly found some great allies. Brendan was so swoon worthy right from the beginning and his family was very sweet.
There were many things that happened to our couple but they don’t give up. The whole Trevor twist hurt my heart and I couldn’t believe it.
I can wait to read about Jax and Grace, Brendan’s little sister.
Spoilers:
I absolutely hated Chad, Missy, Delta Forns, Bethelda, and Verna, they were terrible people. I’m surprised they got away with everything they did to Paige and other people. The Chad situation was awful and I didn’t like that he sexually assault Paige and threatened and there were NO consequences.
A contemporary novel with all the items that many women want:
*A troubled heroine who needs to return to live with her parents (or return to the little town she vowed never to return to);
*Insta-love;
*An alpha hero who takes care of the woman he loves - and that means REALLY taking care.
When you put these items on a plot, the story can work... or goes very wrong.
In the case of this book here there are errors and hits.
Brendan King is a man who does not hesitate to roll up his sleeves to work or protect who he loves. But he is also a human, and that means he can - and has the right - to make a mistake. Nobody said that because he was an alpha male he had to be perfect.
So when he takes some attitudes for being hotheaded, the character seems to lose 10 ranking points. But, hey! Paige let him take care of her life, didn't she?
I liked his character much more than hers; he was authentic, with his faults and imperfections.

I Will not be reviewing this book, it no longer holds my interest.
In one word, wow by Shannon Richard. Right of the first page I fell in love with Brendan King. Beware ladies this is not your average hot mechanic. Brendan is everything Paige has been looking for when it comes to love. This also scares her for the feelings she has for this guy. Shannon Richard created these two characters that are so in tune with each other the chemistry between them is hotter than ever. I loved that Brendan is kind, gentle and definitely a true romantic which made this reader fall in love with Shannon’s book. Definitely highly recommended and can’t wait for more of the Country Roads series especially if the men are like Brendan King.
I truly enjoy this book, it kept me reading till the end. I would certainly be reading more of this amazing author. I suggest you read it, you will certainly won’t be disappointed. I read the summary and got very interested. Thank you for the opportunity I will look forward for more from this author.
