This small-town cowboy romance is an absolute delight! Teddy and Gus, with their clashing personalities, deliver a story that’s both heartwarming and steamy. The enemies-to-lovers trope shines through with witty exchanges and sizzling chemistry, all wrapped in a charming, small-town setting. The writing style effortlessly draws you into their world, making every moment of their summer together a must-read. This book captures the magic of romance and the joy of discovering love in unexpected places.
Who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers? It was easy to love this one because Sage absolutely nailed it. Ted and Gus have great chemistry from the start, and their animosity is just as believable as their love. Well done.
Hold on to your hearts—this book is a whirlwind of love, laughter, and steamy moments! The characters are irresistibly charming, and their chemistry will make your pulse race. With witty dialogue and swoon-worthy scenes, this romance is pure magic. Buckle up for a delightful ride through passion and joy. Totally unputdownable! I absolutely blew through this book. Enemies to lovers, no horribly sad third act break up, and Teddy was such a relatable MC. Gus being such a good dad and co-parent made me love him, too. Can’t recommend this book to romance readers enough!!! It’s a must!!!
Did I sacrifice sleep for the this book? Yes, absolutely I did. Was it worth it? 1,000,000%, NO REGRETS, it was perfection. 💚
I’ve always loved characters that have a tougher exterior, but when you crack them open they’re just big ol’ softies on the inside. And Gus and Teddy took that to a whole new level. 🥹😭🥰
I have been waiting for this duo since clocking them in Done and Dusted, and they were everything I could have hoped for and more! Lyla has always taken excellent care of our Rebel Blue babies, and this was no exception. Trust me - Teddy baby and August are WELL cared for (and they take care of each other 😏🔥).
I loved going back to Meadowlark and Rebel Blue Ranch, and I’m over the moon that we get to visit again and that this isn’t the end (it will never be the end for me). 💚
I’ll end with this: I’ve never wanted to live on a ranch more than after reading this book 👨🏻🤠🥵
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for this spectacular ARC!!!
Enemies-to-lovers can be very chancey for me because it often just stresses me out, but this was so cute!!! Even with insults being slung left and right, the chemistry was off the charts and perfectly, perfectly spicy. Teddy's struggles with people moving on with their lives while she's stuck are very relatable.
I hadn't read the first two books in the series before picking this one up and was totally fine. I'm going back and reading the others now!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my thoughts.
Lost and Lassoed is the third book in the Rebel Blue Branch Series and this series is one of my favorite book series. This book was super fast and easy to read, I loved the two main characters Teddy and Gus their banter in this book was a chef's kiss. I love that there wasn't a third-act break-up in this book and they could communicate their issues and be open. I recommend this book to anyone who wants an easy, fast-paced, enemies-to-lover, best friend's brother, single dad trope. The banter in this book was the best part of their relationship in this book, I love how the main characters had good communication with each other and didn't avoid problems and they communicated like adults.
If you ever need a quick fun read, Lyla Sage has your back. I flew right through this in two days, which is a record for me. Teddy and Gus, of course, had the chemistry and fans of their characters from the previous two books in the series will eat this up. So so good, I was giggling and gasping in shock at certain parts. Can’t wait for the next one!
ohhhhh lyla sage!! the woman that you are! i could not have loved this book and gus and teddy more if i tried.
lyla has got the formula for the perfect romance on lock in my eyes! lost and lassoed has a stunning balance of stomach full of butterflies romance and raw, relatable depth. teddy and gus are just the best slightly messy characters with complexities and genuine struggles that makes them just so extremely lovable. and they’re hot!
i just adored my teddy girl, miss poster girl for right where you left me!! her character was such an amazing (and painful) depiction of how it feels to be “stuck” in life while watching everyone you love continue growing. and i just so deeply loved the way lyla hand led those “growing pains” when they started impacting friendships. teddy and emmy are one of my favorite parts of rebel blue and it feels really special to see their friendship continue to grow and change as their stories do too.
and ohhhh gus! the single dad cowboy of my dreams!!! there’s nothing i love more than a grumpy man with a gooey center for his girls and this was just! gorgeous! and i mean the mustache doesn’t hurt!!
the gus and teddy story was one i was so so so super excited for since their hatred (seemingly) ran sooo deep and i had no clue how they would ever end up together and boy did lyla deliver!! getting bits and pieces of their backstory had me fighting the urge to do cartwheels around my house. and watching both of their icy cold exteriors melt for eachother had the butterflies in my tummy working overtime!!
overall, i really really loved this and will be holding this story and my teddy so close to my heart. rebel blue forever and ever!!!!
This was another wonderful addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch series! The romance between Teddy and Gus was so sweet and I loved how much they understood each other once they got over their “hate” for one another. This is becoming one of my favorite romance series. I can’t wait for the next one!
I was so happy that the next book in the series was Teddy and Gus’ story. The chemistry between the two was palpable and was just ready to boil over. I was glad that Lyla went into the backstory of why they hated each other. I wish there would have been more about Teddy’s new job and more with her dad but am aware that there is Cam’s book coming out and we may see more of Gus and Teddy in it. Overall, the story was great and the love between Gus and Teddy was great as well as the relationship between Teddy and Reilly.
