I always enjoy a book with a great twist or two. This was an entertaining read. This is my second book by AJ Campbell and I will now have to read the other books.
Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
3.5 rounded to 4 stars
The story grabbed me from the beginning, but it didn't hold my attention as much as I hoped. Parts of the story dragged on a bit and I was left with a couple of unanswered questions. Drinking and knuckle biting were a daily occurrence for poor Christina. The edge-of-your-seat mystery was there all throughout and I definitely didn't see the ending coming. Overall, I enjoyed the story.
Thank you to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for an advanced copy for an honest review.
This one was really good! I was hooked just from the title! Seriously though- this book had me hooked from the beginning! I had a very hard time putting this book down! 4 stars
Christina and Michael have been having some marital issues. Michael sleeping downstairs on the couch and Christina waiting for him to warm up the bed. After a night out with her twin brother. Christina is driving in horrible wind and rain. The car slams into something, she gets out to see what. The rain made it impossible to see. It had to have been an animal, she convinces herself as she gets back into the car and heads for home. Hours later the police arrived at her door, her husband has been found lying in the road. Left by a hit and run driver. Will Michael make it?
Did I Kill My Husband? by AJ Campbell is a suspense-filled thriller book and full of twists that almost leave you breathless. The short chapters also add to the fast pace. I enjoyed reading this. Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a good psychological thriller, it’s a page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has plenty of suspenseful twists and turns throughout with a brilliant unexpected ending. The characters were great and the style of writing was perfect.
I have read other books by this author before and I must say I enjoyed them all. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading this genre.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.
An excellent, fast-paced book full of lies, chills and confusion. The premise of driving home in foul weather and hitting what you think is an animal, but turns out to be your husband, is brilliant. It sets the scene for a gripping, twisty thriller full of well-developed characters, some sympathetic, others hateful. AJ Campbell is a fabulous writer, and this book is up there with her very best. Thoroughly recommend!
This story had me gripped from the very first page! Twists and turns throughout and an ending I didn’t see coming at all!
Im glad to have discovered this new to me author. Lots of lies and secrets that will have you guessing. Love the unpredictable nature of this book and thats what made the book for me.
My favorite type of thrillers are ones wheee my heart will pound and this one for sure had my heart pounding.
Did I Kill My Husband pulled me in from the very beginning! I had a feeling what might be happening but boy was I wrong. The twist and turns the book had kept me on my toes. I love how the Author gave you small crumbs that you thought you had figured out.
At times Christina's character would drive me crazy on her thoughts but in the end it made sense to me.
Normally, I am all over any AJ Campbell book due to the quick pace and plot twists, but unfortunately, this was not my favorite book. It took forever to get into the book and relate to the characters. About 2/3 of the way into this book, it picked up. The ending made up for the slow pace. I did not see that ending coming and was completely shocked! Overall, it was a short read and a great ending.

**REVIEW**
Once again AJ produces a cracking thriller of a read; you’re drawn straight into the drama from the start, everything is set up for you and you can just relax and enjoy the ride.
AJ a master at presenting a simple thriller and surprising you with a complex plot. The characters were believable, complex and it was easy to make an emotional connection to them. Although I did work out the ending it was no less of a joy to see it through to the end.
With thanks to author #ajcampbell and #bookoture for allowing me to read this one and to be on the book tour!

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this ARC from Bookouture.
Clearly the title sets the scene, however there is a lot more to it and definitely enough to have made me question what I really thought had happened.
My favourite quote:
"She's drowning in a river of guilt with no lifebuoy in sight."
Thank you to NetGalley, author AJ Campbell and Bookoture publishing for the ARC and opportunity to review this book.
This a page turning suspension read from start to finish. I totally thought I knew how it would end but boy was I wrong.
The author created many twists to keep readers on their toes. The storyline was well done. There was build up throughout the entire book.
The character development was also done well. The main female character Christina is someone many women could relate too in the things that have happened within her life. The main male character Michael is someone I wanted to throw the book at. Ted is a brother we all dream of having in our lives.
This was a solid 4 star read. Highly recommend and will be looking into more books by this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yet again, a fantastic descriptive thriller that will
Keep you on your toes! Just when you think you have this one solved, twists pop up! Highly recommend this one!
Hats off to A.J. Campbell for another twisty thriller! From the beginning I was convinced I knew what the ending would be…WRONG! I never saw the twist coming. You can’t go wrong making this your next read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another great thriller from @ajcampbellauthor
I thought for sure I knew who was up to no good this time. Of course with all of the twist, turns, & secrets, it was a wild ride. I did not see the ending on this one coming!
Christina was betrayed by her 1st husband. She works for the school system and falls in love with her current husband Michael. She has 2 children, Abi & Ben, from her 1st marriage. Life seems perfect, until Michael has an accident. There are so many secrets about what happened the night of Michael's accident. Christina's twin brother Ted is there to help her with whatever she needs. Things are not what they seem.
This author knows how to write domestic thrillers filled with drama and deception. I loved the short chapters and relatively small cast of characters. I was questioning most of them and their motives but there was only one that I 100% knew was not as good as they portrayed. I liked how close Christina was to her brother and how he helped her multiple times. I go into this authors books expecting the unexpected and still end up being surprised in more ways than one.
Thank you @netgalley and Bookouture for the gifted copy
Did I Kill My Husband? by AJ Campbell is my second read from this author and I was certainly not disappointed! A great writing style and thrilling concepts that squizzle through the psyche and rummage around in your soul
Absolutely it is a great read for fans of The Housemaid and in my humble opinion, far exceeds comparison to Freida McFadden, for readability, flow, concepts and character development. Indeed, Campbell is in a class of their own with their thrillers and I for one am here for it and then some!
A story about the perfect marital facade. The Local school teacher and his wife, all smiles in public, but a writhing miasma of secrets and scandal behind closed doors. I was clawed in from page one and held tight by the simply outstanding storyline until the end.
You need to experience this book for yourself, because no amount of review I could give could do this incredible author justice. AJ Campbell has her own genre in psychological thrillers and it is fizzing with electrical energy that will have your heart and mind racing. I cannot wait to see where Campbell takes us next!
Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture and AJ Campbell for this belter of an ARC. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own
