I'm not sure I've ever been so sad about a four star read LOL I had too high of hopes for this one.. and it bit me.

I still really enjoyed this! I just really thought it would be a 5/5 with no hesitation given the glimpses of these characters we had gotten and the tropes involved.. But there were a few issues for me. I felt like there was something missing once they finally started to warm to each other. Some characters felt like random toss ins that weren't necessary. Some parts felt unresolved or rushed at the end. Some of the time jumps between chapters were a bit jarring. HOWEVER. I could not give this less than a four so that says a lot.. it's still so good. Teddy was really fleshed out and well done. Gus was a little less so but still enjoyable heh I ate this up so fast too. I'm curious about the next one...

I absolutely loved Teddy and Gus's story! They were both so much more tender and soft that I was expecting and I mean that in the best way possible. The theme of father/daughter relationships as well as the author's note at the end about her own made me an emotional wreck.

I HIGHLY recommend this whole series and I can not wait for the next installment.

Thank you to Dial Press Publishing and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Teddy despises her best friend’s brother Gus. Gus despises Teddy because she’s loud and obnoxious. Everyone in their small town of Meadowlark knows they hate each other. When Teddy unexpectedly loses her job, she’s lost and feels like she’s being left behind. Everyone is getting married or seems to have it all together except for her. Gus has to be a single parent this summer while Cam is away working for an internship. He’s struggling to keep on top of all his responsibilities. Gus needs help taking care of his daughter, and Teddy needs a job, so Emmy suggests that Teddy becomes the live-in nanny for her archenemy. Now they are forced to tolerate each other for the summer.

I LOVED this! From the moment I met Teddy and Gus in Done and Dusted, I NEEDED their book. I was actually so disappointed when I learned the second book, Swift and Saddled, wasn’t about them. Going into their story, I was a little worried about “insta-love” happening. Like, how is Lyla going to make this believable – two characters who hate each other, and now they are in love? But she handled it really well. It was a slow development between Teddy and Gus with plenty of the banter that I love. The tension was *chef’s kiss*. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, but Teddy and Gus will hold a special place in my heart.

Lyla Sage has done it again! Absolutely obsessed with August Ryder and his mustache. This was everything I wanted from Teddy and Gus’s relationship: we got tension, pinning, banter, bickering, sexiness, real and raw emotions, all the feels. I loved getting to know Teddy better and to see her story. I loved their relationship progression from hating to loving one another—this book was incredible; I couldn’t put it down.

This series has me absolutely hooked! I picked up the first book in large part because of the gorgeous cover art, and each installment has only furthered my investment in the residents of Meadowlark and their love lives.

Sage has mastered writing characters with complex emotional layers, making them easy to empathize with and feel connected to as a reader. Gus and Teddy are no exception in this enemies to lovers romance. Lost and Lassoed compassionately portrays topics like depression, loss of a parent, caregiving, feeling left behind, feeling like a failure, and other tough topics while remaining hopeful and giving the characters room to grow.

The emotions and romantic plot line felt incredibly genuine in Gus and Teddy’s story. Sage writes the complexities of small-town life incredibly well, never shying away from feelings of grief, melancholy, pride, and belonging that come with leaving and returning to your hometown. The entire Rebel Blue Ranch series is a must for readers of contemporary and western romance!

I love Lyla Sage.

Enemies to lovers
Grumpy/Sunshine
Best friend’s
Cowboy romance

Gus needs a babysitter for his daughter, Riley, for the summer. Teddy, best friend to Gus’ sister, recently lost her job and needs to make some money while she figures out her next move. Two birds one stone, right? One problem, Teddy and Gus hate each other. Will they be able to put up with each other for Riley’s sake? They say there is a fine line between love and hate, how close will Teddy and Gus ride that line?

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and can’t wait for the next book! Anything Lyla Sage writes I want to finish in one sitting, and this book was no exception.

I have been waiting for Gus and Teddy’s story since the very first time they appeared on the page together in Done and Dusted and I was not disappointed. I related so much to both of these characters and loved their love story so much. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this advanced reader copy! Can’t wait to add this one to my bookshelf in November.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and Dial Press for this ARC!

The third installment in Lyla Sage’s Rebel Blue Ranch series might be my favorite. It has everything people have grown to love about this world: surly cowboys, strong female characters, swoon-worthy romantic moments, and a lovable found family cast. Though my normal squabbles with this series remain (I don’t totally mesh with the writing style—it often feels clunky to me), I enjoyed this third novel immensely.

