I think this book was crack in it or something because wow. I’ve been WAITING AND DYING for this masterpiece to arrive and I’m so honored I got to read it. This was beautiful, hilarious, passionate and just good for my soul.
3.5/5⭐️
Thank you so so so much for this arc.
I mean I absolutely love Lyla.
Teddy and Gus had been one of my most anticipated couples since reading Done and Dusted.
Their story felt like something you’d compare to quiet love. Something that just happens naturally and there’s no big epic gut wrenching confession but still fills your heart with joy.
This is probably the only book I wish was longer and had more to the story. I did feel like it was a bit rushed at the end. Also I would’ve loved a clear timeline of events.
I’m beyond excited to read Cam and Dusty ❤️
There is no one more annoying to Theodora Andersen than August (Gus) Ryder. Gus is her best friend Emmy's brother, and though she respects him and adores his family- they have never gotten along...except for maybe that one night seven years ago??
This is a huge summer of change for both Teddy and Gus: she finds herself without a job and on the cusp of making a huge career decision, and he is taking on more responsibility at Rebel Blue Ranch, as he tries to get a grasp on solo parenting.
At the insistence of his family, Gus begrudgingly offers Teddy a job for the summer: part time babysitter for his daughter Riley. Forced proximity + shared love for his child and family = one hot sloooooooow burn.
If you love Cowboy romance and these tropes, you'll love this latest installment of the Rebel Blue Ranch series:
- best friend's brother
- forced proximity
- single dad (he has an excellent supportive co-parent, shout out Cam!)
- slow burn
- enemies to lovers
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishers for access to this digital ARC!
Sadly, I didn't love this one as I have the previous installments. I was really looking forward to Teddy and Gus's story, but something just didn't click. I mostly liked their relationship progression, but some of the banter just didn't land like I hoped it would. I enjoyed it more once they got together, but there was still something holding me back from loving them together like I did our previous couples. I did really like the discussions about caretaking and the different forms it took in this book. I also liked seeing the rest of our characters and what was going on in the overall world and ranch. I will definitely read the next one as I'm overall enjoying the series as a whole.
Fans of Lyla Sage will absolutely eat up Lost and Lassoed. It is in my opinion the best of the Rebel Blue Series yet!
Fans of August and Teddy it is worth the wait! The enemies to lovers, Sister’s Best Friend, Single Dad/Nanny tropes. This book has it all.
Sage did a fantastic job bringing these characters who were side characters in the other books to the main front. Gus is my favorite swoon worthy “daddy” cowboy yet. Teddy is fierce, strong, and lovable. I had a great connection and related to both characters and their family dynamics so well.
The Rebel Blue Ranch series takes place on a ranch, located in a small town, in Wyoming adds to the character of these books and brings it to life!
If you love a small town setting with hunky cowboys The Rebel Blue Ranch series is it for you! Five Stars! Well done Lyla Sage! I can’t wait to see what more she may bring to the Rebel Blue Ranch series!
Lyla Sage does it again!! She did Gus and Teddy the justice they deserve, in such a natural and normal way. I also love when characters act like adults instead of a third act breakup. Well done!
The entire Rebel Blue Ranch series has my whole heart. Lyla has created something that feels like such a warm hug and being able to come back to it is always immediately felt when you open one of her books. I loved finally getting Gus and Teddy's story. It definitely did not disappoint! The banter was top notch as always, and I absolutely loved seeing Emmy and Brooks and Wes and Ada throughout this entire story. It was heart wrenching and you got a really good understanding of who Teddy is and how close her and Hank are. I loved seeing Gus be a sweet dad when we've only seen him be a grump. The spice was exactly what I'd expect, and nothing less. Overall, I'll absolutely be recommending this book in my store and can't wait to see how Lyla wraps up this series.
I was really looking forward to this book in the series and found myself let down. I wanted more from the characters, the writing, the development between them.
Gus Ryder is a grumpy, overworked ranger and single dad. His family knows he can't do it all, so they enlist his sister's best friend, Teddy Anderson. Unfortunately, they can't stand each other. But Teddy needs a job and agrees to take care of Gus' daughter for the summer. Soon the forced pair realize they may have misjudged each other and they might actually like each other after all.
I was so excited to see "Lost and Lassoed" pop up on NetGalley. It's such a great addition to the beautifully pastoral universe of the Rebel Blue Ranch and the Ryder family. This arc was a long time coming and author Lyla Sage did not let us down.
My only negative is I feel like we did not get enough of Teddy and Gus' day-to-day bonding that took them from enemies to friends and beyond. It just feels very sudden and, as a reader, I almost felt a little cheated that I didn't get more of it. However, we do have to remember that they've had a whole life adjacent to each other and interactions before this that we weren't privy to.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Dial Books for the advance copy! Cannot wait for book four!
