ahhh i love lyla and her writing so much!
gus and teddy are the perfect balance of enemies (but are they really) and strong, independent characters who love their friends and family so fiercely. they have such a connection, it was so beautiful to watch them grow together!
i love rebel blue so much and im so excited for wild and wrangled!
i didn’t think that lyla could write a book to outrun my favorite (done and dusted) but i feel lost and lassoed may have done that
This is the third book in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series and it's my favorite thus far. Gus and Teddy are everything! Their banter is top tier and their overall story is well paced. Each chapter had me wanting to know more about them and I found myself cheering them on whenever I turned the page.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC of this amazing book!
I chose this book sheerly by the cover, and truly enjoyed it. Cute, small town enemies to lovers plot that was fun to read. This was my first by the author, and I was excited to learn that this is part of a series. Can’t wait to read the others!
At its core this book is about family. The unwavering love and commitment that comes with it, but also the unbearable pain. For that, I loved this one.
My favorite relationships in these books are Amos & his kids and Teddy & her dad.
Overall, I love this series, and the unserious escape they provide me with.
Yaay we finally get Teddy and Gus!!
Her romance books are truly a breath of fresh air, always heartfelt but adorable at the same time!
The way Teddy and Gus get together might not have been my favourite of the three we got so far, but the story is still amazing 🥰
So excited for the 4th installment, Wild and Wrangled (April 15th, 2025), as well!!
Thank you, Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group / Dial Press, for the ARC!
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for an advanced readers copy of this book.
I did not have falling in love with cowboys on my bingo card, but here we are... I AM OBSESSED with Rebel Blue Ranch. (And I absolutely CAN NOT wait for book #4.)
I knew from chapter three in book one (Lyla - you called me out!) that Gus and Teddy were destined for each other. (The fire with these two!) And I'll be damned if it wasn't totally worth the wait! The banter be bantering and the spice be spicy with this one.
You just can't help falling in love with all of the characters throughout the entire series. Everyone is so woven together that you really feel like you've been welcomed into the family by Papa Amos himself. We've been watching Gus and Teddy from the sidelines, and their story just hits different -I love that they were made for each other. They both love so hard and have a hard time managing that, which is something that I can personally relate to. The banter was on fire, their mouths were filthy, and the mustache jokes were on point.
📚Trope(s): Enemies to Lovers, Grumpy/Spitfire, Sister's best friend
What you get: ☀️🤬🐴⛰️❤️🔥
⭐️Plot: 4/5
🔥Chemistry: 1000000/5
🌶️Spice: 5/5 (Open Door)
My fave book in this series! They had the perfect chemistry and the single dad, cowboy trope was done so well. I also loved the little nod to fatherhood throughout this book from multiple angles.
Teddy and Gus are everything! I have been waiting for this book since Done and Dusted and it did not disappoint! This is enemies to lovers at its finest!
Lyla Sage has pulled off a stunning third in this series. While contained in the same small world as the previous Rebel Blue Ranch stories, LOST AND LASSOED bloomed into a bold, courageous, self-aware and swoon-worthy love story that felt entirely new. Sage has a distinct ability to blend humor and heat, weaving realistic conflict into her torn characters. She somehow finds ways to make the messiest of characters with the wildest of conflicts break down to find a breakthrough with the sweetest, sweatiest, hottest love stories. Forever raising a glass to Lyla Sage. Well well well done!
This is my favorite book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series yet! I loved Gus and Teddy so much that I didn't want their story to end. I knew from book 1 that their story would probably be my favorite, and Lyla Sage did not disappoint!
Gus and Teddy have always hated one another, but when she loses her job and he needs a babysitter, the two start to connect in ways that no one thought possible. If you love enemies to lovers, small town romance, and unforgettable characters, this book is for you. So many swoon worthy moments, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
"August Rider, Are You offering me a
Moustache ride.”
"Saddle up baby.”
I have been waiting for this book since I read Done and Dusted and got the enemies to lovers vibes between Gus and Teddy!
"If I get you a bridle, will you shut up?”
"A bridal? Ooooh, August Ryder has a kinky side.”
I mean, when I saw this in Done and Dusted, I knew that this was going to be my favorite couple! And this book delivered!!! We get forced proximity with these two as Teddy gets hired to be Gus’s daughter’s nanny. I loved every single heated glance they shared. I loved how both Gus and Teddy were there for each other when the other was struggling. I especially loved how Gus took care of Teddy a couple times in this book! Be still my heart!!! The spicy scenes were delicious as always and I will be shouting and recommending this book from the rooftops! 😍🔥

I have not read the first novels in this series, so I didn’t have the complete backstory, but Sage does a good job of creating character relationships in such a way to make you feel included. It was a good, low-key read that I needed right now.
