The hospital is a psychological thriller that draws you in from page one as Emma tries to remember how she was attacked and landed herself in the hospital. As she struggles with her memory, paralysis, and blindness she is left wondering if she will ever recover or remember what happened that night. The Hospital takes you on twists and turns that have Emma wondering what is a real memory and what is not. An easy read, you will find yourself turning page after page as you help her get to the bottom of this mystery
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review this book.
I love anything set in a hospital where someone has memory loss.
This is very much a "whodunit" book, I'd call it suspenseful but not quite a thriller.
Personally I didn't work out who did do it right up until the reveal.
I would say the start was promising as was the ending however the middle was a tad repetitive and drawn out. For that reason I'm going with 3 stars.
The Hospital by Leslie Wolfe was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read.
Emma has no recollection of the accident that landed her in the hospital. All she remembers is being attacked. She begins to suspect every one in her life could be her attacker and must get to the bottom of the truth before her attacker returns.
I absolutely loved this edge of your seat thriller.
The Hospital is where Emma wakes up after being the victim of an attack. She has amnesia but does know she was hurt. Her memories come back to her bit by bit but they don't always match what the people in her life are saying.
When she goes back to find her husband she learns they have been divorced for three years.
Her life seems in a downward spiral.
The book is full of twists and turns and I really liked the character of Emma. The book pulled me in early and held my rapid attention until the end
I received the Hospital from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, thank you for the opportunity!
I absolutely adore Leslie Wolfe’s writing style and have thoroughly enjoyed her previous work so I was really excited to have the opportunity to read this one. It was absolutely riveting and so hard to put down.
I felt like the terror and confusion of Emma was so raw and real, it was almost frustrating to read her perspective of being blind and stuck in a hospital bed. Following along with her as she regained memory slowly was fun and kept me guessing at where the story was going.
I wasn’t expecting the twist, it was completely out of left field but tied everything up SO nicely. I can’t say enough good things about this one!
What a captivating plot, the emotions, the characters were so real. Couldn't turn pages fast enough to know the ending. Well written and I recommend Given arc by Net Galley and Bookouture for my voluntary review
It was pretty good. It keeps you guessing but does get a little slow. I have read books by this author before and once again she does not disappoint.
I quite enjoyed this book , it had plenty of tension but half way through it was getting a bit slow . I just wanted to know what was going on . It didn’t have many surprises when it got to the end and it was overall a bit disappointing for me . I would still recommend this book but didn’t think it was one of her best books .
This is the second book I have read by this author, and it was just as riveting as the first. I read it in two sittings because I wanted to know the who, what, and why. While one part (the who) was predictable, I started to question every character throughout. The conclusion was perfect! If you like thrillers, read this book.
Fast paced, edge of your seat thriller. What happens when you wake up blind with no memory of what happened to you?
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This book was insane. I love medical thrillers so much, which is no surprise coming from a huge Grey’s fan. This book was so intense. It really had me so baffled. I had NO idea who did it, or what was going to happen next. The ending was so crazy; it all seemed so real. This book taught me; TRUST NO ONE. not everyone is who you think they are. So twisty, and it had me thinking the assailant and stalker were two different people, thinking the stalker was a good person.
Overall, a fantastic read. The plot was good, though a bit unrealistic, (which is why it’s called fiction, right?) and good characters (protagonists anyway) and such good action and twists. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.
An excellent page-turner with Emma, the main character, who wakes up at the hospital after an accident. Pace is great and I enjoyed the twists and turns.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc
Another amazing thriller from Leslie Wolfe! Emma wakes up in a hospital, knowing someone tried to kill her, but no clue who. She can’t see. Her memories slowly come back and she remembers her husband. But when he visits he says they divorced three years ago and he’s engaged now. She’s afraid to trust anyone. Will she get her memory back? Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc.
This novel had the potential to be great but for me it just didn’t cut it. The first half was extremely slow then the last quarter of the book was a mile a minute. I was expecting a gripping psychological thriller, leaving me on tented hooks but it just didn’t deliver. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
From the no.1 bestselling author of The Surgeon, a completely gripping thriller that will have you glued to the pages and leave your jaw on the floor at each mind-blowing twist. Fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell and Shari Lapena won’t be able to put it down!
When Emma wakes up after a brutal attack, she can’t see and she can’t move. She also can’t remember anything but her name. She comes to the realization that she’s in the hospital, but can only use her auditory skills to solve the mystery of how and why she is there. Who can she trust? Why did someone try to kill her?
With the twists and pulsating drama, you’ll be reading this one late into the night. I highly recommend this one, though with a few trigger warnings (abuse, stalking, traumatic brain injury).
Emma wakes up in the hospital with no vision and no memory and is unable to move so much as her fingers. She is told she has suffered a traumatic brain injury, and her only memory is of being attacked. Lost in her thoughts with only the guidance of the voices from her doctors and nurses, she has no choice but to trust them. But something is nagging at the edges of her memory and telling her she is not safe and to trust no one.
This was a slow-burn mystery where the reader is learning of the protagonist's past right alongside her. We delve into the mind of Emma, her memories coming and going, and trapped with her in the dark in the present. Everyone seems suspicious, and we are left wondering what is real and what is not. This was written seamlessly, the tension and paranoia bulding up the more we learned. This author has a talent for creating a hard-to-put-down read, each chapter ending with either suspense or lingering questions. Although I wasn't crazy about the need to suspend disbelief for the ending, I still really enjoyed this one. Four stars.
Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture, for this ARC.
Rounded up to 3.75 ⭐️
I typically love everything by Leslie Wolfe, but this book was difficult to get into. I figured out the villain early on, although not fully as revealed in the end. There was too much jumping around and too many false leads. I think the plot was crafty and in the end worth reading for those who love a good thriller, albeit slow-paced.. To me this would make a better movie..
Thanks to Net Galley and boukouture publishers for this advanced reader’s copy.
Leslie Wolfe is quickly becoming an auto read author for me. I absolutely love all of the medical thrillers. This one was fast paced, and kept me gripped until the end. I’ve seen people say in their reviews that the timelines were a bit confusing because it wasn’t always clear it was a memory, but that’s kind of the point. The man character has a brain injury. She wasn’t even sure if things were real or memories. It wasn’t confusing at all to me. Very well written and the twist at the end was omg! 😳
A solid 4.5 stars raised to a 5. Emma is an actress who has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. She is kept medicated, appears to be blinded from the injury and, although being well cared for, is terrified. She and her former husband had shared a house in Tahoe that she kept in the divorce. His current girlfriend/fiancée wants this house because it was where their first sexual encounter took place (in Emma’s bed) and will push him into doing most anything to keep her happy. It is a psychological thriller that generally keeps you guessing along with Emma. Nothing is as it appears. My only “complaint” is that I actually figured out the perpetrator quite early in the book…and it didn’t ruin the story. Thanks to Net Galley and Bookoutre for an ARC for an honest review.
This was a quick and easy read even though I have to admit that it took me a couple chapters to fully get into the story but once I did I couldn’t put it down.
This slow mystery with its dual POVs between Emma and her stalker kept me at the edge of my seat while Emma was trying to get her memory back and figure out who wanted to hurt her. I figured out who the stalker was but I didn’t see the twist that explains why coming.
3.75 stars.*
