A fast moving, quick changing, well plotted ‘Whodunit’/ ‘DId I do it’? story that started as well as it finished
Christina is not really that happy…….but she wouldn’t want to kill her husband….would she?,as the story goes on it turns out her husband was even less of a good man than she realised as literally daily new secrets come to light….however other characters we meet are equally up to no good…..the problem is who can Christina trust?..
I LOVED how I was convinced on more than one occasion I had this all solved and knew exactly who had done what and was completely wrong….the sign of a great thriller…..it is very cleverly written by this author
It is a very engaging story that once started I pretty much read in one go as there was little option not to as I wanted to know the outcome
A really good story that ticked and more every box for me
4.5 rounded up to a 5
This book will grab you right from the start and not let go. Christina has just left a night out with her twin brother, when she hits an animal with her car... Or is it an animal?
Later, as her husband is in the hospital in a coma, Christina starts finding out that things things in her marriage might not be as they appear.
This book was really well done. There was enough characters to keep you guessing but not enough to be overwhelming. I loved the familial aspect where most of the characters were family members. It is paced very well, and you will find yourself reading 'just one more chapter' until you have finished the book in one sitting.
The ending was a little rushed, and I found myself wanting one final chapter or an epilogue for a final wrap up. Overall, a very gripping read that I will still be processing over the next few days.
Overall I really enjoyed this highly suspenseful psychological thriller about a woman who hits something with her car while driving in a storm and then finds the police at her front door informing her that her husband has been the victim of a hit-and-run. The female main character’s investigation into her husband’s whereabouts the night of the accident, combined with her spiralling guilt gripped me from the very first page.
This is the second bone-chilling thriller I’ve read by AJ Campbell - I also thoroughly enjoyed My Perfect Marriage.
The mind-bending twist at the end had me on the edge of my seat. It took me completely by surprise!
Ultimately I highly recommend this book to any lovers of psychological thrillers like The Housemaid, The Silent Patient or Verity.
4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
I really enjoyed Did I Kill My Husband. It was fast paced and there was never really any lull in the story. She got going with the plot right out from the gate. No slow build up, just bam...I hit my husband with my car. It definitly drew me in and kept me reading. I really wanted to know what happened.
The main character was a little annoying. How many times can you bite your knuckle and she was still super hung up on her ex husband. I wish she'd explored Michael a little more. He seemed like a really bad guy and she just kind of casually threw that in there. I don't want details, considering the KIND of bad guy he seemed to be, but I also felt like I wanted to know a little more.
I really enjoyed Ted. How did he know all these people? lol
I was slightly disappointed with the ending, everything seemed shoved into the last few chapters as it wrapped up, but overall I really did enjoy it. It kept me engaged, I never got bored and I really wanted to know what was going on.

A.J. Campbell knows how to write a thrilling book filled with twists! At the beginning of the book the wife hits something with her car and finds out later it may have been her husband. Her husband is in a coma and she is devastated. The characters are well developed and just when you think you have it figured out, another twist comes!
SPOILERS INCLUDED.
DID I KILL MY HUSBAND is a mystery thriller. Christina is driving home in a downpour when she feels a bump. She gets out in the storm to see what she hit, but doesn't find anything. Later on she is awoke by two police visiting to tell her, Michael is in the hospital. He was found after a driver hit him and left him for dead. The story goes on from there. Did Christina hit him???
Does someone know????
The story has a strong start, then slows down and finally picks up at the end. I didn't really care too much for Christina as she seems to constantly be whinning about her first husband cheating on her. When she was in the outbuilding I was kinda hoping Michael would be the survivor. I did like the character Ted and thought there would be more to him. He has all these friends who can do things and owe him favors. Overall, I found the story drew me in, then was a little boring and picked up. It was a little boring at times and I would lay the book down, then come back to it. From the description, I was thinking I could finish it in one sitting as it is only around 300 pages.
Did I Kill My husband is an amazing, fast paced thriller that I didn't want to put down, I haven't read anything by this author, I'm so excited to read more.
This is the second book that I have read from this author, and it did not disappoint. Did I Kill My Husband is a fast paced thriller that grabs your interest from the very beginning. With so many twists and turns you won't know who to trust and will be on the edge of your seat the ENTIRE time.
