This was a fun story about one of my favorite athletes. I have been a fan of gymnastics since I was a child, and I was a gymnast myself growing up. It was really fun to be able to see similarities between my own experiences growing up and Simone's. I think this is a book any gymnastics fan would enjoy, and it would be a particularly great book for children to read and see that their favorite athletes are just like they are. I think Simone is a fantastic subject to be included in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I think she (through this book) will serve as a great role model for children.
I will never cease to be amazed by Simone Biles. I love these books that make biographies easily readable, with cute illustrations. I think it's a great way to get kids interested in people they can look up to like Simone.
My daughter loves this line of books and I think they're a great way of teaching children about historical figures and their impact on the world. I would recommend to anyone an deveryone
I love the Little People Big Dreams series, and there is no one better to highlight than Simone. It does need updated now to reflect her return to the 2024 Olympics though!
This book was so well written and my daughter loved it. We read it many times and came out at the perfect time during the Olympics. Loved the illustrations also.
This book explores the incredible achievements of Simone Biles in both her personal and professional life. I was pleasantly surprised that the author highlighted Simone's stand for mental health and her place as a role model outside of an Olympic context. This book will be perfect for so many different Storytime themes and a solid classroom choice too! 4 out of 5 stars!
Simone Biles is an up-to-date, relevant individual who is a role model for the younger generation. In the new addition to the Little People, Big Dreams franchise, the reader learns about Simone's childhood and her route to becoming one of the world's most famous female gymnasts. With her recent gold medal wins. Simone is the GOAT.
Nadia Fisher's illustrations are bright and detailed and the text by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is accessible for younger readers.
Could there be a more perfect time to read about Simone Biles than in the wake of the Paris Olympics 2024, where Biles took home more Gold medals and established herself as the gymnast of our era. This book gives the incredible mini biography of the moments that have made this incredible athlete. What an inspiration for young readers. Beautifully illustrated and ther perfect gift for little readers. #simonebiles #littlepeoplebigdreams #netgalley
This book is so fun, especially now in the context of the Parisian Olympic games.
We loved learning more about the talented Simone and enjoyed the illustrations.
Biles is a true inspiration as all of the figures in this series.
Her life story is particularly inspirational and hope-evoking due the difficulties in her earlier family life, and her ADHD.
I loved the versatility, the realism and the diversity in the illustrations. The people were very well illustrated.
The overall art style (the colours and shading) is slightly less interesting to me compared to the art style in other books in this series, except for the dynamic actions, expressions and character design.
As a sensible choice, the reason why Simone Biles calls his grandparents mom and dad, and her struggles are mentioned in the end, the brief bio/timeline section.
We love Simone Biles and this series.
Little people, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara featuring the GOATs Michael Jordan and Simone Biles 🥹
This isn’t my normal reading, but I’m looking for books to buy my best friend’s child for her first birthday and I try to read the options before selecting.
Also, in honor of the Olympics ending soon, and both of these brilliant athletes willing gold medals at the Olympics, I thought these were well timed.
I love these books, but these two specifically are incredible! The illustrations are perfect and the stories are easily accessible for children, even with serious topics. These are the books I wish I would have had as a child!

I love this book about the life of Simone Biles so far. As with others in this series, it is beautifully illustrated and has good words choices for younger readers.
An inspirational read. My daughter loves this series of books and this was another great one. Simone is an inspiration, not only for her hard work ethic but for her acknowledgement of her struggles.
Little People, Big Dreams is one of my favourite series of books and I was so pleased to come across this title featuring Simone Biles! Like the other books in this series, this title tells an inspirational biography. We learn of Simone Biles's childhood, some of the adversity she faced, and how she came to be the gymnast of a generation par excellence. Young readers will appreciate Simone's story of hard work and dedication leading to recognition and achievement. Particularly after her performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic games, I appreciate just how much Simone Biles has dedicated her life to being an amazing gymnast and a mental health advocate as well. I think this book and its story will become a modern classic for young readers for quite some time to come.
Many thanks to Quarto Publishing Group for a complimentary eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
Adorable and inspiring. I adore the "Little People, BIG DREAMS" series. The art is always great and give children as well as adults the opportunity to get to know some absolutely awe inspiring people. I'm happy to see Simone Biles got her own book now. She most certainly deserves it.
This is another lovely illustrated book for kids from the collection 'Little People, Big Dreams'. In this case it is quite topical as Simone Biles is still hoping to get more medals at the Paris Olympics after already achieving the gold medal for the Team and All Around competitions. Hopefully this book will inspire many young athletes to follow their dream as well.

This series circulates well at my library and it's easy to see why. The stories are simple and approachable. The text is limited but covers important details in way that children will be able to relate. Adults like these books because they can learn something too, or share new information about an interesting person with their child. I appreciate the timeliness of this one and the sensitive treatment of Biles's childhood and withdrawal from competition.
We will purchase this book for our library. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
Olympics 2024 - the most successful athletes show that they never give up of their dream to make the best play and performance. One of them is Simone Biles! This is a biography with pictures for better understand that the sport is not easy, but for one child can be everything. This is heroic story for successful young gymnastic, that will inspire young girls and women to get their dreams and taking care for their mental and physical wellbeing.
I received an electronic ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books through NetGalley.
I continue to be impressed with this series by Sanchez Vegara. She pulls readers in to learn about lives and offers inspiration for readers to succeed too. In this book, we see Simone Biles as a young child and follow her journey to becoming one of the top gymnasts in the world. The author does not shy away from her mental health struggles at the Tokyo Olympics nor the bravery to speak up about the abuse within the gymnastic system. Both are handled sensitively and at a level for younger readers. Since the book was published before the 2024 Paris Olympics, it offers readers a chance to do further research on Biles continued career. A definite addition to elementary level libraries.