Another delightful installment in the Rebel Ranch Series by Lyla Sage.

Teddy and Ryder have always been in each other's lives, but they have never been friends. Although Teddy spends significant time with his family because she is his sister's best friend, Ryder can't see her as anything but a flirt who uses her looks to live an easy life. She thinks he is a grump who will never see her worth.
When life as a single dad gets complicated for Ryder, he is surprised to discover that Teddy might be the best solution to his problem, and he is even more shocked to discover that he likes having her around. The more time the two spend together, the more they realize that they may have been misjudging each other from the beginning.

I know I've said this about every book in this series, but this one is my favorite! It's probably because enemies to lovers is my favorite trope. The way Gus loves Teddy is just beautiful. "I wondered whether I could taste the sun on her skin." OMFG, swoon. The love scenes were written with so much respect. I can't wait to read Cam's story in the next book of the series!

"Lost and Lassoed" by Lyla Sage is the gold standard for enemies-to-lovers romances! Thanks to NetGalley for the sneak peek. I loved every single character and wanted full books for background on everyone. Just a heads up, it's spicy! If that bothers you it is pretty easy to skip over though. There was enough substance to the rest of the book to make it worth the effort. I am so excited for Book 4.

I wanna start off by saying thank you to Random House Publishing and Netgalley for this amazing ARC!

I LOVE this series with my whole heart. @lylasage has become an instant read for me now!

-WOW this was a quick read! Some might think it was too quick but to me it was just right. I haven’t been a fan of slow burns for a while now and this fed into it perfectly.
-The dialogue just feels real! You can feel it when Emmy and Teddy speak to eachother as best friends and in all of the characters thoughts. It doesn’t feel cheesy.
-The best part in my opinions is Gus is a textbook grump but he’s not a JERK. Yes in the beginning they have their moments but he is a sweetheart and a softy. THE CARETAKING SCENE!!! Just you wait guys….
-The DADS! There are some amazing dads in this book. It’s bitter sweet to me since my dad passed when I was young but it’s very comforting to see great father figures in a book.

I recommend this book if you love:
-best friends older brother/little sisters best friend
-single dad
-ranchers🤠
-grumpy/sunshine (but he’s not a dick!)
-single dad w/ a daughter
-caretaking🥵
-close proximity

Ahh, incredible! I’ve been obsessed with Teddy and Gus since book one, and this was definitely worth the wait. The banter was top notch and this is my favourite one to date!

I loved it and went back to buy the first two so I could read the stories of all the kids.

It’s funny to me that they all have the exact same dirty talk, from second one. Maybe it’s hereditary. Let’s get an Amos book after Cam and Dusty. That way we can check.

I wish Ada and Wes had been in it a bit more but that’s the middle child syndrome for you.

"Lost & Lassoed" is an absolute gem in the Rebel Blue Ranch series! As an avid reader who's devoured all three installments, I can confidently say this book has captured my heart. Lyla Sage has outdone herself with this captivating narrative, weaving a poignant and exhilarating tale of second chances and found family.

From the moment I delved into the pages of "Lost & Lassoed," I was swept away by the depth and history of the next couple we encountered. Their journey is not just a romance; it's a profound exploration of resilience, forgiveness, and the power of love to heal old wounds. I rooted for them from the first page, eagerly following their path to redemption and happiness.

One of the many things that sets this book apart is its portrayal of Wyoming. As a Wyomingite myself, I couldn't help but feel a surge of joy as Lyla Sage vividly brought our state and its people to life. Her authenticity and reverence with which she depicts Wyoming's landscapes, culture, and spirit are commendable. It's rare to come across a story that so perfectly captures the essence of home, and I am immensely grateful to the author for giving us a narrative that feels like a love letter to our beloved state.

But beyond its setting, "Lost & Lassoed" shines because of its beautifully crafted characters and heartfelt storytelling. Lyla Sage has a gift for creating characters who feel like old friends, and I found myself wholly invested in their lives, struggles, and triumphs. Their journey resonated with me on a deeply personal level, leaving a lasting impression that I know will stay with me forever.

As I eagerly await the next installment, "Wild & Wrangled," I am teeming with anticipation and excitement. I have no doubt that Lyla Sage will continue to weave her magic, delivering another unforgettable story that will capture our hearts and minds. Until then, I'll cherish the memories of "Lost & Lassoed," grateful for the opportunity to get lost in its pages and undeniable wealth of love. Thank you, Lyla Sage, for writing a book that entertained me and touched my soul in ways I never expected.