Clear out your schedule and get comfortable because you are in for a wild ride. Just when you think that you have it figured out, guess again!!
Another fabulous book from AJ Campbell- the best yet! Fast paced, easy to follow and brilliant storyline. Just when I thought I worked out the ending… there’s another jaw dropping twist! Thrilling plot, truly captivating and real page turner from the very first chapter! I read this in a few hours- loved it!
What a fantastic book. I haven’t read anything by this author before but now I’ll be reading everything they’ve written. A fast paced thriller that had me questioning everything. I couldn’t wait to keep reading this and was disappointed when I had to put it down to go to work. Highly recommend.
A woman driving down a dark road in a downpour hits what she thinks is an animal. She gets out of her car, but can't see anything. When her husband is found to be the victim of a hit and run accident, will the truth come out? Did she hit Michael? Does he truly not remember anything about the accident?
Christina, helped by her brother Ted, try to keep the police at bay while uncovering the truth of Michael's life -- and all the many things he was hiding. An intriguing and captivating read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I loved the authors last book and was quick to request this one! This is definitely a page turner from the start and I found I read this one fairly quickly which is always a good sign. This book is packed with twists that keeps you engaged and intrigued to see what happened next. I'm delighted to have found another new author!
Thanks to netgalley & the publisher for a chance to read and review this book.
An excellent, fast-paced book full of lies, chills and confusion. The premise of driving home in foul weather and hitting what you think is an animal, but turns out to be your husband, is brilliant. It sets the scene for a gripping, twisty thriller full of well-developed characters, some sympathetic, others hateful. AJ Campbell is a fabulous writer, and this book is up there with her very best. Thoroughly recommend!
Thank you to AJ Campbell, Bookouture and Netgalley for my advance copy.
The hook for this book was excellent and it is really well-paced, every chapter advances the plot. The story is really engaging, and I loved all the little clues the author dropped throughout the book, casting suspicion on pretty much every character. Obviously some of them turn out to be red herrings but it means as the reader you never fully trust anyone and makes the ending really hard to guess!
The only thing I would have liked is to have seen a positive side to the husband, Michael. There doesn't seem to be much love (or even like) between him and main character Christina, so it's a bit hard to see why she would have married him in the first place.
Overall this was a very good, fast-paced thriller and I would recommend it.
Received this as an ARC and did not disappoint. A fast paced page turner with a twist I didn't see coming.
What a book! I devoured it in two nights, staying up way past my bedtime, because I couldn't put it down. I suspected everyone of the characters to be guilty, and was of course totally wrong! What a brilliant story! Can't get enough of Amanda's exceptional books!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.
Did I Kill My Husband? was such a ride, with multiple twists and red herrings throughout the book. When Christina’s husband Michael is a victim of a hit and run she’s worried she may have been the driver. The mystery gets a lot more tense, however, when trying to figure out why Michael was even out of the house and when multiple clues point to him having been up to no good.
There were a lot of interesting characters, from Christina’s brother Ted, her kids Abi and Ben, and others I won’t name to avoid giving anything away. I didn’t see the reveal coming at all, nor what happened at the end. Pick this one up if you love thrillers and want to be truly surprised at the end, you won’t guess this one!
Totally binge read this! Absolutely hooked and everytime I was sure I knew I was wrong! Loved it highly recommend
Finished this book in a day. It grabs you from the first chapter and doesn’t let go! Lots of twists and turns keep you guessing! Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Did I kill my husband? I guess you’ll have to read it and figure that out!
Another binge read from AJ Campbell! Oh my goodness, I could not put this down. So many twists and turns, it just had to be read in a day. I suspected everyone expect for those that I should have 😆 I seriously did not see that ending coming and it was brilliant!
Listen to this for a plot…. Christina is driving home at night in horrific weather conditions when she hits something with her car. She gets out but can’t see anything and assumes it was a deer and it has run off. Next thing she knows, the police at her door telling her that her husband has been the victim of a hit and run and is in the hospital 😳 I know right. You just have to read this to see what happens. It is crazy.
Thanks so much to the author and Bookouture for another fantastic read. Did I Kill my Husband is published on May 29th.