Lost & Lassoed by Lyla Sage.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️| Spice: 🥵🥵
I’m going to start off by saying “LONG LIVE GEDDY”. 🩷
I may be biased, but I absolutely adore all of Lyla’s books.
Lyla heals a little piece of my heart when i’m brought back to The Rebel Blue Ranch and she doesn’t even know it.
The Blue Rebel Ranch series starts off with:
✨ Done and Dusted, where we have the love story of Luke Brooks and Clementine (Emmy Ryder).
✨ Swift and Saddled, where we have the love story of Weston (Wes) Ryder and Ava Hart.
✨ Lost and Lassoed, where we obviously have the love story of our grumpy older Ryder brother, August (Gus) Ryder and Theodora (Teddy) Anderson.
“For everyone that got to chapter three of Done and Dusted and immediately wanted Gus and Teddy. I’m so happy to finally share their story with you. Thank you for waiting.”
- Lost and Lassoed Dedication
I was fortunate to have received an earc of Lost and Lassoed back in September and I devoured it in two days. I recently listened to the audiobooks and all I have to say is *chefs kiss* 🤌🏻
When I tell y’all that I laughed and I sobbed through so many parts of this book. It’s a book so good that you can re-read it.
What I love about Lyla is that the characters she writes are so genuine, so relatable. I found myself relating to Teddy on so many levels. I’m around Teddys age, so of course, much of the emotions and the grief she was facing I could resonate with.
Read Lost and Lassoed if you enjoy:
✨Frenemies to Lovers
✨ Forced Proximity
✨ Small Town
✨ Cowboy Romance
✨ Best friends Older Brother
✨ Age Gap
✨ Single Dad x Nanny
✨ Dyslexia Rep
Quotes:
“He was just so… grumpy. Men who are that good-looking should not be allowed to be such assholes. That was false advertising.”
- Teddy
“It turned out, much to my surprise, that Teddy Andersen was pretty good company when she wasn’t being a fucking menace.”
- Gus
“It was a beautiful thing to watch your best friend be loved in the way you know she deserves.”
- Teddy
“Fuck, Teddy, I never want to let you go.”
- Gus
I’m happy that Geddy got their happy ending. 🩷
Thank you, Lyla Sage.
Thank you, Penguin Random House.
Thank you, Dial Press.
I cannot wait for book four where Cam and Dusty will finally get their love story.
I love this book so much! The protagonist was just the right blend of sassy and vulnerable. The hero was tough without being over the top. Their romance was passionate but believable. I’m now dying to read the other books in this series!
Lyla Sage knows how to write the beauty of hope. We saw it with Luke and Emmy, we saw it with Ada and Wes, and my God we FELT it with Gus and Teddy. The act of being loved through your highs and lows, to have someone see you, to show up for you consistently, is a beautiful thing. Teddy and Gus are two headstrong people-we knew that going in. It’s why we loved them throughout this series. But seeing them cater that love to each other???? It was EVERYTHING!!!! I loved the way they showed up for everyone in their lives, I loved the way they let their guards down with each other, and I loved the way we never doubted for a second that they were made for each other. But most of all, I loved the way that, no matter how the women of Meadowlark find true love with the men of the series, Lyla never lets us forget the importance of female friendships and familial love 🤎
This is by far my favorite in the series thus far, and I can’t wait to read Dusty and Cam’s story 🧡
I think the literary universe Lyla has created is amazing. I love that the characters we’ve in and out of each other stories so that you get to be with them for longer amounts of time. For me, Swift and Saddled will probably be my favorite. It is the one that I relate to the most, but they were elements of Lost and Lassoed that I really connected with and enjoyed.
This was my first foray into Lyla Sage’s infamous westerns. I had heard a lot about this series and was really excited to get an arc and jump in. I was not disappointed! I had such a good time reading this! The characters have beset and depth, and the romance is very swoony. This is sure to be a big hit with a lot of people. I hope to read of Sage soon more!
LYLA!!!!!! this book was amazing, I really loved it so much. this whole series from start to finish has been amazing, so fun, so hot, so funny, so comforting. lyla you are that girl for real.
This was the first book I read in the series — I think it works as a standalone and also absolutely made me want to read the rest of the series. Teddy and Gus had such great chemistry from the beginning and their transition from enemies to lovers was well done and believable. Even without reading the other books I loved how we got to see the complexities and depth of Teddy and Emmy’s relationship. This was an amazing, cozy romance.