Thank you NetGalley and Dial for the arc.
I have been rooting for Gus and Teddy since Done and Dusted and this did not disappoint. I loved every minute of this and devoured it in 1 day. Of the 3 books in the series I felt that this one had the best writing yet!
My one very small qualm was the pacing was kinda quick.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5/5
🌶️🌶️ 2/5
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. 5 stars and 4 chili peppers for spice. Gus and Teddy are everything! This book has all my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and single dad. I also love that if you have read the first two books you already got a clear picture of Gus and Teddy’s loathing for each other, so this book didn’t have to take a lot of time describing their dynamic. I also love that Gus is really a closet softie at heart. Totally loved this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.
All I can say is that Lyla Sage has done it again. Teddy and Gus were everything that we have been waiting for and DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
Lost and Lassoed is the third book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, and it didn’t disappoint. This story follows Teddy Andersen and Gus Ryder, who have known each other since childhood. Teddy is best friends with Gus’ sister, Emmy, and though she has always appeared to be a tough and free-spirited, she also has a soft heart underneath her joking exterior. Teddy is fiercely loyal, caring for her father and everyone around her, but she often hides her vulnerability behind her sharp wit.
Gus is a dedicated single father who has been juggling the responsibilities of his family’s ranch along with raising his daughter, Riley. When his ex, Cam, has to leave town for the summer, Gus finds himself overwhelmed. Emmy and the rest of the Ryder family persuade Gus to let Teddy help out with Riley, and while Gus is initially hesitant, Gus knows Riley already knows and loves her.
The story deepens when Teddy's father has a heart attack, a moment that changes the dynamic between Teddy and Gus. Gus has already started to see beyond Teddy's tough exterior, realizing how deeply she cares for those around her, especially his daughter. Meanwhile, Gus struggles with his own sense of responsibility, always feeling like he needs to take care of everyone, but for the first time, he starts to consider what he truly wants in life—possibly a future with Teddy.
Lyla Sage does a great job blending heartwarming romance with deeper emotional undertones. Teddy and Gus's story is engaging, filled with chemistry and tension that keeps you rooting for them. It's a charming cowboy romance that also explores the complexities of family, responsibility, and love.
Overall, Lost and Lassoed is a fun and sweet read that leaves you excited for more from the Rebel Blue Ranch series. I’m giving it a solid 4.75 out of 5 stars.
this is the best book in the series so far!! lyla has created a world that i want to fully immerse myself in so bad i literally couldn't put the book down. can't wait for the next one!
Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage
“Tell me Teddy… baby. Can I touch you like this?”
Lyla Sage, the woman that you are. Everyone wants to judge me for reading western romances, but nothing will keep me from reading every single one of the books in the Rebel Blue Ranch series. You have effortlessly caused me to fall in love with three cowboys. I'm a sucker for a single dad x nanny romance.
“August Ryder. Are you offering me a mustache ride?” “Saddle up, baby.”
The tension between Gus and Teddy had been building for 2 books, so once we got into Lost and Lassoed things heated up pretty quick. Sage didn’t make us wait long for the tension to break. There were a few things said between the two main characters that made me think that the spice would be a little different.. kinkier. I’m still very happy with what this book gave me though.
Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Star rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Lyla Sage gets better and better with each book! LOST AND LASSOED was the perfect enemies-to-lovers cowboy romance. I'd recommend this author and series to anyone looking for a quick, delightful read that will get them out of a slump!
I devoured this in less than 24 hrs!!!!! Now THIS is how you do enemies to lovers!!!!! I swear I laughed every single time Teddy used the name “Gussy”. A wild romp from start to finish! A must read!
I'm definitely in my cowboy romance era. I've read no less than 7 cowboy romances in the last couple months and I'm a SUCKER for grumpy/sunshine. Gus and Teddy are exactly that.
In the first Lyla Sage book, I immediately hoped there would be a Gus/Teddy book. The "hate" between them was so perfectly done. I loved how complex their story ended up being -- especially because everyone saw Teddy as a happy-go-lucky girl who was always sunshiny and happy.
The support that Gus shows her when she has chaos in her life was so comforting.
Their love story is my favorite Lyla couple so far. When you know, you know.
Every book in this series has been my favorite as I was reading it. I have to say though, this is my favorite in the series.
Gus. Oldest brother. Single dad. Eventual leader of Rebel Blue Ranch.
Teddy. free spirit. designer. Daddy's girl.
They've hated each other since that night. The one neither or them speak about, and are still trying to forget.
Gus needs a part time nanny. Teddy needs a job, and direction. Enter Riley. Gus's daughter as a result of a one night stand. She is staying at the ranch for the summer, and needs someone to look after her.
Teddy moves in part time and Gus is just not happy..
I enjoyed the progression from hating each other, to not hating each others company, to then spending the evenings together.
The snarkiness though, is 10/10
I loved how well they sparred with each other. As someone full of sarcasm I love to read characters that share that trait with me.
The father/daughter dynamics in this book are wonderful. Its nice to read for once that the dads are involved and invested. Riley as a little girl, then Teddy as an adult.
The story building kinda took some of the spicy bits place, and I'm not even mad about it.
Lyla Sage has also been added to my auto TBR list and I'm definitely not mad about that.
