Thank you, Net Galley, for the ARC of Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage. We reviewed the 3rd book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series for our podcast. We've been in love with this series from Done and Dusted and have grown in our adoration throughout. This novel finally gets the story of the enemies to lovers between absolute opposites, Gus and Teddy.

What we liked about the book:
- Teddy's connection with her father - it's wonderful and, at times, heartbreaking.
- Amos Ryder is an amazing character
- The love affair between Gus and Teddy is slow and realistic - exactly what would happen in real life.
= Another strong woman finding her way without the help of a male.
- Rock F*&^ing Jasmine.

Honestly, there wasn't much we could find wrong with this novel. Please find more of our reviews on our website: www.chicklitbookclubpodcast.com.

“I couldn’t help but worry that I’d missed my shot at something bigger because I had always been so content with what I had”

- spicy small town romance
- audio: Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor
- best friends brother
- single dad
- dislike to love
- banter

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH! I must once again applaud the author for crafting such nuanced characters with understandable insecurities and tentative hopes. Teddy and Gus had tension that was perfectly balanced with the emotional connection they couldn’t resist no matter how hard they tried. And the audiobook performance was stellar!

This story explores what it’s like for two people, who both feel stagnant in their lives as everyone around them is moving forward, to fall in love. Their lives aren’t bad, but they could be more and neither wants to settle for less than their dreams. Gus aches to find love and grow his family and Teddy craves someone who takes her seriously and builds her up.

They’re so hot together (the spice is spicing). But they’re also sweet too. While being a temporary nanny for Gus’s daughter Riley, they grow closer and realize they’re perfect for each other. Gus wants nothing more than to love Teddy and support her dreams and Teddy loves him and Riley so much that she finds a way to make her dream work with them!

I adore all the character dynamics, the rocky moments in friendships, the banter. But I especially love Teddy’s bond with Riley and how Cam (Riley’s mother) has a healthy coparenting relationship with Gus and there’s no animosity between them. One of my favorite moments was seeing Cam happy for Gus and Teddy and excited for Riley to have another awesome parental figure in her life.

This series has my whole heart and every book is a stunning demonstration of character development that synchronizes flawlessly with relationship development.

I never knew I had a thing for cowboys until I picked up a Lyla Sage book. I really loved this book, it was light hearted and sweet and sausy without being superficial or devoid of complex and emotional experiences. It was amazing to see the MMC be capable and playful single father while also struggling with his very solo role. The banter between the main characters nearly took me out it was so fun and giddy and sexy. Another great hit from the queen of cowboys!

Lost and Lassoed is a fun, romantic story! I enjoyed the characters in this Rebel Blue Ranch story and will definitely be reading the other books in the series. The only reason I gave it 3-stars is that I felt like it all wrapped up a bit too perfectly and some of the dialogue between the main characters felt a bit pushed; but otherwise, this was a fun light read!

Teddy and Gus together are so perfect. I love this series, and every book keeps getting better. Lyla Sage has become an automatic read author for me. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

teddy and gus spoke to my HEART!!! every single book by lyla brings me so much comfort and lost and lassoed is no exception. i’ve always been intrigued by gus and teddy’s dynamic. seeing them beef is funny as heck. but watching their relationship develop into something so much more special was beautiful. teddy is one of my favorite characters from the series. she always keeps it real and isn’t afraid to be vulnerable with the people she loves. and teddy’s relationship with her dad!!! INSTANT TEARS!! they are so special to me <3

I never thought I would stop disliking gus but wow that man sure took a turn for the better. seeing him be all sweet with teddy, his daughter, and all the women in his life warmed my soul!!!

truly such a great addition to the series. I can’t wait to listen on audio and read the next book in the series!!!

I struggled with this one for one reason: the nickname "Teddy Baby" (ew). I had to skip all the sex scenes because I just could not stand to hear Gus say "Teddy Baby" one more time. I also felt like the romance was rushed. I know there is a lot of backstory in the previous books, but if you were to read this as a stand-alone or pick this one up first before the others, the romance wouldn't make as much sense. If you can get past all the silly tropes and cliches, then you'll enjoy it.

Oh. My. Goodness. I've loved all of Lyla Sage's books up until this point, but Lost and Lassoed has to be my favorite of the bunch. Like many other readers, the second I met Teddy and Gus in Done and Dusted, I knew their story would kill me. An enemies to lovers romance with elements of grumpy and sunshine? SLAY ME. And Sage delivered on this one. I felt like we really got a chance to see Gus and Teddy's feelings for each other change, and I loved how good their banter was throughout. The best part, though, was just how soft and tender this book could be. Often it seems like enemies to lovers romances depend on passion and not much else to progress the story, and this one was moved along by their separate emotional growth and increasing respect for each other. I was floored by how much I also continued to care about the family dynamics both of Gus/Cam/Riley and the Ryder family as a whole. So much love all around, and it gave me the warmest feels. I would 1000000% recommend this to anyone needing a sweet (but still scathingly hot) romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this western romance. Went in blind and fell in love with the characters. Both heartwarming and a fun ride. Enjoyed the writing and the story and thus shall read the rest of the series.

Lyla Sage has become one of my favorite contemporary romance writers. The way she writes banter and heart are unmatched.

Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage is my first cowboy romance. I admit I had a pre-conceived notion about the genre, but this sweet little book blew me away. By the end, I felt like I was part of the family and belonged at the beautiful, picturesque Rebel Blue Ranch, a very special place that brings people together. This book had me at first sass! I can’t wait to go back to the Rocky Mountains in the rest of the series.

At its core, Lost and Lassoed is a celebration of fatherhood and family. Lyla Sage can write the heck out of a romance. The pacing and story felt so realistic. It wasn’t insta-love or meet cute. Both Gus and Teddy seem like complete opposites, except their story shows us how much alike they really are. They have both spent their lives caring for others first, instead of themselves. I love their sassy banter and fake enemy dynamic. I’ve never laughed so much. Thanks to little Riley, Gus and Teddy are forced to know each other on a level neither of them could have imagined. The many characters are written so well, and Lyla Sage sure does know how to write a grumpy, scared single dad!

Every word in this book means something, and it’s all tied together with a pretty little bow. The white bra strap, Teddy’s favorite suede jacket, the Jasmine rock flower, dirty laundry all had purpose. Don’t cry Teddy.

The spicy parts of the book are open door and interwoven naturally into the story. Nothing felt out of place and again the scenes were quite realistic.

I’m still reeling from this book! I can’t believe I fell for a cowboy romance just as hard as Gus and Teddy fell for each other!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy, you’ve opened my eyes wide and I can’t wait to read more Lyla Sage!

this book was everything i hoped for and then some. not only was the romance perfect, but being in such a similar stage of life as teddy, i found her personal journey to be so relatable and real. there wasn’t a single page of this book i didn’t love. the development of gus & teddy’s relationship felt so realistic, two people who do so much for others and are fiercely independent, they finally find something so special in each other, someone who sees past the strong facade and prioritizes the other person.

rebel blue ranch continues to be one of the fictional places i’ll always long to visit, but im grateful for the chance to spend time there within the pages of these books. there is a comfort to this series that’s truly inexplicable

I'll be 100% honest, I did not see falling in love with cowboy romances on my 2024 bingo card-but here we are🥰
🤠Here's why I love it:
🤠Enemies to lovers
🤠Single dad
🤠found family
🤠a story of female friendship

"Clementine Ryder and Theodora Andersen are written in the starts. Doesn't get more cosmic than that".

I know this one was "enemies to lovers" and "so hot" and everything (which this one was EVERYTHING, don't get me wrong), but as a 28 year old woman who's not at the same stage in life as many of her friends, this one just hit differently.

Lyla has created this incredible world and these insanely lovable people, but my favs are Teddy and Emmy. What's better than female friendship?

This one really touched my heart. This is a love story for every woman who lives under the pressure of worrying she'll be alone or she'll never be where she wants in life. It's about experiencing the overwhelming joy of seeing your best friend find her partner, but also the grief of being at a different place in life and seeing your friendship evolve into something new.

Now let's talk Gus and Teddy🤭
"If I wanted this thing with Teddy to go anywhere, I'd have to remember that she was built to shine and glow and shimmer, and I couldn't take that piece of her only for myself. She didn't shine just for me. I got a different part of her-the part that was comfortable enough to turn down the brightness when we were alone, the part that wanted me to see past what everyone else was blinded by."

I've been looking forward to Teddy and Gus' story since the beginning. This big gruff and tough "I'll do it myself" COWBOY single dad? I mean COME ON. And the effect Teddy has on him. It's like she can push his buttons anytime and he's ready to go. We in the business call that PASSION people.

✨BEST FOUND FAMILY

Theo & Gus have looong hated each other throughout all the Rebel Blue Ranch books. Gus needs some help with his daughter during the summer, Teddy is out of a job, so what could go wrong when these two are forced together for a couple months?😜

LYLA FREAKIN SAGE. this book was absolutely phenomenal. no notes. infinite stars. utter perfection. alllll the love. I don’t know what you put in this book, but as soon as I started I couldn’t stop. I finished in two sittings, but it probably would’ve been one if it weren’t for grown-up responsibilities. this will always be one of my favorite series and this is now one of my all-time favorite books. GEDDY 4EVER💖

I do not want to imagine a world without Lyla Sage's Blue Rebel series in it because these book are fantastic.
The build up to Teddy and Gus's book started in book one and we all knew that it was going to be off the charts entertaining and romantic and spicy and it was all that and more.

In this book, Lyla was able to take two people who have been 'enemies' for years, and guide them through their journey of finding love with one another in a way that is tender, and soft, and vulnerable, and honest, and steamy.
It seems so right that Gus and Teddy, the two people who feel like they have to hold it altogether for everyone else, learn that with each other, they can let down their guards, revealing secret truths, finding comfort in each other, and understanding one another like no one else does.

Add in Gus's adorable kid, Riley, and it just goes to another level. Gus is such a superb father, and Riley really helps to show his super-soft side to Teddy.

It's also great to catch up with the other characters of Blue Rebel, though that only made me pine even more for Dusty and Cam's story and am so excited to read that one!

I also like that the books are a bit shorter than the average romance, making it a quick read that just hits all the feels in the right way.

Thanks to Dial Press for the eARC; All opinions are my own.

The long awaited arrival of Gus & Teddy was worth every second! Daddy Gus had me swooning & sweating all at once. Teddy was the most relatable FMC I’ve read in a very long time. Lyla perfectly captured the emotions of what it feels like when everyone around you is growing up and moving on and you feel stuck in the same place. It was heartfelt, spicy, and perfectly written.