Lastly, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Penguin Random House for the incredible privilege of reading the ARC of "Lost & Lassoed." It was a humbling and exhilarating experience to dive into the pages of this extraordinary book before its official release. Your generosity has allowed me to uncover a story that has left an indelible mark on my heart, and for that, I am truly grateful. Thank you for consistently bringing such exceptional literature into the world and enriching the lives of readers like me.

Lyla Sage is a pro at the western rim-com. I loved the enemies to lovers trope in this one and the way the characters bantered back and forth. This enemies to lovers was pretty strong on the enemies and I wasn’t sure how they were going to make it work, but it was perfect! I loved this third book just as much as the first two!

I've been waiting to read Teddy and Gus's love story from the first moment they were on the page together and Lyla Sage did NOT disappoint! Like Done and Dusted and Swift and Saddled, Lost and Lassoed is a tender, emotional romance novel with complicated, relatable characters and lotssss of sexual tension. Teddy and Gus each have their own fears, family dynamics and self-beliefs to overcome to be together and I was cheering them on the whole way. Will be recommending this series to all the Emily Henry and Abby Jiminez readers I know.

A review in bullet points:
a) The thing I love about Lyla Sage is that you know exactly what you’re in for. It’s predictable in a comforting way – that we know the area and the townsfolk already that it’s arguably a homecoming when you read a new book in the series.
b) Teddy is amazing and I strive to be a fashion icon like her, though I think the disco ball thing at the end of the book wouldn’t look good on me. She was always my favourite whenever the girl gang would get together so I’m so happy that this book was about her. The tension between her and Gus was amazing, and I loved that they would use their full names with eachother, odd as all the real names in the series are! Their chemistry even in the other books was amazing, and this book definitely did not disappoint.
c) I’m obsessed with the covers for this series, but especially this one. Major brownie points to the creator.
d) [Spoilers] I H.A.T.E. cliff-hangers!! That epilogue?? Rogue wedding??? I need alllllllll the answers dammit!!!!

Spice: 4.5🌶️🥵
Rating: 4 ⭐️

No one can make me feel some type of way about Wyoming and cowboys quite like Lyla. Woman after my own heart, these books fill me with so many of the feels. I can’t even properly describe it. Teddy is all of us who have felt special, unique, and confident, but also one step behind, needy, and missing something. Gus is every person who’s ever felt like it’s too much to ask for help. These characters are perfect for each other and honestly perfect for us. I feel so much love for this family, this state, and this little world from Lyla and it just makes me wanna cry. I loved it. Every single second. So for all the girls who’ve felt like the next page wasn’t written, maybe Rachel was right (everyone’s getting married or getting promoted and I’m serving coffee), and sometimes it’s okay to ask for help, this one is for you.

My goodness, the book covers of the Rebel Blue series are truly stunning, I seriously cannot wait for the fourth book’s cover. I think I will combust.

Although I was not a fan of Done and Dusted, Lyla Sage’s Swift and Saddled has become a comfort book of mine since its release and my favorite of hers. However, I think Lost and Lassoed has taken that spot.

Gus and Teddy’s book was my most anticipated of the series, and it did not disappoint. There was not a big build up or explosive declarations of love, rather it was slow and steady and even maybe a bit soft. If anything, Gus and Teddy’s romantic relationship development was my favorite aspect of the book. In comparison to the first two books, Lost and Lassoed focused primarily on care and responsibility, two things in which Gus and Teddy have in common. Gus and Teddy’s relationship also felt more natural and real in terms of development in contrast to Emmy and Brooks, and Wes and Ada. There is a realistic aspect, which I greatly appreciate.

Surprisingly, I didn’t quite relate to Teddy as a character but rather her internal conflicts and responsibilities. Instead I related mostly to Gus, a single dad/cowboy in his mid 30s. Definitely the biggest surprise while reading this book.

The reason why it’s not a five star is for two things. Firstly, the ending was a bit fast paced and rushed, and I wished this book was a bit more longer because I didn’t feel satisfied by the ending Gus and Teddy deserved. Secondly, I wished there was a bit more banter. The banter that we got was great but I wanted a bit more.

Nonetheless, I can’t wait for the fourth book of the Rebel Blue Series!

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for providing an advanced copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinions.