I was soo looking forward to this one. I wanted to see behind the grumpy facade of Gus. And I KNEW there had to be a reason behind the hostility...
I was hooked from Chapter 1 and flew through this book in a day. Overall, I absolutely loved this book. I loved seeing Teddy and Gus re-learn about each other and see one another in a new light. I felt like the switch was a *tad* sudden but that's okay. I love these characters and setting. Loved seeing Teddy figure out what she wanted to do next.
Simply cannot WAIT until Cam's book. The teaser was ughhhhh soo good and seriously a tease.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to read this amazing ARC & I could not be happier! Teddy & Gus' story was a standout in the entire series!
Their highly anticipated turn in the spotlight is a literal mention when getting customers introduced to Rebel Blue & to see them shine was so exciting. Even when you think you know what’s to come there was a heartfelt surprise around every corner! Getting to grow with these characters as they love is so special!
Thank you Lyla! Cannot wait for Book 4!
Fans of Rebel Blue Ranch and the Ryder clan will be thrilled with the third installment in Sage’s series.
Grumpy, overworked, rancher Gus Ryder needs some help. The last person he wants to assist him is his sister’s best friend and the woman he can’t stand, Teddy Anderson. But when Teddy needs a job and offers to take care of Gus’s daughter for the summer, they both discover more about each other than they ever imagined. Not the least of which is a sizzling attraction.
Packed with lots of snark, sizzle, and sweetness this was a delight from beginning to end. I enjoyed learning more about both characters. A fast and enjoyable read. 4 Stars.
Thank you to Dial Books and NetGalley for an advance copy of this novel.
I really enjoyed this installment of the Blue Rebel Ranch series. Sage does a good job at developing relationships through events and dialogue and Teddy and Gus’s relationship is no different.
Some parts were a little clunky and felt like the edges just needed to be polished a bit, but nothing that affected the story or my reading of it. Like, there is a scene where Teddy drops her sweatshirt on the porch to air out but the next sentence she’s using it to wipe sweat off her face. And another scene where Gus is wondering if Teddy’s skin could tan since she’s a redhead, but in the flashback scene, he notes that her skin is bronzed and tan. Just little inconsistencies.
Overall, this was an excellent romance! I’d highly recommend to romance readers, but especially those that enjoy enemies to lovers. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review Lost and Lassoed. It’s a 5/5 for me! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Gus & Teddy
Tropes:
• Enemies to Lovers
• Single Dad
•Boss & Nanny
Thoughts:
This book is so much bigger than a love story. It's all the relationships that encompass building us as people: the relationships between fathers and daughters, the relationship between best friends and the relationship of loving someone exactly as they are. You are a national treasure, Lyla Sage. This book was absolutely beautiful!
(Dual POV and Spicy)
I’m obsessed with this series and this was no different! I loved the banter and the chemistry that has been building between the main characters for some time and I really enjoyed how it played out. Wes and Ada will always be my favorites but this was still for sure up there. Will recommend and be adding to my collection.
Oh. My. Goodness!!! Lyla Sage does it again! I swear, I want to move to Meadowlark and live the rest of my life working at Rebel Blue Ranch even though I don’t know a thing about horses. I thought for sure this would be the last book in the series so while I devoured every page of Teddy and Gus’s story, I also found myself stopping to savor it because I never wanted it to end. And then BOOM. Cliffhanger! I found myself laughing, tearing up, and swooning throughout this whole read and I loved it so much. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!
Lyla Sage never ever fails me. I love every single thing about this book. Two lines in particular I’ve thought about every single day since I read this a few weeks ago. I genuinely am obsessed. Warm, real, beautiful. 1000000/5
This entire series has taken over all of my thoughts. I am convinced that Lyla Sage can do no wrong. Her books perfectly combine character growth, internal hardships, romance, and jokes. I don't think I'll ever get enough of these books. In a single chapter I can be laughing, crying, and swooning.
Gus and Teddy were meant for each other. It is just so clear. Teddy's relationship with her dad, Hank, throughout this book was making me emotional. It's just not so common to see such wonderful and healthy father-daughter relationships. Speaking of, the way Gus thought about, talked about, and interacted with Riley about took me out. It was much too precious. Teddy's struggle with figuring out herself and her life was so relatable. It had me crying at times with how real that was for me.
Overall, this book (and series as a whole) is an all time favorite for me. I will never stop recommending it and can see myself rereading whenever I just need a good comfort read.
The third book was even better than the first two books! If you are a fan of great banter, enemies-to-lovers, or cowboys, you have to read this book!
Gus and Teddy are the perfect enemies to lovers, single dad and nanny, best friends older brother, mustache ride, cowboy small town, grumpy sunshine, PERFECT all around couple. Hot steamy heartwarming funny sweet real glorious perfect amazing.
